   Disappointing Mother’s Day Dining at The Federal American Grille For Mother’s Day 2025, my family and I dined at The Federal American Grille (The Woodlands location) for brunch, hoping for a memorable meal. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations, especially compared to past visits to their I-10/Voss location years ago. The restaurant offered a predetermined three-course menu, but the execution was severely lacking. While there were multiple options for course #1 and #2, every dish tasted mass-produced, reheated, and devoid of freshness. The flavors were bland, the textures uninspired, and the overall quality was shockingly subpar—more akin to a low budget ’cafeteria’ than a reputable American grille. Even the dessert, which had only one option, was underwhelming, capping off the meal on a disappointing note. Given the premium pricing and the occasion, we expected far better. The Federal likely aimed to impress, but this visit felt like a rushed, assembly-line dining experience. Unless significant improvements are made, I can’t recommend it for special occasions—or any occasion, really. Final Verdict: 2/10 – A regrettable choice for Mother’s Day.

   We were there for the Mother’s Day Brunch. Some food was really good but most of the food was very underwhelming for the $45 per person cost. The eggs and potatoes tasted like school cafeteria and even though we informed them of one guest being gluten and dairy free, the steak with steak and eggs was cooked drenched in butter.

   Very crowded because it was Mothers Day weekend which was a good thing. It took awhile for food but we had our drinks comped so all good. Love eating there! Food was delicious!

   2nd time eating here. Service was not great tonight. Luckily the food was still good. Reserved a low table and when we arrived they told us only high tops available. Not ideal with small kids and to add that the high top seats are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. This happened to multiple other people as well and at least 3 groups decided to walk out because of this. I would recommend that you get rid of these tables. To add, there were low tables/booths that remained vacant for most of our meal. If I decide to go back, I will be making backup plans and will be joining the groups that walked out if I get a high top. It was so uncomfortable that it kind of ruined the meal. The staff could care less as well about the table reservations. They simply say they didn't receive that. Sounds like your problem with OpenTable. Not mine. Our waitress didn't seem like she wanted to be at work. They forgot our appetizer. This is also the 2nd time there and I'm pretty sure the special was the exact same from months ago. I likely won't be back unless I hear that there have been some drastic improvements. It's a shame as we did really enjoy this restaurant our first time. Last night was just a bad experience. At least the food was good though.

   As always, the federal American Grille is the best place to go for brunch, lunch or dinner.

   Love the Cheeseburger bowl. The hostess at this location was on top of her game and Harper was great

    The waiter was great, very attentive. Some food was good but most was just so so. Ordered med rib-eye and arrived bloody. Told the waiter the music was very loud and he had it turned down and 10 mins later it was up again.
