this place is closed yo
This place is permanently closed! Please update- my husband & I drove over 45 minutes to this place on Saturday just to arrive to a closed restaurant.
They have closed down.
Found out that we were there on the last night that they would be open as they were closing on January 1st. Several menu items were unavailable due to their imminent closure, which was disappointing. Server went above and beyond to try and make up for it; however there were only four other customers in the place. Fried chicken was good but certainly not the greatest I'd ever had and my friend didn't like it at all.
Food was decent but waitress was rude and condescending. Overall service was ok but not a good start to the meal when waitress mocks guest
The chicken was absolutely disgusting. Not only was the chicken over cooked (flash fried) but it also lacked flavor. If you want to be known for fried chicken the chicken you serve must be good. I think they flash fry their chicken in order to get it out the customer faster but they should probably fry the chicken fresh like Sissy’s. Trust me, people will wait the extra few minutes for chicken that isn’t over cooked. Additionally, I believe they used old grease when cooking. The best item was the spinach. I will not be back!
Celebrated an early Thanksgiving meal with my family. Owners are a delight! Loved the food, especially the beignets and pot pie. The house cocktails were fun too. Only hang up was our young server did not seem too interested in serving us....she rolled her eyes a bunch and dropped our check before we could order desserts and such. We will go back though.
Awesome location and atmosphere. The vibe was great and the food was really good. Be ready to be stuffed. The picnic sand which was great!
Heard about Fat chicken from a friend. Gave it a try, so glad I did. 3 of us enjoyed the food so much we plan to return. Do not miss the Nutella pie, we were challenged to eat this and not like it. Omg it’s the bomb. Save room for PIE they are greatness.
What a fantastic find! I had not heard about this place, so we were just chancing it. A very good decision. There was no item we did not find tasty. True southern fare. Would highly recommend. Will be going back for more.
If you love chicken then this is the place to go. Staff us friendly and Linda the owner is so welcoming and friendly. Dessert is homemade pies and man let me tell you they are AMAZING the coconut cream pie wow o wow the best ever even beats my moms and thats hard to do
Its a must dine
We enjoyed the time spent at Fat Chicken. We certainly didn't know what to expect, but we were absolutely pleased. Everyone was super nice. We can't wait to go back.
First time at this restaurant. It's great for social groups and family dining. Decor was a warm down home country style. Everything did not go smooth as there were a couple of issues with the food however the manager was very accommodating and went above and beyond in her efforts to satisfy us to make it a better experience. It's worth checking it out again. Great location
Really good chicken and donuts!!! Home made dipping sauces are awesome!!
Extremely disappointed with this restaurant. Wait staff was less than friendly with zero personality. Food was mediocre at best. Extremely overpriced for the quality & quantity. Our large party had a variety of items from the menu & no one was pleased. The food was not seasoned & was overcooked. The portion sizes were unbelievably small for the price. It was a joke at the table if it was actually a chicken or a cornished hen because the pieces were so small. This family gathering was to celebrate a birthday & we were all very disappointed. Will not return & definitely won't recommend.
Food was very good. Chicken fried chicken was delicious. Tastes home made.
This was our first visit to Fat Chicken & man, was it good! I would certainly recommend it!
My wife & I went with some friends & we shared the deviled eggs & the jalapeno pimento cheese fritters. The eggs were solid and the fritters were amazing!
I got the Rancher for my meal & would definitely get that again! Thick bacon & smoked jalapeno buttermilk cream made the dish. It was awesome. We split the peanut butter / chocolate pie for dessert & that was also fantastic.
Our waitress was okay - she disappeared on us for a bit...but the food made up for the okay service.
As a warning - this is NOT a heart healthy option! They may have some salad options but let's be honest - you're not going there for roughage. For me this is not a weekly outing type place but every once & a while? You bet!
Great little chicken place! Fun atmosphere, great, quick service & cool cocktail menu. My only complaint was that here wasn't a chanbgjng table in any of the restrooms.
Service was spot on. Great atmosphere. Food was excellent especially the chicken and donuts. Must get!! We did get the lobster corndogs. The batter was tasty has well as dip. The "dog" it self was decent. We did find out the lobster dog had shrimp unbeknownst to us as not listed on the menu and we didn't think to ask. (Mom has a shrimp allergy). Overall great experience.
Great food and the customer service was exceptional.
Came in to celebrate two birthdays. The host wasn't certain whether to give a brunch or dinner menu. So we played musical menu for a minute and she continuously removed and replaced the menus. When the server came over, I was looking over the drink menu, so I asked for a water. When he came back, he only asked for the meal order, not drinks, but took all menus with him. He barely came to the table. He did manage to ask if one or two checks, but failed to ask if there was anything else we would need. Thus was my second and final visit to this location. I've had the same server twice and both experiences has been the same.
Our food was over cooked and soaked in grease like it was setting in a pan under a heat lamp or something .grease had to be old ..had higher expectations for this place and been looking to have some good chicken. Also family got sick later that night .
Walked right in and we were treated like regulars! We sat down quickly and the magic happened. Deviled eggs were perfect, full of flavor and the best part was the bacon! I had he chicken and donuts . I took that first bite and knew it was very much home made! Loved it! This is a place to come to for serious comfort food! Good prices, great service. I'll come back!
Very enjoyable lunch with 3 friends. We each ordered different dishes and were all pleased. Waiter was very attentive. A first time for my 3 friends. All smiles at my recommendation.
Chicken and donuts were delicious! Donuts tasted like funnel cakes. Mac n cheese was creamy.
If you want dining points for eating, don't come here they don't credit your reservation.
Food was amazing! Definitely will go back. Favorite part was the pie CART not menu, not tray but an actual roll out CART! Love it
You get lots of food for your money, and the chicken is awesome. Definitely will be back.
There were 6 of us and no one was impress with the chicken or the sides. My wing wasn't hot out of the grease. Instead it seemed to have been sitting under a heat lamp. It was dry and tough. I could have gotten a better tasting chicken and better value at Popeyes Chicken. I won't be going back.
We were excited about our visit, but we were soon disappointed. Our waiter was inattentive. We ordered an appetizer which arrived after our meal was half eaten. And that was after we reminded her 3 times. We also had to ask for drink refills. We were not there at a busy time, so that is not an excuse for her lack of service.
Food was good, but small portions.
This was the perfect place for me and my friends to have a many reunion since we are all from California now living in various parts of the DFW. The prices of the food were reasonable and the drinks were great especially the lemonade with the Eddy's Vodka.
I appreciated the expertise of the host she was excellent and the barter tender was great on his recommendations of drinks. A bonus was the popcorn they served before our appetizers in which we ordered the wings and the Lobsters Corn Dog. I had the chicken and biscuit sliders with spinach ( very tasty spinach and chicken). What I really appreciated was the fact that they were able to accommodate the special orders of people who wanted spicy chicken by adding the cajun seasoning on the various orders. This was a great spot to meet up with friends and to enjoy the Trinity Grove Area.
Overall this was a great place for our needs we had fun enjoyed ourselves and people plan to come back with their spouses. THANK YOU FAT CHICKEN FOR PROVIDING A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR US
Fried chicken was delicious! Will visit over and over again!
Food is excellent. A little pricey for "fried chicken" but definitely worth trying it once for the experience. Would Definitely recommend.
The fried chicken had great flavor. We loved the variety of the chicken dishes. Their desserts are pies served from a cart, really unique. We will definitely go back.
I was super excited to try the food there and they didn't dissapoint. They didn't have any good sides not even mashed potatoes wtf is that?
Meh. Great chicken, we had thighs and tenders, and will return for the Monday $20 buckets, but the sides were lackluster. Only get the chicken. Capers on the tenders were tasty, breading was terrific.
The baked goods were very homemade, but not by Grandma...more like your youngest cousin who just moved out of college. Beignets were...not. The sticky buns were fine, but nothing to write home about. For the price, you'll be disappointed with anything but the chicken. And considering the decor, get it to-go. Yikes.
Perfect for your out-of-town relatives from fly-over country. They'll feel right at home and it will make Dallas seem less scary.
We had a bit of a wait for food and we only ordered 2 plates. The staff was friendly and overall the food was great.
Had the chicken fried steak which was good; my friend had the Korean fried chicken which she really enjoyed. Would definitely return
They do everything that can be done with chicken! Some other items too, but primarily chicken. Everything was delicious. The dessert cart was full of tempting desserts- both we ordered were wonderful. The patio is very nice for a casual get-together- and would be very kid-friendly.
GREAT time and great food. Staff was shorthanded but the chef was very accommodating! Even did a special order for a 7mos pregnant guest in our party. Only con is our waitress was very short with us and at times even rude. We let it go figuring she was under pressure due to minimal staff. I will definitely be back!
