The restaurant was in an ideal location for our clients who had just flow in to SFO. We were seated quickly and in a quiet spot as requested. The service was very good, not intrusive and staff kept the water glasses full. All entrees, Pappadelle, Gnocchi, Branzino and Risotto were solid dishes that everyone enjoyed. I would recommend this restaurant and go back when the opportunity presents itself.
My daughter and I had dinner on Saturday. My daughter really enjoyed her crab & pasta dish--creamy, rich and tasty. I had a seafood pasta dish which was equally tasty; however, it was disconcerting to have my pasta inked by the squid ink. Black pasta & sauce isn't appetizing to look at. I had to continually wipe my mouth for fear of a goth lip liner look. My teenager finally admonished, "Mom, bite and wipe." LOL The bread's delicious and the server, Alberto, was terrific--attentive, timely, and unobtrusive. I had dinner earlier in the week and asked Alberto about the honey vinegarette which wasn't listed on the menu. As it happens, it was specially made for the event I had attended and a batch was made for another event coming up. He kindly offered the vinegarette which my daughter and I loved. Excellent salad. I don't drink alcohol so cannot speak to the wine list. I'd return again.
Delicious as always! My husband and I love this place. We ordered salads and a pizza to share and it was perfect. The pepperoni pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had in a long time. The Nutella bread pudding was delicious.
There are better options around I'm sure. The service was acceptable - they didn't seem to have my reservation - but the food was only OK.
The burrata didn't seem especially fresh, though the presentation was OK. The pasta was overcooked, though there was a lot of it, in fact I didn't eat it all.
1st time visit. Excellent. Went to the bar 1st. Huge bar. Wife had a wine and I grabbed a draft brew. Stated out with a carpaccio. Really good. No red onion, which for some reason most other Italian restaurants seem to use. I'm from Philly. Weaned on carpaccio. So don't know what these people out here are thinking about. There is no red onion in carpaccio. Wife had the smoked mussels and then a pizza, good pizza as they use a brick oven. I had an osso buco of the veal variety. Beautiful... bone up. Braised to a tender perfection and sat on polenta. I will be back.
The place was empty and I can't understand why other than it is not downtown Burlingame. Located off broadway near the car dealers so not a good location.
We have given this restaurant several tries, but have consistently been disappointed. It is usually practically empty, which should be an indicator of less than an enjoyable dining experience. The service was slow, wine/ beer options limited. We also found the menu to be limited, and mediocre. This will most likely be our last visit.
From the moment my wife and I got there, it was great. We've eaten there before but the restaurant had a different name. Compared to menu from before, the new menu and chef is excellent and our server was great as well. We tried a recommendation from our server that was one of their specials and it was far better than we expected.
Had a wonderful dinner at Fattoria E Mare. The restaurant is on the frontage road of Highway 101. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful booth in the back of the restaurant. The service was fantastic. The hostess kept checking on us to be sure we were being taken good care of by her wait staff.
I recommend the back ink risotto. This is a not a dish you find on most Italian menus. The dish was outstanding!!! My girlfriend had a terrific pizza. Tell the waitress that you want to create your own pizza and they will make it for you.

I went to this restaurant the very week that they opened a couple years ago, I believe. At that time I felt that the food was rather good and was excited that there might be a nice new restaurant in this area. I can always tell about a place by how well they do their bolognese pasta, and it was very good.
On that first visit I chalked up the fact that they had just opened their doors and that they would get it together as far as service, especially. But on this recent visit I see it is still a bit odd. Not sure what all it is - there were only a few diners when I dined and the service was off, which should not be when they are not rushed and busy. Server did not seem to know how to discuss the menu - which was very same complaint I had on first visit. Poorly trained staff, no enthusiasm for their job. The layout of the place is odd and ambience is quite lacking. The prices are high for what you get I feel. I wonder how they are making it.
Fattoria e Mare is one of our regular spots for fine dining. We've been going there since it opened. Dining is superb: we've never been disappointed with food, service, or ambience. Bar area can be lots of fun when there's entertainment. Owner/chef chats with diners when possible and is very responsive to any needs or requests. We had a seventieth birthday party for a family member there a few months ago. We could not be happier with the extraordinary care they took to ensure everything was just right.
We'll definitely be back for more. Hope you'll be there too!
Went to dinner before the Doug E. Fresh concert. My husband had the Halibut which was undercooked. I had the short rib. It was OK but the so called potatoes that were under it were like water. The bread was good. The wine was OK. Way overpriced for what we got.
On a good note the show was super fun but Doug E. Fresh was so late. Supposed to start at 9p, try 12:45a. This place should be a club and not a restaurant that over charges for the food.
Seating and first contact with waiter was prompt and very good. But after the first course appeared the waiter disappeared. Although we alerted other waitstaff and ached for our food, 30 minutes passed before waiter or food appeared. By then the Gnocchi that my wife ordered was so pasty from apparently standing around, that we sent it back. Since my dish was soon gone,my wife was unwilling just to sit there waiting and then eat alone, she wanted to leave and went without dinner. Apologies came, the bill was reduced but the evening was ruined. Never again.
A group of 6 went for New Years Eve dinner. We don't expect as much of a place for a holiday meal like this but it was more disappointing than usual. We were seated downstairs, near the kitchen, which was bright and cold, felt like a diner. Wait staff was friendly and attentive but did not know the menu at all. Best dishes: risotto, creamy and delicious and filet - really tender. Worst dishes: way undercooked bow tie pasta with a very strange tasting sauce-no one ate it, panna cotta-a very vinegary smelling dessert in a wine glass, with an aspic top layer. One of us ate one bite, we all smelled it - that was enough for us. Truly bad. We were called on Dec 30th and advised that we'd have to leave by 9:45pm as they had a party coming at 10:00 pm. Our reservations were for 7:30 so that was no problem. I guess it's good to give us a heads up but still, seemed strange.
I had high hopes with the yelp reviews, the location is definitely random, but the menu looked delicious. Service was good. The only issue was the food was off, lacking in flavor, every dish left you feeling like something was missing. We tried the burrata appetizer, caprese salad and penne al forno - nothing was delicious. It wasn't bad, just extremely underwhelming.
The service was bad throughout but some of the dishes were okay.
Seafood Misto and my cream corn soup were excellent. I had a breaded pork chop for my entree
it was tender but had a slight fishy taste. My wife had a fettucini dish which was disappointing.
Not much business for a Saturday night. Probably won't go back.
