Faz Sunnyvale Ratings and Reviews
We had never tried Faz for breakfast on Sunday, but our family gathering of 6 adults and 3 children under age 10, was excellent for everyone. The buffet was all fresh and delicious. Our server was friendly and always there for coffee refills, and even helped our ten year old at the buffet. They have an outdoor gazebo and fountain area outside the picture window and outdoor patio where the children went after they finished.
I had roast vegetable pizza. It was simple, nothing fancy (didn't even come with a side salad). Nothing wrong with it as such, just quite plain/boring. Skipped dessert. Finished with coffee, which was really pretty bad. Restaurant was fairly empty, but not that surprising given the location. Service was fine, no complaints there. Probably overpriced for the quality of the food & drink.
It does the job adequately and with no fuss if you're staying in the Sheraton (immediately adjacent) and need dinner and aren't too bothered by the prices, but it's not somewhere I'd travel to.
We had a small birthday dinner for my wife. Took place on a Saturday evening.
Restaurant was a little slow, but with a small crowd around. Expected a quiet Saturday dinner because of the commercial location. Actually good idea to have a Saturday dinner here on a Saturday that for that reason. You can carry on a conversation without yelling. Expect weekday to be much different because of the location.
Most of our meals were good. The only exception was my wife's grilled chicken kebab. She noted that it was a little dry. This is the reason for the 4-star.
Great food. Found myself searching 10 minutes to catch any server cor simple thing like a diet coke
refill for the CEO of an important client whom was hostinf the lunch for. Food was excellent as has been case for last 15 years. Management needs to limit the client-to-server ratio (or maybe a server-waiter had called in sick thay day).
Overall the food was great, flavorful, and authentic. The chicken kabob was superb in flavor and juicy, and the lamb shank was also very tender and tasted wonderful. The only flaw was the pita bread was very hard, cold and chewy. Our waiter was nowhere to be found so we flagged down the manager, who apologized and immediately replaced it with fresh bread that was soft and warm. So why wasn't that served in the first place?
I was extremely disappointed with the experience at Faz.
Extremely poor service - waiter showed up once to take the order, and once to deliver the food. We had to finally go to the front desk and ask them to bring our check. Food had zero salt in it, salad had zero dressing on it, and veggies were burnt. I can't imagine why these tasteless dishes can be so expensive!!! Never again will I visit this place. If you value your time and money, stay away from here!!
I was underwhelmed by the place. We went for Father's Day thinking of the outdoor patio. It was too hot to sit outside. Inside was a bit dead. No music, no view. Felt like I was in some staid restaurant inside of a hotel in a travel-through town. Food was ok, not enough vegetarian options. The curried pasta was the only standout. No kids menu although they fixed us a pasta. They didn't even have kids cups! The reviews on OpenTable did not lead me right this time.
It was a very nice ambiance. Our server, although she gave me the incorrect order and also told me a dessert was available when it actually wasn't, was good nonetheless. She was very nice and sweet. The owner or manager even came by afterwards and asked us how the food was so that was nice. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I especially liked the live pianist.
Visited this place for a one-to-one business dinner. For the purpose, we overall had quite nice experience because the ambience noise is low to moderate and there is choice of decent wine to be served. My guest comes from Israel and the person gave a thumbs up to the food as well.
We went to Faz for our weekly date night and had a lovely time. Getting a table was easy, we made a reservation but it wasn't necessary. The restaurant is attached to a hotel so a fair bit of the clientele appeared to be business travelers. The restaurant is open and airy, with a lot of light. Our starter was delicious, we shared the seafood platter and it had a wide variety of different seafood nibbles, each of which was tasty and distinct. For our mains we went with the bacon wrapped scallops and a braised beef dish that featured dried limes. Both were excellent. The scallops were sweet, the bacon savory and the combination delicious. The rice was well cooked and flavorful. Likewise, the braised beef dish was rich and hearty, with the dried lime adding a really unique and enjoyable flavor component. It was a new taste for me and it really worked. The rice for this dish was well prepared as well. The wait staff was fairly attentive, and the live piano and hammer dulcimer music was a lovely counterpoint to our conversation. We'll likely be back.
This is regarding their open buffet brunch service. Let me start by stating what they don't have. They don't have toast or toaster; no kind of bread other than thin and day+ old pita, no egg station to order any omelette or simple sunny-side-up eggs. They don't have honey/jams either. Coffee is served with cold milk on the side. Service was generally lacking, always taking extra long to do anything. Replacing a dropped fork took 10 mins. Anyway.. What did we get: French toast was OK, as is scrambled eggs. Fruits were mediocre but offered nonetheless. They had eggs benedict, was OK. In conclusion, I would not come to Faz for any buffet meal again. Prices are ridiculously high and were not advertised anywhere.
