Food was mediocre and expensive. We took two bites of one of our dishes and couldnt eat any more. Was asked for feedback we said it was super fishy and over cooked. It was taken away but not removed from our bill. Server was good but we went for food and it was disappointing. Wouldnt recommend or return
As a traveler who dines out many times per month, I’m always on the lookout for restaurants that stand above the crowd. Fayuca certainly does. The food is outstanding, fresh, and cleverly executed; the service is exceptional. A very high recommendation.
Fantastic new restaurant in yaletown. Modern Mexican done so well.
The food taste amazing and overall very good value. the only problem I had with my last meal was the pork dish that promised cactus and there was no where to be found on the dish...
Great hidden gem. Nice interior design we working of the former restaurant. Interesting food choices such as cactus and beef cheeks. Server was excellent.
Food was amazing. SErvice was top notch. A little dark at dinner
Met and exceeded my expectations :-) I had the Chicken with Kale and Rice it was phenominal ( sorry dont remember the mexican name of the dish), really hit the spot after a hard pilates session in the morning. A great spot for Business Lunch.
Am from Calgary, but had heard about this place through various channels (friends, supper club, etc.) so made a point of going when I had occasion to visit Vancouver with friends. Did not disappoint! Food was absolutely amazing - cocktails were great, as was the service. Not the cheapest place around, but you absolutely get what you pay for. The dishes were all super creative - I think the guacamole and the lamb belly were particular hits at our table.
Food was amazing!! Will definitely come back again.
Thank you Fayuca for another amazing dining experience!
So glad we tried this restaurant. Everything we ordered tasted marvelous. Next time we’ll try the mezcal!!
Food was slow and asked for extra hot sauce and tortillas (asked three separate times) which took forever...
2nd visit to Fayuca. Another lovely experience. A couple of the dishes we tried were not as exceptional as hoped; probably just personal taste. Otherwise, a really great night and would definitely visit again!
We showed up early for our dinner reservation but there was no table available so we asked if we could just eat from the bar. Perfect spot to watch the most delicious guacamole made in front of us and chat with all the staff. Kaitlin our server took great care of us. Fun ambiance and family style servings. Cocktails were unique. And definite save room for dessert. We were celebrating a birthday and they bright candle with dessert sweet surprise.
The food is not mexican and does not taste great either, so really there is nothing interesting there other than the decoration of the place which is nice.
The staff were very friendly, the food and cocktails were excellent. They have a great menu that worked well to accommodate allergies, vegetarians, and carnivores alike.
Lovely food, definitely on the higher price for 'mains'. Busy on Friday night, we didn't get drinks for 15 minutes.. and the waiter could have advised us not to order to of the 'mains' as we drastically over-ordered and ended up taking over half of it home. I think it's the waiter's job to help advise and guide with the menu selection. We were at a side table that had quite a bright light over it, I'd avoid that table if you're planning to go.
real mexican food from today. by one of the best chefs in mexico.
I was in Vancouver visiting friends for my birthday and visited Fayuca. This was such a great dining experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with great service. The food was so tasty! The flavors were just perfect! I was so happy that Fayuca was a part of my weekend. Thank you!!
The service was ok, a few of the dishes were quite bland.. lacking flavor and / or seasoning. When I politely informed the waiter he took my uneaten dish away, but didn’t take it off my bill. Just gave us a free dessert. I might go back, kind of unsure at this point
Excellent authentic Mexican food in a great space in Yaletown. Was super quiet at lunch (they've just added lunch to their menu). Homemade tortillas are excellent. The ceviche was a highlight.
The food was very good. My wife is celiac and had no issues with the menu and was able to enjoy a very nice meal.
I would suggest ordering in flights as opposed to ordering all together. This allowed us to enjoy each course and not be inundated with a ton of flavors all at once.
All-in-all this was an option that had great appeal and when returning to Vancouver it will definitely be on the list of options for us.
Excellent. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Dynamite service and the food outstanding! I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion .
We went in expecting a fusion Mexican restaurant - i think it was more fusion and less Mexican :)
We had all the vegetarian options and perhaps they don't cater much to the vegetarians. Overall i would rate it to be a "fair" experience
The food was amazing I was expecting more of a Mexican cuisine but still a great combination of Mexican ingredients. Freshly made tortillas was a big PLUS! Drinks are average nothing special but it’s worth going to experience what the rest offers.
The ambiance when we arrived wasn’t the greatest as it was earlier in the evening so all the lights were on full. The food was tasty but nothing spectacular. The service was spotty - the timing was off - sometimes too fast and sometimes too slow. One of our dishes came plates on top of our tortillas - we didn’t discover them until finishing the dish. Obviously the server didn’t know what the dish was. The drinks were ok but also nothing to write home about. Not sure I would go again.
Beef cheeks and Oxtail pasta were very good
We wanted to take my mom out for her birthday, somewhere new. My mother is Italian so we knew flavour would be important. The food was amazing...we ordered 5 shared dishes and then our own main (I don’t like sharing everything 😉). We didn’t leave a crumb on any of the dishes...and we laughed because we thought if we were in a more private area of the restaurant we would have licked our plates!!! The flavours were incredible but not overpowering so we could really taste the delicious freshness of the food. My mom loved Fayuca and we will definitely be coming back. I would also like to mention that the service was great and we were not rushed out of there!
Thank you Martine for the beautiful desserts! What a lovely, thoughtful surprise!!!
After forgetting about my wine, then bringing a rose when I ordered a red, it ended up being the smallest pour I’ve ever seen, well under 6oz. Food was alright (there’s a lot better places) and service was mediocre at best.
Really enjoyed Fayuka both times I've been. The food is unique and delicious. I love the cauliflower which is grilled and delicious. The guacamole is served with pumpkin seeds and crumbled feta, and I think it is the best in the city. The beef was melt in your mouth tender. All in all, Fayuka is a great addition to the food scene in Vancity
Food was creative, good portions and cool atmosphere. Service was helpful and friendly. Vancouver needs more creative Mexican! Fayuca is a great choice.
Food was good and inventive - definitely not your typical Mexican restaurant. Cocktails were average (I've had much better margaritas elsewhere) and overpriced. Service was poor. Probably waited over 20 minutes after being seated just to be acknowledged by the server - and it was not overly busy in the restaurant.
Not like any Mexican restaurant we know. We are from Mexico and did not recognize the flavor of the food as belonging to any particular region. Also, this is NOT a kid friendly restaurant. Leave the little ones at home.
Sat at the bar and has a great time. We tried a few plates and a few cocktails, and were quite impressed. We will be back again with a bigger group!
Three of us visited Fayuca on a rainy Tuesday evening in February. It was just the way to cap a day of adventure in Yaletown and around the False Creek area. The food became part of that adventure! The theme is Baja California but it's not your typical Mexican fare. The guacamole with crispy sunchokes was chunky and delicious. I could have eaten that all night. The grilled cactus and the red rice in green almond sauce were tasty vegetarian options, the Mexican seafood stew and an oxtail pasta interesting for seafood lovers and carnivores alike. I could imagine this type of cuisine in a refined local restaurant far from the zona turistica. Thanks, we had a wonderful meal.
Service was really great. We went for dine out, which I always end up disappointed with. I think I will go back and try a regular night off the regular menu.
Slightly disappointing. We were there for dine out and the portions were quite small. We ordered an additional appetizer and were still hungry after the meal. The cocktails were amazing and the tomatillo salsa was great as well. The mains were so tiny and didn't have much protein, maybe two bites. Very strange. It was a fun atmosphere though. The service was pretty bad.
Creative & tasty dishes. Menu description doesn't do the dishes justice. Relaxed atmosphere and attentive service
The cocktails were fantastic, the food was good. Service was really bad - we were seated (reserved) at the bar - we were handed off to someone that semi-ignored us. At one point, neither of us had water and our cocktails were empty. Nonetheless, the restaurant ambiance is really nice. The poor service experience just left a bad taste, so not sure we would return because of that.
With seven friends for the amazing dine out menu at Fayuca!Service and food were great..thank you Fayuca for a lovely experience!
