Fascino, the brainchild of celebrity Chef Ryan DePersio and his family, is a study in modern Italian food, coined "Italian without borders." Ryan's unique approach is apparent, showcasing his years with world renowned chefs Jean Georges Vongrichten and David Bouley. Achieving a Zagat food rating of 26, it states, a "consistent" "favorite" for its "elegant", "innovative" interpretations of "traditional" dishes (and his mom's "alluring" desserts). 16 years and going strong, Fascino was renovated in 2010, completely redecorated with a fresh new look, and has an expanded menu.

Dinner was amazing, beautiful setting, excellent service. I had only been here once several years ago, but after last nights meal it is my new Montclair favorite and will be top of the list for dinner with friends and couples nights out.

As always, it was a very professionally run operation. Seated right away, Javier was attentive and our food order was paced well. The beef tartare was excellent. My wife’s chicken dish was delicious, as was my father in laws pasta. My duck was a little gamey and over seasoned. No complaints really as the food here is usually superb.

A menu with at least 5 items that i really wanted to order. Our tanle ordered 4 different items, so i got a chance to taste each. All were fantastic! Wiat staff was friendly and went overboard to answer our questions.

Wow! My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and wanted to try some place new. We found this place online and went for it. The focaccia bread was unlike anything I’ve had. So soft and flavorful. Perfect amount of salt. The gnocchi melts in your mouth but you can taste the fresh ricotta since the sauce doesn’t overpower it. Very cohesive dish. And the desserts had extraordinary flavors. You can tell that the people in the kitchen cook with their hearts and have spent years developing the menu into what it is today. The waitress we had was very helpful, kind, and fun. We were shocked that with an appetizer, entree, and 2 desserts, the bill was still under $100. Unbelievable. I would have doubled the tip if we weren’t saving up for our baby that’s due in 2 months. We will be back and since last night we’ve already told a lot of friends about this place. Thanks for a great night!

Not only was the food wonderful at Fascino but the staff were great too! It was our anniversary and they gave us a card, so thoughtful! Looking forward to our next meal!

We have not been to Fascino’s in a while and thought we’d see how things were since indoor dining had opened up again.
We were a party of three celebrating an anniversary.
We were seated in a booth in the front room which is more casual than the dining room in the back. There was a party of 8 next to us and the noise level made it difficult to have a conversation without shouting. We had brought 2 bottles of wine, one red and one white, which the waiter opened and poured for us. Not to be too picky, but usually in a restaurant the caliber of Fascino’s, the norm would be to serve red and white wine in different size glasses, and to keep the white wine chilled. Neither happened.
Our appetizers were uneven. The octopus and oysters were good, but overpriced, but the beef carpaccio topped by shaved celery missed the mark because the celery overpowered the flavor of the beef and was difficult to cut.
Our entrees also get a mixed review. My sea bass was delicious, my husband’s scallops served in a soupy pea and corn broth okay, but the portion was small and again overpriced. The ravioli special was good. My husband and son had finished eating their entrees, yet I was still eating, when their plates were cleared leaving me to rush to finish my meal. This is something that should never be done at a fine dining restaurant.
The waiter brought one menu for the three of us to share to choose our desserts. He said they were short menus. Strange.
Dessert was the only course that everyone enjoyed. We all had the peach crostata with limoncello gelato. A nice touch was a candle in a dollop of whipped cream and a card from the chef.
All in all it was not what we had hoped for. We realize times are difficult for restaurants who suffered during the pandemic and are trying to make up for lost revenue. Getting qualified staff is also something else restaurants have to deal with. Management must step up training in order to keep the high prices justifiable.

Absolutely delicious food, very authentic and prices right. Our waiter Chris was wonderful but was being pulled in many directions by the "manager" which didn't allow him to give us his best personal attention

The head guy was great. The servers were rude and becuse of their accents, you can’t hear them properly through masks. Two things on the limited menu were sold out. That’s poor. Food was average.

What a great time we had at Fascino with my brother and my nephews. The service was excellent and we thank Havier for that. I would have given 5 stars for the food but one of our parties stated theirs was just ok. The venue was excellent and the spacing between tables was ample. I will recommend and return to Fascino again with my family. Our thanks to the chef as he did a great job overall. I I could give half stars it would have been 4.5 stars.

Haven’t been in a few years but definitely not what it use to be. I definitely wouldn’t consider it up scale. The layout of the room seemed sparse and void of furniture. Maybe because of covid. Entrance way was weird with a long table next to the host stand and two tall cocktail tables next to it. Maybe because it was Sunday but, the staff was not enthusiastic at all. Nor was the hostess. Definitely felt like they didn’t want to be there and couldn’t wait to get off which was evident by the fact they were rushing us through our meal and dragging in the out door furniture midway through our dinner. Food was ok but for the price, nothing amazing. The chocolate tart desert was the best thing. Stake for two was small especially for $75. They asked when we made the rsvp if it was a special occasion and I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary but no mention of it when we got there. WHY ask??? Overall just disappointed, expected much more by way of food and atmosphere. Sadly, One and done.

Everything was outstanding. The food was amazing, as always from appetizers to dessert and coffee. The booths are so comfortable, too. Our server was great- so friendly and happy to help us with any questions . We can’t wait to come back!

First post-lockdown visit. Food is still fabulous, but the atmosphere seems considerably more casual and, on this Sunday evening in any event, featured screaming young children. It's a less elegant, though no less expensive dining experience. I got no water refills during our 80 minutes at the table. Distracted by the ruckus? Anyone's guess.

We went to Fascino's based on a glowing recommendation. I went to their website and saw 1/2 price oysters on Wednesdays. They were fresh and delicious so I'm already happy. The service was warm and welcoming. Ambience comforting. Then came the ricotta gnocchi bolognese. It was the best gnocchi I've ever had! Soft pillows of deliciousness. My husband tried half portions of 2 other pasta dishes. They were incredible as well. We will definitely be back!

Waitress only checked up on us once asking "how's the food?" while walking away. Never could track her down even when asking for the check which we had to wait for. Never got refills on our drinks.

Food was mediocre at best. Chicken was under seasoned and my pasta dish was nothing special. Sadly we regret going here.

This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always excellent with interesting combinations that work well. We had the ravioli special (split as appetizer between two of us) and the special baked halibut which was perfectly cooked, artfully seasoned, and exactly the right size portion. Cynthia's biscotti for dessert are the perfect ending to a delicious meal!
