Food and service were good. My chicken was dry but tasty. They add a 6% surcharge
which is probably not going to go well. Most people do not like these add on charges
on top of everything else.
No AC on 110 degree day and the decor needs updating. Food was fine. And good service.
Good food, great service and good value. Recommend you try it and enjoy.
Everything thing was great, as usual. However, it was a hot day with outside temp at 96 degrees outside. They didn’t have the air conditioning on inside the restaurant and it was uncomfortably warm in the dining room.
Great place to have a relaxed meal. The outside setting is gorgeous.
Great food and great atmosphere!
Faz is one of our favorite places to dine. The quality of food and the service is always consistent and superb. The ambiance, both indoors and outdoors is very nice. I highly recommend this place.
Had angus burger. It was dry and tasteless.
Very poor service. Had reservations and arrived on time, had to wait for 10 minutes a host come and seat us. It took forever somebody come and take our order. I will not going back again. I won't recommend to anyone go to this restaurant.
The restaurant was under staffed. Our server was way behind and this was on Father’s Day with reservations and a fixed menu. Our table was not bussed once during three courses, cocktails and wine. Dirty plates were shoved around as the next course was set. Empty glasses were everywhere as they tried to find room for a dessert platter that was not as advertised. The lamb dish was horrible. It was poached and fried maybe? The polenta was cold.
It is a shame because the atmosphere is lovely but this restaurant is never going to be on my list again.
Absolutely stunning venue and great food! Sitting outside feels like you are dining in the redwoods. So pretty!!!
main course took way too long to get served to us despite the prie-fixe menu and our late lunch reservation to avoid the lunch rush, with me having to actually go inside and ask one of the staff/waiters to follow up on our table. Nice old guy.
my complimentary champagne also seem to have been forgotten until I called it out after a while.
The old guy did make up to us (even though he wasn't our waiter) and gave us a "complimentary" bottle of their house BBQ sauce and did not charge us only 4 of the 5 person in my family. Kudos to that, but I'd rather really not have to go through either party having to "make up".
I still have to ding stars from them this time. I am that frustrated.
Having said all that, still, I come here occasionally with either friends, family or both and we all love the place, the food and the service then. This one looks like, and I do hope this one was just, a fluke.
Excellent. It was very hot though in the atrium.
Nice ambiance. Great inner patio surrounded my redwoods. Reasonable prices.
Horrible experience. Made a reservation for 2 people for 7pm. Arrived and asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor, in that heat we asked for indoor thinking the AC would be on. Boy were we wrong!!!! Stuffy, NO AC, where we were seated there was a blast of warm air being blown. The doors were left open leading to the patio area, not sure if their ac wasn’t working but awful. The worst part was we were seated and sat there for 15 minutes and no one came to greet us. Bring us water or utensils. We just sat and waited. Finally we got up and left and told the young lady hostess at the front and her response was oh I’m sorry did you want me to get someone to serve you? DO NOT GO HERE! Don’t waste your time. Awful service.
Service was really slow. Champagne had to be chilled which was odd. Took forever to get even a hello then drinks. Food came out and it was very delicious so it made up for the bad service. Place needs a little bit of a refresh the space is gorgeous but just not a very fun exciting place to have a friends dinner.
Loved being back in person. The staff worked so hard to get our order out.
Excellent ambience, good food and friendly service.
The service was outstanding, helped by the fact we were the only 2 in there. But he was attentive and did everything he needed to. The ambiance is 90's hotel restaurant vibe. It looks really fancy outside but it's a timewarp once you get in. There are so many tables everywhere, I can imagine if the place was ever full it would be incredibly loud, but, I'm fairly certain that's safe not to happen.
The cocktails were good, the wine list ok but the food was fair at best. First, the place has an identity crisis. If it's Mediterranean, there are a couple of dishes that make it so, the rest of the menu is more of a confused steakhouse, maybe? We started with the combination dip of tzatziki, baba ghanoush and hummus. The tzatziki was very thick and flavorless, the baba ghanoush was very slimy, the hummus was fine. We had the chicken kabob and pomegranate chicken entrees and I had a Greek salad. The chicken in both dishes was very dry. The pomegranate chicken did have a good flavor. The kabob was completely flavorless. If there was any seasoning on the meat, I couldn't tell. Both were served with a combination of green beans and red peppers. The beans were cooked well. The highlight of the meal was the Greek salad. It wasn't anything special, but was better than the rest. Veggies were crisp and the dressing was very good.
Probably won't be back. For $120, can get 10 kabobs at the local shop.
The food was great, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the ambiance was great!
Great spot to celebrate my sons birthday. Lovely meal of angus steak for him and he loved his meal. I had lamb shank and always good. I would love to have veggies with my entree and only served rice.
My husband had fettuccine marco polo and tad bit spicy for him. Had some great calamari for starter and tasty!
Nice atmosphere and pretty setting..
We will be back.
Forgot how lovely the outside dining is. Back in CA visiting, so nice to see Faz has made it thru the shutdowns
5 stars across the board! Thank you for a beautiful evening
The food, atmosphere, and food was very enjoyable. We ate on the patio which was wonderful.
Really nice dinner experience at Faz. The patio is very tranquil, nice and open, with good social distance between tables. Service is top notch, owner/manager checked on us to see how our meal was. Food was pretty good-appetizers, drinks, and main course very satisfying. I'd go there again, especially for the ambiance. They have their own parking lot, so that was convenient and they're right on Hartz Ave, so nice walking access to downtown.
We spent a lovely evening at Faz Danville and I have to say from the food to the service to the ambience everything was absolutely A rated. The Marco Polo shrimp fettucini was perfect to the T. The server was well informed about the dishes and the restaurant manager also checked on us a few times to make sure we were well taken care of. Very impressive. Will definitely recommend
Thank you Maher
Really beautiful setting on the patio. Staff was very nice. Fresh pita was delicious but wished they would’ve kept refilling instead of us having to request.
All the food was delicious. They were super accommodating and allowed me to bring my own cake to celebrate the graduating kids.
We love going to Faz! Delicious food and always a pleasure to see, Maher Karjawally, the Manager. Looking forward to our next dinner at Faz.
Lovely outdoor area, friendly staff, delicious food!
Good food, great service.
FAZ never disappoints! We changed up the menu up a little bit for our family get together and were elated with the choices. The braised lamb was tender and the rice with herbs and vegetables plus the sauce was exotic. The Angus steak was juicy and made to perfection. The prawn appetizer had a delicious curry sauce. Looking forward to our next dine in.
The General Manager, Maher was so amazing, kind, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Awesome service and food, not to mention the ambiance was great as well!
Our first time, after threatening to try it many times, and we were impressed with the service and delicious food.
Boring menu, service was slow, had to repeatedly ask for more water, a little priced for the type of food.
Wonderful and warm service. We always feel welcomed. Lamb and pork chops were superb.
Overbooked, seated 55 minutes after reservation, order taken 25 minutes after that, came out 25 minutes later to say they were out of one of the items, then the appetizers came another 25 minutes after that along with our drinks (50 minutes after being seated). Drinks were comped but nothing else.
Covid protcols not followed, tables were seated closer together than allowed and tables weren’t being turned in allotted time but also not being served timely so unable to turn over as quickly as required. Poorly managed but we wanted to be sure to tip the servers as they were hustling.
On an evening with reservations needed and a prix fixe menu, in the 1.5 hours that we were seated:
- We saw our waitress a grand total of ONE time
- Our drinks were not served
- Our food was not served
- We saw others tables literally standing up in attempt to wave down staff for help
When we went to inform the staff that we were leaving, the response was "Ok, well we won't charge you" - excuse me but charge us for what? Our drinks and food that never came?
If this was a normal, unexpected rush that the restaurant got caught short-handed for, I could give some leeway. However in times of Covid, with reservations needed, it's not possible to assume they were caught off-guard.
I sincerely hope that the owners understand that by attempting to cheap out on not hiring enough staff to handle the customer volume, they are losing more money in the process by having customers (such as myself) never return.
This was the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. We waited 3 hours to get our main course, and when it arrived the food was terrible. We ended up leaving without even eating the food. Absolutely not worth it!!!!
Wonderful day with tremendous food and service. Outside patio was beautiful
