Birthday dinner. We have dined here many times. It wasn’t crowded this time so it was quiet (can be noisy when full). Fabulous food. BYOB can’t beat the office the quality. We will dine here again
Always guaranteed a great meal at the Fayette Street Grille. Been dining here for over 15 years with my wife and friends. "New" menu options when we dined here last Saturday, April 14. Highly recommend this Conshy find!
My wife & I are long-time patrons of the restaurant, though we haven't been there since last summer. It's always been one of our favorite neighborhood spots. Every occasion-- til now-- was delightful. We wanted to introduce friends to the creative cuisine in this lovely prix fixe BYOB. We and they were disappointed. The crabcake appetizer was bland at best; my wife left half of hers. My "tavern egg" appetizer seemed like an interesting offering, but was essentially nothing more than an overdone poached egg. My tuna, served rare, was tasty-- but only after I wiped it clean of a heavily-laden wasabi concoction that would've rendered it inedible-- and I'm a fan of spicy foods! One of our friends ordered chicken with pasta-- and took the entire entrée "home" (or so she said). My wife later told me that it looked very unappetizing. I don't know whether this was an off-night or the result of new personnel.
The good news: Our server, Valerie, was a lovely and attentive young woman.
The food is excellent. The service is unobtrusive and knowledgable. While the number of selections are somewhat limited, they are nicely different in both content and presentation. More words accomplish little in this review. If you have never dined here, you're missing a delightful dining experience. Go! You won't regret the evening. And, the price is low. What more could you want!
Always excellent! We’ve been customers for about 20 years and are never disappointed.
Excellent food and service
We live this place and keep coming back. We were celebrating birthdays and had a wonderful time. I love that they change the menus based on the seasons. Everything was Delicious!!!! The clam appetizer melted in your mouth, and the broth was wonderful for dipping. Enjoyed the fish special, sweet potatos and awesome deserts. This is always a first class meal.
Great food, lovely ambience and terrific staff. Each dessert was big enough to feed the entire table!
So noisy we had to yell across the table
Always a great 3 course meal. Service is very friendly and servers are knowledgeable of preparation of food.
Fayette Street Grill offers tremendous value with their price fixed menu and the service is amazing
Great dinner and experience as always! Very enjoyable birthday dinner for my husband!
Mussels n bass were excellent 👍
Noise level got a little loud
Service was slow, although the two servers were clearly working hard. Food was inconsistent - some dishes (arctic char special) were great, others not so much (baked tavern egg was too salty due to abundance of prosciutto, while the risotto that came with the bass was incredibly bland). Biggest disappointment was one of the two desserts - "bourbon apple tarte." Not a tarte at all! A turnover (tasted like Pepperidge Farm out of the freezer) with a few minced apples inside the soggy puff pastry, swimming in applesauce. There was a lot of it, but that wasn't a selling point.
Our server Valarie was very knowledgeable about the menu items and she was super pleasant. Will be back again soon
Always great meal and service. None o f our favorite restaurant's.
This has always been one of our favorite spots and frequent it often. We have never had a bad experience and the menu is always awesome.
This was our first time and we will be back. Great meal and fabulous service - the lovely staff person who seated us is a true gem.
We consider ourselves "foodies" and this is one of our "go to" places. Our waitress was excellent as are all the others. I had the escargot which was very flavorful. The others had salads, which they all enjoyed. My entre (veal loin chop) was a bit overcooked and was sent back but returned immediately and more to my liking. Everyone in our group (all 4) were very pleased with their meal. It is a bit noisy but they always do a very good job. I give it high marks!
They only negative I have is the menu doesn't change enough. I would suggest changing a least once every 3 months, with a healthy choice that's lower in fat content.
Cozy and friendly. The servers go out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. Food great, had to wait a long time for dessert. Wish they offered a soup. Some people don’t like dessert, so an option such as 2 appetizers would be nice.
We are never disappointed! Always a great meal. Generous portions! Love this restaurant.
Three courses (appetizer, entree and desert) at a fixed price of $38 pp. Lots of choices plus a special appetizer and entree. The deserts are great.
Excellent New Year's Eve meal.
New Years Eve menu was good and our waitress was superb. But we were seated too close to the door and subject to 12 people standing above us watching us eat and hoping for a table sooner....even when it wasn't our table that they were reserved for. I'll return to FGS but never again on NYE.
Food is always the best! Great selections. Cooked to perfection.
this my second visit but first on a weekend. far toooooo noisy on saturday nite...we couldn't hear our friends talk or ourselves for that matter! would return but only during the week
I was drawn to the stuffed crab cake. This was an appetizer but the waitress suggested that they can make this my Entrée, delicious!
We have eaten here many times and it’s the first time we have been disappointed. I had reservations for over a month but we still had a significant wait (and there is no place to wait!).
Food was good but it took a really long time to get it.
Reservation was at 7 and we didn’t leave till almost 10:30.
It was recommended by a friend and the food was good, as was the service. It was extremely loud as there was a party of about nine people who seemed to want to out shout each other during drinks and dinner.
This was not their best effort. Food was very under seasoned and cold when it came to the table. The printed menu offerings had little resemblance to what came to the table . Service was extremely slow. Have been here many times and had excellent meals. On this night leftovers at home would have been better
It’s a good neighborhood BYOB.
It’s friendly and cosy.
Very nice staff and excellent service
Lot’s of for the price
We’ve been going for 10 years
FOOD AND SERVICE ARE ALWAYS EXCELLENT. VERY WELL THOUGHT OUT MENU SELECTIONS. GREAT DESSERTS! ( SAVE ROOM!)
Food is always great and the staff is very friendly.
The food and service were excellent. The noise level is very high.
Everything was very good at this restaurant. The food, location, availability, service. The desserts are ridiculous! Highly recommend and I will be back.
Went on Friday 11/10. The special appetizer of crab cake was delicious. The salad a friend ordered looked great. And my husband's escargot was ok. My scallops , the dinner special, were great. But my husband ordered the steak with the $3 Up charge, and it was very chewy. The desserts were very good. We have been here many times and would definitely go back again.
Food was unique and well prepared.
First dining experience here under the new management. So happy they kept some delicious favorites: the hot crab dip, seared duck, fish entrée options and bread pudding dessert. Noise level is the same…high. But as one who has dined there with a large group and also been rather loud I can completely understand how it happens and expect it.
My husband and I had a relaxing evening with good food and wonderful service. The price was very reasonable and it is BYO which is great.
