Faz Sunnyvale Ratings and Reviews
Premises is dated and an old Calif Pizza Kitchen. Would attract more people if they coated the pizza oven tiles a different color (not the CPK yellow and black). Also, most of the menu is not med/Calif/ethnic so you have to search for items under kabobs (which are very good). Present more ethnic dishes and update the premises and it would be more of a hit. Still, a quiet place in the Silicon jungle.
We were a small group getting together to discuss an upcoming trip. When we explained that to the person at the front she immediately diverted us to another table in the back. It was much quieter there and we were able to talk and work. The meals - we all had either beef or chicken kabob - were excellent. The service was superb. Unfortunately I don't remember our waitress but she was both attentive and courteous of our need to work. Overall, I highly recommend Faz in Sunnyvale. No one would be disappointed.
We came as a group to celebrate a birthday. We waited over an hour and the food didn't come out. We had to go look for someone in the front to ask on the status of our food since we were running late to get back for our meeting. Once the food came out, we rushed thru our meal and pack most it to go back to work.
Very nice intimate dinner for New Years Eve. Attentive waiter gave us attention whenever desired. The meal was very good. I had the filet mignon and a ceaser salad. Both were excellent. The salads are always very fresh. My wife had the chicken kabob and the organic green with feta cheese and walnuts. She loved it.
Excellent service. As we were seated, I said to the hostess “Could we please get water and an order of the Shrimp appetizer right away?” (My wife was famished.) The hostess said “ Certainly” and immediately filled our water glasses. They were kept full throughout the evening, by the way...a pet peeve of mine.
We had the chicken kabob and the salmon entrees. Both good, but nothing spectacular. The green salad was good, as were the 2 desserts- Affogado ( basically, an espresso “float”) and the Baklava. Both I recommend, Especially since they were happy to do the Affogado using decaf espresso!
Wine and coffee were very good. Service was excellent; ambiance very nice. We’ll be back!
We had never tried Faz for breakfast on Sunday, but our family gathering of 6 adults and 3 children under age 10, was excellent for everyone. The buffet was all fresh and delicious. Our server was friendly and always there for coffee refills, and even helped our ten year old at the buffet. They have an outdoor gazebo and fountain area outside the picture window and outdoor patio where the children went after they finished.
I had roast vegetable pizza. It was simple, nothing fancy (didn't even come with a side salad). Nothing wrong with it as such, just quite plain/boring. Skipped dessert. Finished with coffee, which was really pretty bad. Restaurant was fairly empty, but not that surprising given the location. Service was fine, no complaints there. Probably overpriced for the quality of the food & drink.
It does the job adequately and with no fuss if you're staying in the Sheraton (immediately adjacent) and need dinner and aren't too bothered by the prices, but it's not somewhere I'd travel to.
We had a small birthday dinner for my wife. Took place on a Saturday evening.
Restaurant was a little slow, but with a small crowd around. Expected a quiet Saturday dinner because of the commercial location. Actually good idea to have a Saturday dinner here on a Saturday that for that reason. You can carry on a conversation without yelling. Expect weekday to be much different because of the location.
Most of our meals were good. The only exception was my wife's grilled chicken kebab. She noted that it was a little dry. This is the reason for the 4-star.
Great food. Found myself searching 10 minutes to catch any server cor simple thing like a diet coke
refill for the CEO of an important client whom was hostinf the lunch for. Food was excellent as has been case for last 15 years. Management needs to limit the client-to-server ratio (or maybe a server-waiter had called in sick thay day).
