Faz Danville Ratings and Reviews
Maybe it was an off night but it was very off. Servers assistant gave salads to wrong individuals at table. When dinner came , it wasn't ours. There seemed to be a lot of confusion. Dinner was for two tables down from us. When our food came again confusion over who had what. Waitress kind of left us alone not checking on how we were doing. When the bill came it took a while to pay since we were using gift cards. It just seemed there was something wrong that night. Singer in bar didn't help as we all agreed he was terrible. We will visit again as this was our first mediocre experience at FAZ.
We went to Faz for the first time in September 2017, because we had a part of 5 and could not get in to any other good Danville place (Esin, Piatti's , Bridges, etc.) at our desired time of 6:30 pm. The place was empty when we arrived and I was worried that maybe there was a bad reason for that. However, the service was excellent and the food very good too. We will be going back. They had only three beers on tap and a limited wine selection, but luckily we found items we liked.
We had friends from Sacramento area over on Wednesday night so we decided to go dinner at Faz in Danville not only because of the food but also due to beautiful outdoor setting especially in the evening with the outdoor lights on. It was a Wednesday evening I think that they were having a slow night we had no problem moving from one table to another due to squirrels jumping from tree to tree and twigs were falling from the beautiful redwoods which helps make the ambience even better.
We started inside at the bar during happy hour, all 4 of us had a cocktail and also wine, we all felt that the bartender wasn't to friendly but the drinks were ok. They had a large group of people that hang out at the bar they come twice a month on Wednesday's to sing play piano and just have some fun. We listen to a couple people sing before we were seated at our table outside we were able to pick our table due to being so quite. The flat bread and dip was delicious. We enjoyed our wine an appetizer before ordering dinner our server Liz was very good she has a great attitude also very patience with us on ordering also helping us with our questions that we had about the menu, food was served hot and on a timely fashion between courses. Needless to say everyone was very happy with their meal.
We will go back and will also recommend this restaurant to our family and friends.
Enjoyed sharing a meal with my adult son and we spent the entire evening talking until closing time. The staff was accommodating and helpful.
At first we were placed at a very small table over the A/C vent by a very noisy group. But when we asked we were moved to a nice table by the window where the noise level didn't interfere with our ability to converse.
Since it was only one week past my birthday we were served a delicious Tiramisu. Thank you so much for this added pleasure!
Celebrated a birthday. I normally love the outside atmosphere but we got invaded by wasps this time so we moved inside. The Mahi mahi was tasty and my husband got a cheesecake with a candle for his birthday treat. Server was very attentive. I have been to Faz several times and always enjoy it.
This is a wonderful place. There was a concert on a nearby street that added to the noise level. Without it (normal,) it would have been great. Their in-house piano player provides delightful dinner music. Service was a little slow, but a good-natured waiter and people-watching made it not a problem. They seemed to be short-staffed that night. Food was great. I recommend.
The courtyard is beautiful... like sitting in a Tahoe resort surrounded by redwoods. Food is always good, especially the flatbreads. They aren't open for lunch or on Sundays which is sad, but a favorite of ours. The manager always stops by each table to be sure that his guests are well taken care of.
The food was really good, but our server would leave for long periods of time. We ran out of drinks, and waited a super long time for each part of our meal service and even the check at the end. She only had some conversation when dropping off the check to us, Hmm!
Been going to Faz for years now, but don't go often enough, partially because the restaurant isn't open on Sunday or Monday, two nights that we would typically want to go out to avoid some of the Friday/Saturday night crowds. But this time we did visit with a friend of ours visiting from SF, and he was in awe of the wonderful redwood filled back deck area, where we had our dinner. The setting is wonderful, the food above par, and the service was excellent. Definitely recommend it as the menu isn't pricey, food is tasty, and the portions are nicely sized.
Like Faz a lot, normally have good service until this dinner. Waitress was totally put off when we ordered two salads and a $15 appetizer - no entrees. It was a Thursday night and not terribly busy. Still over $50 without her tip. When we said "thank you, that was perfect", her response was a snarky, "well glad that did it for ya".
My wife and I received two gift certificates for Faz, so we have dined there twice. On each occasion we had delicious food, served by staff who took good care of us. The owner/manager is present, overseeing the process, and always drops by the table to check on us.
The outdoor patio at the center of the restaurant is beautiful - tall redwood trees and nice landscaping enhance the experience.
We are long time local residents who dined at Faz years ago and just came back for a Birthday Dinner. Summer is a great time to dine on the patio under the redwoods. Even though it was busy, it was not loud nor were we rushed. We started with the fried calamari and salads. I had the Pomegranate Chicken, which is one of their signature dishes, my wife had the salmon and son had the kabobs. All were all very flavorful. The owner came by to greet us and we talked about mutual friends. For Mediterranean cuisine this is the best place in the San Ramon Valley.
Faz in Danville from my point of view is "Fine" the food is good, the restaurant is more tailored to an older clientele. The back patio is awesome and could be fun, but it's very dry and not lively at all. Fine if you are looking for a quiet place to eat with Grandparents. Not the best for a social group under 45 years of age.
Dined there on June 28, 2017 and enjoyed friendly and helpful service and delicious food. All enjoyed the Persian Kiss cocktail. Just right for a warm summer evening, by a window or outside on the beautiful deck. People seemed to be having a great time with music and singing in the lounge but noise level wasn't any problem for us. Note: they apparently don't do anything to celebrate birthdays (we asked twice), so Faz is probably not be best place for a family birthday or anniversary dinner. Otherwise, we'll definitely look forward to returning soon.
