Service was very slow. Pretty restaurant. i menu is gourmet but food is not quite.
Should have been a better experience overall
Always delicious. Excellent service. Creative menu.
It’s was great but
Wonderful as always. Need to provide some parking. Got guestd
The kale salad is the clear star of the show. Don’t miss it.
Food was fresh, well seasoned and the portions were just right. Good value
Everything was perfect! Fascino is the best restaurant in Montclair. The food is outstanding, the space is great, and the waiters are so knowledgeable of the menu and accommodating with changes for allergies etc. We had a group of 9 women for our friend’s birthday and everyone was overly pleased. I can’t wait to go back !
Delicious! Great service but more importantly, it's BYOB!
We visited Fascino for the first time on a Monday in June 2019. Can’t say enough about our experience...the staff are very professional, polite, sociable, and extremely friendly. The food was amazing...we had Spanish octopus & tuna tartare for starters...delicious! We all chose pasta selections for entrees, as all pasta is made fresh in-house...we had the mushroom agnolotti, pappardelle with lamb sauce, and gnocchi with sausage sauce...everything was phenomenal! We opted out of dessert, as we were so happily full from our fabulous dinner. Fascino is well worth a visit!!! We will be returning very soon!
From being greeted by Danny @ the door to enjoying Cynthia’s sinful bread pudding , the entire evening was perfection!
This one of our friends favorites. We keep comping back. It is well worth it.
We had a lovely family dinner at Fascino, celebrating a new high school graduate. Everyone was very nice, and the food was delicious. Highly recommended for family gatherings and other special occasions. Thanks!
Go here now! Amazing food and great ambiance. Creative dishes and homemade pastas can’t be beat. You will love everything. Can’t wait to return.
The food was delicious, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and the ambiance was classy without being snooty. It was out of our budget for everyday dining but the price was fair for the quality. My only minor negative was the coffee tasted a little burnt and when I confirmed my reservation in person I told them it was my wife’s birthday and they said they would have a small card for her but when we dined there they didn’t.
Have been coming here for a long time. Family favorite. Last two experiences have been less than the stellar. Last time steak was medium well when ordered medium rare. This time, party of 5, 3 people's salads came out first before Appetizers for the table. Appetizers came out when one person was still eating their salad (despite my asking them to wait) and the steamed mussels were luke warm. We also ordered a dessert that turns out they didn't have available and having to come back and re-order. Unfortunate experience and no excuse since it was Saturday night and it was no that crowded. Something is up with the kitchen and service clearly. Will be looking for a new spot.
For years and years this was my go to place for special occasions and Ive recommended it to many others. Granted its tough to be on top of your game all the time and maybe I'm being too harsh. But frankly the place this night had lost its EDGE. The food was good for an AVERAGE restaurant. I expect more than average when coming here. The Tuscan fish stew was a mush. The dessert, a molten chocolate cake seemed like a warmed up small chocolate cupcake with little taste. As for the ice cream "scoop" on the side, well for $10 something a little larger than a melting melon ball size scoop might be expected. I must say all 4 of us shared a braised lamb pappardelle that was really good. More like what I've experienced in the past..
As to the service. When seated we were asked if we wanted water, it was 15-20 minutes before it appeared and someone finally opened our wine. The staff seemed tired and without the usual spirited description of the menu.
As I said earlier, A champ can't live solely on the past. This was a not what I've always been accustomed too at Fascino. I had built up my guest's expectations and sadly apologized. I'll return as Ive had many excellent past experiences. If this were my first visit it would be my last.
Whilst the ambience was lovely, steak was the worst I ever had in my entire life. We were there for a birthday party and nearly every one of us was disappointed with food. On top of that everything took forever to arrive. 1 hour for entrée, 1.5 hours for main course and another hour for dessert. Maybe it was an off night but I will never be going back, mostly because of how terrible food was.
A good friend made the recommendation for the restaurant and it was a home run. The preparation was superb. I now have a new standard --the light, fresh flavors of the ricotta gnocchi were the best I've had in a long time. The main course was well prepared and presented. The waiter was professional and engaging. Ambiance was appropriately quiet--perfect for a "catch-up" dinner with an old friend. Kudos.
I will be recommending Fascino to many of my friends. Keep up the terrific, quality work.
The food was very good. The issue that I had was the food was super slow coming out of the kitchen and there was no proactive communication about what was going on, no apology, or any attempt to keep us satisfied (and not starving). The restaurant wasn’t full, so there was no excuse for it to be so slow. It was at least an hour after the appetizers before our entrees came out (2 hours total), which is unacceptable. We were there for a special birthday and it was embarrassing that we brought them to a place with such bad service.
We ate dinner at Fascino last Saturday night. We were seated quickly. Our waiter recommended some appetizers (which we ordered). The appetizers were incredibly small portions and somewhat cold in temperature. We then waited for our main courses for over an hour. While they were good, it somewhat ruined the experience by taking so long. The prices are somewhat on the high side and I would expect much better service. I would think twice before going back again.
Deliver on the food. Excellent service and atmosphere.
Only one of our dishes was outstanding.
The gnocci was bland and tasteless
A bit over priced for special pasta and pork chop was not as great to be called pork saltimbocca as they wish. Too much bacon flavor and too little portions of over cooked near burnt dry spatzel
the service was fantastic. The atmosphere was perfect. My only negative is the menu choices are slightly limited but what we ate was prepared excellently. Also kudos to Cynthia as her cookie plate dessert was the best we have ever encountered in the NJ-NY metro area
Great Food and Service
One of our favorite spots for dinner in NJ. The food is inventive, beautifully served, and always outstandingly good. Our server was great as were all the staff.
Picked Fascino to celebrate our anniversary. The staff greeted us warmly with anniversary wishes. This is not your grandmas italian - but a modern take on Italian food. Everything we tried was exceptional - from the tiangle pasta with blistered tomatoes and pistachios to the lamb chops and pork chop saltimbocca. Oh that pork chop is fabulous!! Defiantely planning on a return visit with friends. If you’re in the area take the time to dine here - you won’t be sorry
Outstanding food and service and the bread pudding is beast!!
Excellent food and service. We enjoyed stuffed zucchini flowers for appetizer. Entrees we loved halibut and agnolotti. Thank you- we will be back
The food and service was outstanding. We have dined here many times and it is always excellent. I always recommend to others.
We had 8:30 dinner reservations and did not get our food until almost 10pm. Our waiter was ridiculous...like he was auditioning for a broadway show and just would not stop talking and talking and talking. The food was just ok. My friend ordered lamb chops medium and they came out RAW....beyond rare. The gnocchi was described to us as “pillows of heaven” and they were very heavy. The pork chop and scallops were good but that’s ablut it. Beyond disappointed and won’t be going back.
I have been going to Fascino for years and it is top-notch each time. Chris is amazingly accommodating and is always willing to help in any way he can. Our server, Pasqualina was extremely attentive to all of our needs. Keeps me coming back.
My wife and I and good friends were celebrating our wedding anniversaries. Since it was our first time the waitress was extremely helpful in explaining the menu. Mussels and crab appetizers were excellent. Halibut entrees perfectly cooked
It was for my wife’s birthday. The food was very good.
Incredibly attentive service. Great variety of dishes to select from. The gnocchi is so soft, it melts in your mouth. Scallops and risotto were perfectly cooked. Definitely one of the best meals I’ve ever had!
As always, an exceptional meal. We were celebrating two birthdays, greeted warmly, given first rate service as we enjoyed such apps as a special beet/goat cheese salad, grilled octopus, and PEI mussels. The entrees included the pappardelle with braised lamb sugo and the pignoli crusted nova scotia halibut. After polishing off three bottles of wine among four people, we were unfortunately too full for dessert, but we did enjoy the complimentary birthday gelato.
This remains, for me, the best restaurant in a town full of good ones.
Excellent food, great service and nice ambiance! We will definitely return.
Another wonderful dinner. Food, service, ambiance great as usual. My favorite restaurant for a quiet dinner with friends.
We've been enjoying Ryan's creative Italian menu since they opened. The food is delicious, the service warm & professional, and the atmosphere is lovely.
A family-owned restaurant with fabulous food!! Service was great! The menu is creative as well as traditional. Highly recommend the gnocchi; they are light as air and so delicious! Be prepared as this is a BYO but they have a very efficient system for ordering wine which is delivered promptly. Cannot wait to visit again!!
