About
My girlfriend and I had an amazing time here! We visited before the hawks game to booze a bit and eat dinner. The taquito appetizer was delicious! We ordered the tacos, (carne asada, beef brisket and pork belly) they were probably some of the best tacos we have had in a long time. We completely devoured all of the food that was ordered along with two orders of churros for dessert They had our favorite Don Julio 1942, which for some reason is hard for us to find. Our server was attentive and didn’t interrupt but was always there if we needed anything! We definitely be back and will be recommending this restaurant to our friends and family!
Federales was ok. Happy hour margaritas for $6 can’t be beat, but the food was underwhelming.
Celebrated my friend’s birthday here! Loved it! Great food, drinks, and experience.
The food was high quality traditional Mexican, the servers very well trained, and the tequila selection well thought out. The music was a bit loud which made conversation next to impossible inside.
The guacamole was amazing. If you are the kind of person who appreciates a well executed menu you will like this place
Very good service and food in a cool, open atmosphere
It was good! A little too loud because of the location being right next to the train tracks though...
Great way to kick off a Sunday Funday with friends. Great food, good drinks, staff is friendly.
Music is lively and will bring energy to your day. Outside seating is great!
Great music without the craziness of a club scene. In door/outdoor seating, retractable roof.
Grabbed lunch on a Friday - excellent food and delicious margaritas. We didn't do the shots and ring the bell, but seems like it would be a great time for happy hour and a night out.
One of the best places to congregate with friends in the West Loop.
Felt the menu was very limited. Drinks were great!
Awesome fish taco
I've been here before for dinner back when it first opened, and again since for drinks. This time I went back for dinner and it was way, way, WAY too loud. The waitress was wonderful, but she couldn't hear us at all. We couldn't talk at all. The meat in the tacos were super dry. Then after about an hour when our plates were cleared and we were finishing our drinks, someone literally came to our table and told we had to give it to another reservation. Even though we were seated 20 minutes late. I would definitely come back for the bar (the bell is fun!), but as a restaurant they're stretching themselves too thin.
The food is horrible! We had to sit outside because there was so much noise inside that we couldn't hear each other speak. Our server was nice, but spear thin and didn't return to our table in a timely manner. It took 30 minutes to get a drink each time we ordered a round. Will not be coming back to this spot.
7:30 dinner reservation. People were wasted and rude. Younger crowd than has been in past. Music was so loud it was hard to have a conversation with a table of 6
My co-worker recommended me this place and mentioned to make reservations in advanced. Got here around 2:00 PM and the line was a quarter mile long. So the reservation came in handy. A wonderful atmosphere filled with open roof bar, great beer, and tequila collection and amazing beef tacos. The place was packed so the service was a little slow but overall very good.
Food is average at best but lively, energetic bar - especially when the weather is good.
Honestly, the bus boy talked to us more often than our waitress did...
Also, I had to walk over and request silverware from the waiters station.
I would not describe the food as authentic or tasty Tex-mex.
Definitely more of a neighborhood spot than a destination.
Excellent food quality and presentation. Vibrant and fun for a large group. We will go back!!
This is a great place for a group of friends. Music was fun but too loud. I would not recommend this restaurant if you are on a date. It is very difficult to hear each other due to the extremely loud music.
Music was too loud so hard to hear friend across the table. And it was insanely cold. We felt like we were sitting outside.
It was a great venue for a fun night out!! We celebrated my birthday with a taco platter, fundido, drinks and churros! The music was old school and loud!
Food was good but it was a business meeting and they mixed all the tacos on 1 tray, with very little direction on what was what. I ended up not getting what I ordered because it was on a tray furthest away from me amongst 4 other individuals. Don't let people order separately if you're just going to mix it all together...or at least give the option to have your own meal.
The music was way too loud but our server Dustin was great.
Went here for a Friday girls night and the DJ was awesome, the good/drinks were good, and Quinn (our server) was great!
Came here with friends on a Friday night for some tacos. We ordered several different types of tacos, and the beef brisket and pork belly were my favorite. They come with a plethora of toppings and I would order again. However, the music was extremely loud (unnecessarily so - it was still pretty early) and even at a 4-topper table we could barely hear each other.
I live in the neighborhood and noticed that this place is packed every day. It seemed a little too much of a "scene" for me so I never made a point to go. Decided to give it a try with some girlfriends on Saturday and we had a blast. It was very loud which made the conversation a bit challenging but everything else was better than expected. The Oxacan Old Fashion was creative and delicious. We ordered the queso fundido and a bunch of tacos to share and everyone was happy with the choices. Our server was great as well. I wish I remember her name - but she was super attentive and very friendly even though it was busy. We will definitely go back when the patio is open.
Good was decent. Chips & Salsa were on point and complimentary. Street taco platter had some good options but most of the meat was lacking in flavor and the fish tacos and guacomole were a bust. Only recommend coming here if you are going out for drinks with a group. Not a date nigth spot as the music is blaring as early as 6pm.
Fun ambiance and great margaritas! Service could of been better. My water was not refilled once.
Great Mexican and a good atmosphere. We had a lot of fun throwing ice shot glasses at the bell! Be careful though, they are $9 a shot.
Loved this place! Everything was delicious and all the staff were friendly and attentive! Will definitely be back!
The food left a lot to be desired. I had heard great things from friends/coworkers but the service was very average and there are (in my opinion) plenty of better taco/Mexican options in Chicago. Wouldn't recommend it to a friend, but also wouldn't say a bad thing about them, just very average.
