Fat Belly is a culinary gem worth experiencing. From its delectable cuisine to impeccable service and inviting atmosphere, it's a standout in Door County. The staff is not only friendly but also well-versed in the menu, making it perfect for seafood newcomers. Despite its modest size, the restaurant exudes a unique and cozy charm that sets it apart. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Good things come in small packages, which certainly applies to Fat Belly in this instance. This is a hard restaurant to find as it hidden in Sister Bay behind the Johnson mini race car track on the drive to the Country House Inn. Please, make the effort: It is well worth it. The seating capacity is minuscule, perhaps three booths and two small tables, but there is also some seating at the equally petite bar. Happily, reservations can be made. The three appetizers are all to die for: Crab rangoon, shrimp tempura, and There are also three entries: A fish dish (not tried) a sliced steak dish, very tasty and chewy and beautifully served, and something called the Samurai Bowl. This is a chicken dish on a bed of cabbage greens with rice underneath. By far my favorite dish. All of the portions are very generous. You will not leave Fat Belly hungry. There is a decent drink selection offering soft drinks along with beer and wine. Enough to please any palette, but also ask for the wines by the bottle, which are surprisingly well curated. I cannot speak to the sushi offerings as that is not my culinary preference. If they are as good as everything else on the menu, then you will be in for a treat. The staff is very small at only two to four people. Dan and Sam provide outstanding wait service as both of them have been working at various establishments up here for years. I haven't officially met the chef yet, maybe the next time. Fat Belly is a treasure, but I don't want to make it too popular as I want to get in the next time I crave one of their delicious dishes. This happens all too often. This is one of the best restaurants in Door County.

Fat Belly is a joy to visit if you are a foodie and you want to sample all of the delicious pan-Asian dishes. The food is outstanding and the portions are more than generous. In fact, good for you if you can even finish your meal. My wife and I brought home some of our meals, and she was very happy with her leftovers a few days later. I opted for the Crab Rangoon and the Shrimp Tempura appetizers as both are delicious. My wife also ordered the Pot Stickers, and she made the three appetizers a full meal. I had the Samurai Bowl with chicken for my entre, and it was all I could eat and more. Excellent choice. Daniel and Sam are the two waiters, and they are both total pros. The wine selections are limited but very serviceable. The dessert plate is ice cream and something. I have had it twice, and I still don't know how or what it is. All I know that it is cold and yummy and some how fruit based. Fat Belly is a hard to find tiny hole in the wall restaurant behind the Sister Bay race track south of Jerry's Flowers. Look for it to experience an outstanding dining experience.

We had a delicious meal and fun time exploring the menu at Fat Belly. Three of us shared orders of dressed potstickers, Godzilla, Samurai Bowl and hand Grenades. All of the dishes were fresh, well prepared and nicely timed. FB is an excellent addition to Door Count dining scene and a place we look forward to visiting often!

Food is interesting and delicious. The dressed potstickers are my favorite. A great need on the Door County food scene. The restaurant is very tiny though. Don’t expect to walk in and get a table, especially in high season.
