Brunch is always a hit for everyone at Feast. Service, not so great. Drinks were “meh”.
I reserved on OpenTable and called ahead to be sat in the sun room by the bar, when I got there my friends were in the darkest corner of the restaurant, I spoke to the hostess female and asked about the various open tables in the sun room by the bar or anywhere else with natural light for that matter, she lied in my face and said all the tables were booked. We did move to a brighter table but EVERY single table I had asked for (and called ahead for) was never seated. We were there until brunch was over and the tables stayed available.
The place is nicely decorated but the food was lacking. They were out of dishes from the menu and the place just opened at 5pm. Our reservation was at 7:45pm. And my entree was too salty.
Great food. Not our first time at Feast. Still great food, great prices.
Excellent food at very good price! We will definitely eat here again and recommend to friends.
We were greeted and sat at our table and after that we were not attended. We were provided zero service after we sat at our table.
Service was very slow. I ordered a burger with no cheese and it came with no cheese and no bacon. I pointed out the lack of bacon to the waitress and she said they ran out. Meanwhile, a table next to us got three sides of bacon after we were told the restaurant was out of bacon. Many flies all over the restaurant. Terrible experience.
The menu wasn’t honored. We received fingerling potatoes instead of fries, no onion on burger, hair on one plate in potatoes, the lettuce looked like it was picked out of a salad. We were told no omelets and no donuts available today, on Mother’s Day. When we asked about fries and onions, we were told they were out. Also told they don’t have mayonnaise and mustard. A very strange experience today. Lots of available tables but they were turning people away.
First, we had to wait quite a while for our table, though at least half the tables were empty. Then, we had to wait for water and then our waitress. Waitress took food and drink orders at same time. The food arrived immediately after the drink, quickly. Waitress quickly put down the food and left. I had ordered blue berry pancakes, the only pancakes on the menu. I didn't see any blue berries. The pancakes were enormous, but tough--I needed a knife, which I didn't have. I noticed the table next to me had pancakes with actual blueberries on them, a normal size and nicely garnished. We asked several waitstaff to send our waitress. Told I a saw no blueberries, just one strawberry in the pancake. I told her that if there were no blueberries, she should have informed me. She disappeared and came back with a small bowl of blueberries she said she found at the bar. I told her the pancakes were runny in the middle, so she asked if I'd like something else. I told her I'd have the French toast. Only French toast on menu was strawberry pistachio. I think I even pointed to the menu item. They came with no strawberries or pistachios. Then I saw someone else with French toast loaded with strawberries and pistachios.
The outdoor patio is charming and I could hear what the conversation was at the table easily. It was Mother’s day and they were short staff. The food took quite a while to come but we were informed that there was going to be a delay. Coffee was served cold. When we asked for hot coffee it came back the second time still cold. The food was well prepared and everyone enjoyed their selection. Despite some minor issues I think this place is worth paying a visit!
Went to Sunday brunch on Mothers Day. Not as busy as I had expected; only about half full. Wait staff was very friendly, but it took about 45 minutes to get our food, even though it wasn't very busy. The waiter said they were understaffed, and brought us a free app to hold us over. Inside seating was noisy. Food was good, not great. I ordered steak and eggs. The steak was well seasoned, which was odd because the eggs lacked any seasoning at all. The steak also had gristle, making it very difficult to cut, which was ashamed since the flavor was good. The breakfast potatoes were bland. Food wasn't to my kids' liking. If I came back, it would definitely be without the kids.
My family and I went to Feast for Mother’s Day. It was supposed to be a relaxed and special brunch that I had planned well in advance. We had a nice table outside and then it went down from there. Our server took 12 minutes to come by and take our drink order. Once we finally got the Mimosa’s, they were wrong. But we kept them because the frost ones took so long. It wasn’t even that crowded and this is NOT a new restaurant. So, no excuses in my book. We waited ONE HOUR AND TEN MINUTES for 2 burgers and an egg sandwich!!! I asked for a Manager and was told there was not one available. The table in front of us waited forever also. The table behind us sent their food back twice. My husbands burger had cheese on it. He asked for no cheese twice. My sandwich was cold. The potatoes- mushy. Wow! What a disappointment my Mothers Day brunch turned out to be. Barely an apology from the staff. Everyone seemed lost. Wow. Major bummer for such a lovely place.
very disappointed. Considering mother’s day is a big holiday, I’m shocked that they were so unprepared . Late , cold and missing food , loud music, poor service . Would not recommend
We loved coming here for the past couple years for Sunday brunch so we were extremely disappointed when we went for Mother's day and the service was terrible, hostess rude, and food was NOT what it used to be. Only saving grace was our drinks. Please fix yourself Feast!
Seated quickly and water brought out. We sat there for 15 minutes and no one acknowledged we were there. Five or six employees walked by us several time each. We left and was told to have a good night on our way out
Kitchen was under staffed. I don’t believe our server was actually a server but rather a hostess. Another server noticed the delay at our table and came to make apologies. Hoping it was just an off night for them. This place came recommended. Food was good, service was bad. I’d try it one more time.
What a perfect night at Feast!! Our party of 5 were seated on the patio on a rare cool crisp night in May. Our waiter was new but was trying hard and we didn't mind because we wanted a leisurely evening. We were impressed with the 2 bottles of red wine we had, including the value price. The assortment of starters we ordered were delicious and big enough for all of us to sample. Our entrees were impressively tasty and sized appropriately, including the steak. We took our time and never felt rushed and loved everything about it. The bill surprised too--in the best of ways--being well below what my son from out of town who treated us had anticipated. Such a delightful place with very tasty and interesting dishes. I look forward to returning.
We waited 2 hours to get our food. We were advised by our waiter to order ASAP as the kitchen was backed up. We weren't too hungry when we arrived so we were not too concerned. However, after several drinks and 2 hours had passed, we were quite hangry. The food was a disappointment, no presentation, just looked like they threw my steak on the plate along with some cauliflower. The taste was not exceptional and definitely not worth the high dollar price. We would have sent it back but after waiting 2 hours, we just wanted to eat. We were disappointed that we weren't offered any discounts after this terrible service. I used to love this place and it was my go-to whenever I came back in town, we won't be coming back and I will not be recommending to friends.
food was usual was good. I went with the lamb chops...tasty, tender, grilled just right. my friend loved his cheeseburger. wives split chicken kabobs...tender, juicy, grilled correctly.
only complaint was the waiter was trying hard but we think it was his first day. he didn't know anything. he was nice enough, but I like my waiters to know the menu.
Food was wonderful. Ambiance was beautiful outside. Featured drinks for cinco de mayo were delicious. Definitely going back.
Wonderful service, delicious food. Charming restaurant, quiet on a Sunday night.
I’ve passed by Feast multiple times and always thought it looked interesting so for my birthday I thought I would make reservations for my friends and I to celebrate. Upon arrival we checked in and were told that we had we had to wait for our tables to be put together. It ended up being 30 minutes before we were seated which is ridiculous considering I made a reservation. It was especially irritating since we could see available tables that just needed to be cleaned or pushed together. On top of that our service wasn’t that great either. We had two servers for our table yet it still took a while for them to bring out our drinks and take our food order. While they were busy I feel like for the amount that you pay for the meal and added gratuity (we had a party of 8) we should’ve received better service. I witnessed another customer walk out after waiting 45 minutes to be seated even though they also had a reservation. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They made a day that was supposed to be special and fun very irritating and disappointing.
30 minutes to get drinks, an hour and 20 to get food. Drinks all came out separately, and 3 people were served their food 10 minutes ahead of our 4th person. Food is fantastic when it finally arrives, but possibly the worst service we’ve ever experienced.
Menu changed and the food just is not as good. One person ordered a burger and it tasted like a salt shaker had been poured on it. The waiter returned it and comped the bill. It used to be SO good and it was a disappointment this time.
Highly recommend the outdoor seating and the Pistachio Blackberry French Toast! Great brunch spot. Not impressed with the overall service. Our waiter was uncouth and condescending.
Easter but I had made reservations nearly 6 days prior, our table was what and where I wanted.
Our waiter Angel was very personable and helpful and funny. Enjoyed him.
The food came out super quick, kinda oddly quick... like they wanted us to hurry and leave so they could have the table. I didn’t haven’t much time to visit with my family because the food was there wayyyy too quick and in our face
There is a big issue with the service, looks to me like there is bill padding going on. When the server came to our table we ordered 2 coffees and brunch drinks, server said SA restaurant regs prevented her from serving us drinks unless we ordered an a appetizer, while I never heard of this in SA we order pancake sausages (very good), during the meal we each had a coffee refill; after we finished the meal and had the check I noticed we had been charged for 4 coffees; I brought this to the attention of the server and she said they charged for coffee by the cup total of $14 ($3.50 each); I paid the bill and saw the manager on the way out, I mentioned the issue to him and showed him the receipt, he said that was incorrect, it was unlimited refills but did not offer to refund the overcharge. He did not act like he was surprised or concerned by the issue which I thought was odd. I checked when I got home there is no reg on ordering appetizer before being served drinks. Now that I have thought about the situation it looks to me like there is a management condoned process in place to pad the bill for their customers. Pay close attention to your check, the food is very good, but I will not eat there again.
Easter brunch at Feast was wonderful. Love the vibe at Feast and the staff was friendly and very attentive. Food was delicious as always.
We loved the atmosphere and the unique food selection! Enjoy our Easter Sunday brunch!
All of the entries were far too salty
Liked restaurant much better when it was small plates
The new menu makes it just another restaurant. What was fun and social about the excellent small plates and sharing is gone. Now they are the same as everyone else but with bad parking. For two dinners, two burgers an appetizer and drinks it was $168.
We loved it before but would rather go to Bliss now, especially if they keep their new menu concept. Bliss has a better menu, better food and better parking. Not to mention a much more professional staff. The ownership should reconsider. No fun anymore!!
Everything is really great about this spot - especially for locals looking for a change. I was disappointed to see that the menu changed from a tapas-like menu to a more traditional appetizer, heavy meal format. I always enjoyed sharing food with the table and discussing the different flavors. Overall, good restaurant. However, I think they made a mistake when they changed the menu and dining structure of the meal.
Very accommodating staff. We were late for our reservation but they still managed to get us a table for our brunch which was much appreciated. The food and drinks came out in a timely fashion, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The only real miss I would say was the pancakes. These were dry to the point that even the taste of the blueberries were lost in each bite. Syrup hardly made a dent in piercing through their blandness. They lacked the quality I have found elsewhere and were sent back mostly uneaten. The savory dishes nonetheless were enjoyed thoroughly. A fine brunch, but not transcendent, and for a restaurant this ambitious I know it can and will do better in the future.
i have been going to feast since they opened, food was always interesting and good. they changed the menu and decreased the offerings. The trout was unseasoned and overcooked and the pork shoulder while tender had a sauce that was also not seasoned well. the guacamole had the consistancy of packaged guac. over all the changes were not advantageous to a good dining experience. wait staff was good and the space is as it always has been, very cool.
Thanks! Good cocktails and wine. Nice small plates!
The food was inedible. The server dropped off our food and we did not see her again until she brought the check.
We were very disappointed with the new menu. Service was slow and he was not very focus on his customers. He didn’t explain the new menu or that we could get items from the old menu.
Feast used to be one of our favourite restaurants in San Antonio, however it's declined since the chef changed. We went in November soon after the old chef left and everything was SO spicy. This time, the menu had sadly completely changed and nothing appealed like it used to and the quality has really gone down. Shame.
The food was cold and undercooked , they messed up an order multiple times . They burnt and served over cooked sourdough bread. We had to flag our waitress down all night and when we talked to the manager he said it was our fault that our food was like that .
The first time I came here in October, the service and food were amazing. Since then I’ve gone 3 other times and the food has been very bland and the drinks were extremely water down. Disappointing because the service and ambiance have always been great!
The food was very salty and over peppered. Not my favorite experience with service they completely disappointed unfortunately.
