Beautiful space but seating guests within very close proximity of other tables seemed awkward when other options were available. Our first 2 wine bottle selections were unavailable. I noticed the table across from us had the same issue & seemed perturbed as well. We ended up with a nice wine on the 3rd try and the food was very good, although a bit salty for my preference. The Iberico (pork) steak was so tender & flavorful and glad Brittany made the suggestion. Loved the Gigli with bright, fresh tomato flavor & pasta perfectly prepared. The oysters were also delicious. I would return and recommend to others.

My boyfriend and I came here for the first time last night for our Anniversary. Our server Sydney was amazing--she had so many incredible recommendations, and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We got everything she recommended, and cleaned all of our plates. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion, or even a nice meal!

Visually the place is great. The service was impeccable. The issue was the meals. Very disappointed in the taste or the lack of taste. I would have expected a dining experience but the food was average at best. I will give it one more try hoping this is not the standard.

we wanted a more quiet space so they opened the other area of the restaurant which we were the only couple there and with a tablecloth ( a minimum requirement for me). The management team was very responsive that was only matched with the exquisite food. Sabrina was superb. It was our last night in Scottsdale, and you made yet better.

I had an AWESOME time at Fat Ox! The food was amazing! The oysters were meaty and delicious, the branzino and the ribeye were perfectly cooked, and I'm still dreaming about that Tiramisu! You HAVE to try the Big River cocktail--sweet and spicy and so good! Thank you so much to our server Krissi who had a smile during our whole meal and the owner Brian who was so lind and generous to us on our first trip to Fat Ox (and Scottsdale)! Would definitely drop by again next time I'm in town!

Service was subpar for a restaurant of this category. Appetizer served before the wine was brought to the table. After bringing the issue to a manager's attention, we were informed they no longer had the bottle we requested. They offered a more expensive bottle for us to buy which we did not think it was the correct way to resolve the issue. They also played the blame game (waiter vs sommelier). We had trouble with the bill which they corrected.

We saw many reviews for Fat Ox and were excited to try it! We went for dinner -- of course had reservations and were seated fairly quickly. Our server was very nice and helpful -- giving suggestions when we asked. Had a fabulous by the glass Chianti and really enjoyed our three courses -- with no room for dessert. Would highly recommend!

I had 1 night in Scottsdale so I made reservations at Fat Ox. The establishment was beautiful, the service was great and it was packed on a Friday night. Extensive wine list broken down by region and type to perfection. Cocktail list was curated nicely and has something for everybody. I tried a variety of food options off the menu. The bread they brought out with different spreads was good. The octopus was cooked to perfection and seasoned to perfection. The short rib didn’t do anything for me. They were ok. The scallops were nice sized and had potential but were very salty. 35 layer lasagna was underwhelming. Missed on a few levels but has potential if they add meat and other ingredients. I love Brussels but they didn’t bring them to life with the right seasoning.

We had the best evening celebrating our with visiting friends at Fat Ox last night. Our table was outside on the back patio, which was beautiful with trees and twinkle lights and quite a bit quieter than inside. Our server made sure our drinks were always full, made excellent food and wine suggestions and was so friendly and efficient. The tortellini and braised short ribs were amazing. We were celebrating our friend’s birthday and the evening was perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

We went to celebrate our anniversary. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. Our server did an outstanding job. The food was wonderful and not your typical Italian food which was what we had hoped. Two things to keep in mind. You will be there for awhile. Start to finish two and a half hours. We were fine with it but you should just be aware. The second is that the price of cocktails are very high in my opinion. We each ordered a Hendricks martini and the cost was $24 each. I feel that’s a bit excessive. Most of the wine selection was over $100 a bottle as well. But that is my only negative. The food, service and atmosphere are outstanding.

Our waiter was extremely pushy in trying to upsell us on our menu selections. I don’t appreciate someone trying to make me second guess my choices. I wanted pasta, I don’t want to be upsold into an expensive piece of meat or an unnecessary side dish. It was constant, from the appetizer course all the way through to dessert- I wasn’t even finished chewing my food before he was shoving a dessert menu in my face. It took away from an otherwise good evening.

We throughly enjoyed our dinner and the service was amazing. I would highly recommend the Mussels for a starter. The short rib tortellini was melt in your mouth fantastic. Entrees included the Maine halibut and the scallops. Both were exceptional. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic dinning experience. We enjoyed four items from the antipasti, formaggio menu, the beets and ricotta dishes were our favorites. Our server was great, she explained the dishes in detail and gave soft recommendations to the popular dishes. We enjoyed our trio of primi piattis and enjoyed the lemon tart desert. This is a great place to go for a celebration or just a night where you want a great foodie experience.

The pasta was delicious and so were the cocktails. However, the porterhouse was quite the disappointment. I’m not one to complain about things because it’s not their fault the steak was fatty but I do think they need to talk to their distributor. Also the waitress almost left the bathroom without washing her hands until she made eye contact with my friend (who was dining with us).

Beautiful restaurant, service is excellent. Food is underwhelming. Shrimp app was neither hot nor cold tasted ok. Both pastas were okay slightly under-seasoned otherwise good. Scallop was best dish but again just slightly underwhelming. Chicken was average but interesting enough. Cappuccino and dessert was good. Overall enjoyable experience but overpriced for the average food and I don’t mind spending a lot of money on food. Service was extremely good.
