Fat Tuna Grille & Oyster House
The food and bartenders was great.
Overall go down experience. Ordered broiled seafood platter had to send back Bc if too much water in the plate and everything was swimming but the remake was awesome!!!
We come every couple weeks. We drive from Northern Suffolk bypassing a lot of seafood restaurants on the way to coming here because it is the whole package,
Delicious food. Friendly staff. Would absolutely visit again. I strongly recommend a reservation.
I had the Steamboat and it was excellent! My wife loved the stuffed flounder. The place was packed but the service was very good and attentive.
My first time there but won't be my last!
Fat Tuna Grille & Oyster House was simple the best. Atmosphere superb, server spectacular, food outstanding, cost reasonable. Will return when in the area.
We looked for a nice seafood place for our last night on vacation. Saw the reviews and took a chance here. We were not disappointed! Our server, Seth, was excellent. Very knowledgeable and attentive. Although he is young, his skills are very seasoned and mature. The stuffed crab was great! Seth recommendations on the selection for raw oysters was spot on. We haven’t had a great seafood experience in a while. This made up for the delay.
We enjoyed a very good meal at Fat Tuna. It's definitely a place to take your family to enjoy a meal! If you're looking for a quiet date night atmosphere; this is not the place. We had great service and I really enjoyed the tuna appetizer and the shrimp and scallop dinner! I think the food was great!
There was four of us this night. We got a table in the front of the restaurant. My wife’s food wasn’t good. She had the soft shell crabs. They tasted like the fryer. I got the crab sandwich which was really good. My son got the crab cakes dinner which was also good. My youngest soon got the shrimp off the kids menu. The shrimp was really good. They even took the tails off. If you go to use the restroom you will notice the back dining area really smells. Very unpleasant. Service was slow. Waited over an hour for our meals. Would not return.
Loved the first visit but second visit was a let down. I know we dined late but out of first the wine ordered then the beer - to top it off with we are out of balsamic vinaigrette. How can you run out of salad dressing? The food that was available was moderate at best. Sorry the first experience was better which was at lunch when they had a full menu. With so many options not sure on our next visit to Williamsburg that this restaurant will be on the top of our list.
Extremely noisy. There were 6 food items and 5 were excellent but the linguini with clam sauce was way too salty. The bisque was excellent and the calamari was superior.
Food was amazing and so was the service. Wish I knew the name of our waiter because he was absolutely fantastic. About 5’10” shaved head. Food and service was top notch and we will come back next time we are in Williamsburg!!
We have a favorite restaurant where we usually eat when visiting the Williamsburg area but we thought we’d try somewhere different. We were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food is really good. You get a fair amount of food for the value. The hush puppies and the corn muffins brought to you when you first sit down are very good. The muffins have corn in them which adds to the sweetness and texture. We will return.
Eat with my wife and friends often last night with my daughter and granddaughter food was average and service just average. This was the first time I found this at your restaurant
It wasn't the best of food, but I'd be willing to give it another try.
Our server had no clue about types of beers, she literally said “ sorry I am not a bartender” as if it was a joke that she knew nothing about types of beer that were served where she worked at. Recommendations is what patrons need sometimes when are not familiar with certain types of beers that are offered.
Then I ordered a cosmopolitan and she brought out a glass of red wine so I just think she was just very distracted and not able to focus on each table individually it was kind of frustrating as we were on vacation and look forward to coming to fat tuna. We have come for the past 3 years and have only had positive experiences but I don’t know if we will return sadly.
I chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday based on the reviews, which ranked it highly among those specializing in seafood. It was good, but not fantastic, and I did enjoy the decor and the food. I ordered the crab ravioli, which seemed freshly made, not frozen and heated up like some places. Our server was very good, but it was hard to hear her because the whole place was extremely noisy. This was a little disappointing because I was hoping for a more calm ambiance. There are lots of hard surfaces and the place was packed with families, so it was probably the normal atmosphere. We were in and out very quickly.
Great food, service, and price. Will definitely go again next time we're in Colonial Williamsburg!
Waited 20 mins past our reservation time for our table, but it was worth it. Great seafood specials and outstanding service.
This is a wonderful place. Fresh local food that tastes great! Excellent service. Yummy desserts. Charming atmosphere.
Fun place, wide selection of dishes, good service, decent value.
Great food and service. The salmon was great and also the stuffed flounder.
Great food in an informal setting. Great service too. A pleasure to dine here, and it is one of our local favorites.
The second year my husband & i went to Fat Tuna during our family trip to Williamsburg & each time the food was awesome!! The service was great, i do recommend a reservation because it can definitely get busy there!
Not a good experience this time. This was my wife and I's favorite spot until Sunday. We were celebrating my wife's birthday with dinner at Fat Tuna. We were seated promptly. Our server took our drink order. He came back to advise me that they were out of the beer that I had ordered. No problem, I just ordered something different. Our server brought our drinks, then returned in about 10 minutes to take our order. We didn't see him again until our food arrived. He never checks on us at all. When our food arrived, my chicken and shrimp dinner arrived with no shrimp. Since our server never checked on us, I walked to the front and asked what appeared to be the manager if, in fact, shrimp came with my dinner. It obviously was supposed to. So the waiter came to the table and took my plate back to the kitchen. My wife enjoyed her meal as I looked on (I told her to eat her's while it was still hot). My plate was returned to me 5-10 mins. later with 4 shrimp added. I ate my meal while my wife looked on, lol. The server never came and checked on us. After we both had finished our meals, the server still had not come to check on us. I finally got his attention and waved him over asked if we could get the check. He promptly brought it back while clearing our table. As I added it was my wife's birthday on the reservation, the server then brought her a piece of cheesecake. Of course, she had no silverware to eat it, as the server had cleared the table and was nowhere to be seen. So she ate it with a knife that was still on the table. We were also charged $2 extra on our bill because of the difference in the beer I wanted, but they were out of, and what I ordered. This was one bad experience out of many and I hope we were just there on an "off" night.
U was very optimistic when I walked into the restaurant as it was so big. When our food arrived it was delicious and so fresh.
The food was excellent! The service was excellent, and we will definitely be going to eat there again on our next visit to Williamsburg.
I am a local who always enjoys Fat Tuna but we brought 4 guests with us and
they also enjoyed the evening at a good restaurant.
Thank you for coming to the Burg !!!!!!!!!!!
The food was very good. Only problem was it took so long to get. We were grateful to have ordered appetizers to tide us over.
Food was very good. Two of us had fried oysters. They were good, but very small. At this time of year I expect to have them larger. Service was good and no loud noises. Overall a good experience.
Great food. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend the raw oysters and blackened tuna nachos
We were very pleased with our food orders. Making a reservation was a plus, we were placed in a booth that was not in the center of things. We were celebrating our 55th Wedding Anniversary in Wiliamsburg. We chose Fat Tuna because of the menu selections and prices. We made the right choice!
In Williamsburg for week-long Baseball Tournament. When 3 times and took son and daughter in law one night. Also recommended to others at the Tournament and they enjoyed it.
Super fresh seafood, generous portions and good price. Waiters were great.
Great food. Nice ambiance! Would definitely go back again.
Waiter was nice. Food was good.
Loud dining but well prepared food. Octopus was the biggest portion I’ve ever had. Tender and delicious. Also had Parrot fish which I rarely see on menus. Very good food!
The food was good and the waitress was awesome, however it took a long time for food to be served. We got to the restaurant around 7 and we did not get served till around 8:15ish.
One of our favorite places to have a "special" dinner when in Williamsburg. This trip it was my wife's birthday and Fat Tuna did not disappoint any of my family members from 10 to 76!
The decor is cool and our waitress was great. She was very attentive. We had the shrimp and grits and the crab ravioli. The grits were somewhat under cooked but the ravioli was good. The place is pretty noisy.
