We made 530 reservations ahead of B’s game and showed up early. We were the only people there at 5 on a Saturday night and the food and service was excellent. A small and quaint setting - they seat about 30 and we’d definitely go back.
Great little 30 seat restaurant. Food is immaculate. Foie gras terriene and the pasta with the duck confit were just delicious. Cannoli ricotta could be a little sweeter. Great dinner thanks.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.
Very nice place, great food! Creative italian dishes, high quality products.
Fantastic food and fun vibe!
We thought Fat Hen was fantastic. We just let our very attentive waiter pick the food for the chef's menu, and everything he picked was amazing. The wine pairing was perfect too. It was the perfect date night!
This is one of the best kept secrets in Boston! The food is delicious and creative, the service is great, and the ambiance is fantastic. Small and intimate restaurant. Great wine selection as well. We will come back!
Burrata + Agnolotti = 👍👍👍
I asked for a private table and they gave me the a great corner seating but also kept the table adjacent open as well
Relaxed comfortable ambiance, excellent service, had two Prix Fixe dinners. Caesar salad, arancini, and Lamache (lamb Bolognese) were all delicious first two courses. Both had Bistecca (ribeye steak) for main entree and were both disappointed, it was cooked perfectly but seemed a little dry and lacking in rich juicy flavor that we’d expect from a good ribeye. Desserts were mixed, chocolate one very good and rich, lemon cheesecake one not very good. It was a frothy liquid in a glass with nice flavor but no discernible cake and a soupy consistency that was unexpected and disappointing.
Outstanding service and food.
It's very dark. As an older person I needed a flashlight to read the menu. Otherwise it was great.
Truly memorable experience. We loved the place. Jacob was great - attentive and accommodating. Food was superb. The fact that it was a good value was a pleasant and unexpected surprise.
The chef is super talented and imaginative. But the wines are too expensive, the dishes quite precious. Because if cost Aline, I would not recommend this restaurant except for those with a lot of money.
All was very good! We really enjoyed it.
Outstanding food, excellent service, and quiet, intimate atmosphere. I'll definitely return in the future.
Yum. We originally had a reservation in September, but another patron rented the entire restaurant that evening. We were given a sincere apology and a generous gift certificate. That took the sting out of it. The restaurant has a small but handsome dining room. We did the four course tasting with paired wines. At $100 per person, that seemed like a good value, especially given the quality of the food and wine. Our server was relaxed and knowledgeable. We'll be back.
The service is incredible and the food is delicious! We tried this place a few months back and fell in love! Any occasion, this is always our first pick.
Awesome experience over all, excellent food, excellent service.
I will recommend this restaurant to any one
Our party of 4 was celebrating a big birthday. We were early yet seated with grace. The 4 course dinner is a treat - variety, small sizes enough to sate without overfilling. Everything done to perfection. Recommend the duck and swordfish. Waiter was attentive and thoughtful, service was excellent. We will return.
Fantastic experience, I would highly recommend others to try.
Will absolutely be back
Chef Brian and his team ( including the service team Jake and Jamie) create magic! Excellent food and wine pairing ( Jake’s choice of wine is a true experience itself). An absolute culinary highlight! We love Fat Hen!
This restaurant has had high ratings. Not by us. The food was insipid. We had a scallops crudo and caesar salad for starters. The crudo was fair, the salad was worse. We had a gnocchi for primo which had little taste beyond the dumplings. The duck breast came out medium and again lacked any excitement. The waiter was very pleasant but the service was very slow. Of note; On open table the openings were only between 615 and 900. We came at 615 and way fewer than half the tables were taken until we left at around 815.. Huh?
It was sooooo cold! The food was lovely but I had to eat with my jacket on it was freezing.
We had a fantastic dinner at Fat Hen. Good and service was excellent for our pre Fixe meal and would highly recommend the wine pairing. Great value for the meal and experience. We will definitely return soon!
great food, extensive menu, highly recommend Fat Hen Broadway. Definitely a neighborhood gem.
We love Fat Hen, we found this gem about a month ago when we were visiting Boston. The service and food if fabulous!
Excellent service. Jake was great! Delicious meal.
A delightful find in Somerville. The food was absolutely delicious. Each dish we had was fabulous. We had the new fall menu and tried appetizers, shared a pasta and each had an entree. The pate I had was delicious and paired perfectly with the pear accompaniment. We loved our pasta dish and my sword fish was amazing. We definitely will be back. Wines are thoughtfully chosen, we had two biodynamics which we loved. Keep up the great work!!!
Wonderful food and ambiance - our server, Jake, was the top of the top: personable, articulate, talented, and a wonderful 'guide' throughout the meal.
We loved our meal at Fat Hen! The food is excellent and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. We will definitely be back!
Some of the best food and service I have ever had. Fat Hen was incredible!
Our fifth time here. Chef Brian prepares amazing dishes from local sources. Jake always makes us feel tremendously welcome. This place never fails. Great food.
This was a great find. Our waiter was very personable and service was terrific. We had a pork and a fish entre, both were carefully prepared way beyond what one would cook for oneself. The Caesar salad was uniquely done with cured egg and roasted bread crumbs. We were there early so I don’t know how noisy it might be at the height of dinner hour. Dinner was a delicious adventure. Definitely go if you love great food.
Great Chef’s Whim tasting menu. Good variety of flavors.
Truly an incredible meal, everything was a stand out. I’ve dined all over the world and have eaten everything from dive bar crap to three Michelin cuisine, fat hen stands out amongst the latter. Service was well executed and thoughtful, not missing a beat. I have to say the preparation of ribeye was so spectacular I will be back sooner than expected to have it again. I am usually apprehensive to share dimes like this with friends however the word has already been spread, too good not to share. Thank you to all that were there that night to make for such a stupendous evening!
Great food, prepared and delivered very well.
Lovely atmosphere, incredible food and great service! Will definitely be back!
Fat Hen goes on being my favorite restaurant, full stop. This time there were six of us, ranging from just 21 to 78. We were all delighted with the food, the place, and the affable, careful service.
We had an early reservation (5:15) and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. It started to fill up a little more as we went through our meal. We opted for the 4-course prix fixe menu and enjoyed everything! Notably, the scallops, risotto, and burrata were delicious. Our server was friendly and helpful.
