   Very welcoming. Staff were attentive without being overboard. Food was fabulous 😀👍

   An INCREDIBLE start to our break away in Devon! I found the Fat Otter by luck and knew that we had to visit and we were not disappointed, as everything was wonderful! From our arrival, where we were greeted by Jamie with a massive smile and warm welcome, despite our lateness, we were helped to our table and looked after but the front of house team, with the menu and ordering our meal. Don’t be put off by the simplicity of their menu; everything that has been selected and features will not disappoint. I find it refreshing to have a paired-down and manageable menu, which made choosing our meal a breeze, without an extended menu full of options, which I imagine would also sound wonderfully mouth-watering, but making it hard to decide on your meal! Personally, for me, Nikoleta and Jamie have created a fabulous menu, which I still wanted to try everything on offer! We were thoroughly impressed with both the food and drink as Nikoleta and her team artfully bring what reads as a simple menu to life with dishes that are truly outstanding… chefs kiss! For us, both slightly hard of hearing, the acoustics on the ground floor were a bit unusual, as we could hear every word of the young (actor) man at the bar but couldn’t hear each other. However, this did not detract from our experience or evening at the Fat Otter… we loved it and can not wait to go back!

   Great friendly service, food was excellent and all at a very good price, could ask for more! We will definitely be back

   Lovely small but varied menu, mix of modern and traditional, British and international. The goats cheesecake was a work of art! We wanted to order all the starters. The cocktails are creative and delicious. The main courses are more complex than they sound. My smoked haddock fishcake came with mussels, leeks and a creamy sauce, had barely any potato, and was possibly the stand-out main. However, the burger was a contender for best-ever burger. The beef pie and the chicken breast were both worth the journey.
