We met friends on a quiet Sunday evening. We had exceptional service and the food is always good.
We have been going to FSG for years and have always found it a great value. This trip was a big disappointment. The menu has been "dumbed" down, likely to maintain a price point by offering fewer quality selections. For example, no escargot, no beef entree (even with an upcharge), no dark side of the moon chocolate cake, etc. By 7 pm on Saturday night, there were only two pork chops left. Most diners hadn't even been seated yet at that time. We had three lamb shanks at the table, two were cooked well, the third was not braised properly. Two chocolate cakes for dessert, one was perfect, the other dry. My piece of butter cake looked like it had a bite taken out of it. The server explained that the crust fell off when plated, but frankly, it shouldn't have been served that way. The selection, quality and consistency have definitely fallen way off. Sorry to say, no need to return.
wonderful food. delicious prix fix menu. my only complaint is the noise level. great service
not what it used to be. some food ordinary. other poor/
We had an enjoyable get-together. The food was very good and the service was great,
Great quiet atmosphere that is perfect for a date night/intimate night out with a friend or loved one.
This restaurant is always good. Interesting selections and very good prices.
Never disappointed...always delicious...and wonderful staff.
This place is always amazing!!! Great food, service and the price is very reasonable.
Had not been there for a while, so happy we returned. Took a relative from New York and he was very pleased. Usually don’t have dessert, but it was delicious and we like the fact that all was made on premises. Very satisfying evening.
Good food, our server was excellent. When we arrived WITH a reservation the only table still available was in the doorway. We were informed if we wanted to wait for a more desirable table, we could be seated as soon as one cleared, but we would only have an hour to eat as that table was part of a large reservation arriving later. We agreed to the one hour limit but we felt very rushed as people were starting to line up in the doorway. We have been to Fayette Street Grill many, many times over the past 10 years and are always pleased with the food but not on a Saturday night. They have great bread & desserts are made in house, so well worth the splurge. It’s usually noisy but it was extra noisy on the night we visited. Pluses definitely exceed any negatives. NOTE: ask for the high top table in the front window. We were able to reserve that on one occasion and it is by far the best seat in the house.
Great restaurant in conshocken we just wish it was closer for us to get together again.
DON'T GO AT 5. Hours are stated and posted as opening at 5-our reservations were for 5. It was dark and locked when we got there. Finally we called and someone picked up and they came and opened the front door-but no one had started in the kitchen yet so we didn't get fed until almost 6. They had a steak feature. I explained I wanted the steak steakhouse medium rare, and if they weren't sure-to do it rare. It came out medium. They offered to redo it, but we'd been waiting an hour already. The food was OK and the price very reasonable- $39 prix fixe for appetizer, dinner with sides and desert. I think if we had tried to go at 5:30 or 6 it would have been a much better experience.
My wife and I have always loved Fayette Street Grill. As Conshy residents, it’s a short walk and always represents a tremendous value in that the food you get seems much more expensive than the actuality of the prix fixe cost. The ownership recently changed with their long time Chef Sugalski buying the place. From what we can tell, this means more frequent menu changes and taking some very delicious chances with the menu.
This time we started with Beef Kebobs and an Egg Dip appetizer. Both were amazing. We then both had the Lamb Shank, which literally fell off the bone when you touched it. We both loved it, agreeing it was the best dish we’ve experienced in a while (and we go out to eat a lot). Dessert was a tasty, but subtle, banana creme brûlée, and an apple crisp that was more like an apple cake, but still delicious.
The decor hasn’t been updated, which is the only knock on the place: the decor is charming, but dated. It’s certainly no dive, but the interior could use a freshening up.
The star here is the food that Chef Sugalski prepares, though. We’ll be back soon before the menu changes again. There’s more on this menu to explore. Just don’t forget to bring your favorite wine :)
We returned after only two week and found the food and service top notch as we had found it before. Probably one of the best fish dishes I have had in. Long time and the service was excellent again even though the place was fully booked.
We had a wonderful dinner here. It is a fixed prix menu and there are many good options to choose from. It is also a BYOB. Valerie was our waitress and she was very good.
The food was fantastic and coupled with the ambiance of small, privately run restaurant with excellent attention to customer service and enjoyment, it is hard to match.
Food was delicious, came with three friends and we all sampled each others meals. Fabulous, and desserts were great as well!! Needs to be redecorated and new carpeting, tho!!
This is one of the best byob restaurants in the Philly area . Our hostess/waitress, Valerie, was exceptionally friendly and efficient. The food was outstanding. I had the Mediterranean Bass which was one of the best fish dishes I have had in the philly area They have a three course offering for $39. Including choice of starter, large selection of entrees and several delicious deserts
Highly recommend it to couples who like small, unique cozy places
The food at Fayette Street Grille is always very good and most times outstanding. It is a favorite and we know we will get a tasty meal. Desserts are wonderful - esp. crime brûlée.
I liked the intimate vibe but the whole night just didn't come together quite as it should have. The service was outstanding. The appetizers - terrific. The entrees only OK. My strip steak was one huge hunk of meat that was a bit gristly.
We enjoyed the evening, but probably would not go back.
The appetizers and the desserts were extraordinary. The two main courses we had were unseasoned and bland. I wish I would have ordered a second appetizer instead of an entree. The server was fabulous!
Love the place, never disappoints. Food and service here are hard to beat.
We eat here two or three times a year. Love the fact that it is a fixed price and a BYOB. I also like the fact that the menu changes from time to time. There is something for everyone. The service has always been great. The food is great and the presentation is wonderful.. There are also several good desserts to choose from. It is not a local place for us but it is certainly worth the drive. I do give it 5 stars.
My one and only complaint is the fact when the restaurant is full, it is a little noisy. However it doesn’t stop us from going back.
We love this place. Always a good time and nice menu. Lee and staff are outstanding.
Great prix fixe menu with fresh seafood and steaks. BYOB so you can enjoy your favorite adult beverages.
Have been dining here for years, great BYOB with a menu that suits everyone. The fish and duck entrées are always perfectly prepared and our groups personal favorite for dessert that night was the peach cobbler!
Gr eat food and service. Very welcoming. Will go back.
Brie was an awesome app. Duck was phenomenal and the butter cake was fantastic.
This was my second time eating at the Fayette Street Grille. I like that it is a byob. I also didn’t mind the prix fix menu, Which I thought was
reasonably priced. I was unimpressed with the starters. I ordered a shrimp cocktail, hoping for some meaty large shrimp and unfortunately the shrimp were small and soft, like salad shrimp. My husband had a veal stuffed onion, that had very little flavor. The main courses were very good, but portions were small. I had the sea bass, which was buttery and cooked perfectly, and my husband had a steak which he really enjoyed. We had the chocolate creme brûlée and bread pudding for dessert. Both were good. I would go back here because of the BYOB and the food. Our friends enjoyed it but my prior experience was better.
The food was excellent and the best (dessert) was saved for last!
The noise level is horrible. The fish was tasty. Some of the food was too mushy. The peach dessert was really mushy. The waitress was the best part of the meal.
Great service and awesome food..all five of us enjoyed our meals..will def go back!
Great place to eat. Been going here for about 20 years. Saturday nights can get really noisy.
Our dinner was amazing along with the friendly and pleasant staff.
Chef Jim has a goldmine there in Conshohocken.
Ordered the steak. Just so-so. Lot of fatty strains, not edible. Esgargot good. Dessert ok. Service acceptable. Deleted the steak from our bill. Will try again.
Every time we visit the food is amazing, the service is incredible and we leave full and happy. One of the best dining experiences in town and I would say the best BYOB around. We love the revolving menu and the opportunity to try food that is not common in a typical American cuisine restaurant.
We love coming here. The food is always outstanding, the menu changes seasonally, and the service is top notch.
We went for dinner for our anniversary. The three course prix fixe menu has a lot of good choices, especially the appetizers. It's BYO, which we prefer. We had escargot for the appetizer and duck for the main course, and both were excellent. For dessert we had chocolate creme brulee and cannoli cake - very rich and the cake was a large portion. They were also very tasty. Even the decaf coffee was good and so was the cappuccino. Service was very friendly and efficient, even when it got crowded and there was only one waitress.
Gourment menu and cuisine at an affordable price.
A gem on Fayette street in Conshohocken.
Am from Boston area and was visiting family here and will visit again.
