Farrelly’s Southern Bar and Kitchen
Food was amazing. Shrimp & grits were the best I’ve ever had! Our server Ashley was so nice! Covid precautions was at like 80%. A lot of servers wearing chinstraps instead of masks.
Will definitely be back! Let’s keep supporting one of my local favs. Great Happy Hour mojito! Heirloom
Tomato salad was delicious and shrimp was excellent. Very attentive waiter.
Great food as usual. Go for happy hour for great value.
Scheduling the reservation was very easy. Upon arrival, we were greeted and immediately seated. Our waiter was there and ensured we were comfortable and had ice water.
We were not hurried in any way, but he was there when we wanted anything.
The appetizers, entrees and desserts were all outstanding and reasonably portioned.
Love this place! Excellent menu, fresh seafood specials and wine list! Ashley is a great server!
Great new place in Hoover. We have all our big family events there.
One of the best meals I have eaten, here in Birmingham.
We had. The best experience. The food was incredible. It was our anniversary and they brought us a bourbon bread pudding with Chilton County peaches that was to die for! We found a new favorite place.
I really liked it. Pricey, But worth it. Fried Green Tomatoes on Point. The bartender knew how to make an old fashioned. The butter is honey..
Fantastic service. Food was delicious....we tried a variety of things on their menu since it was our first time. Live music when we went on Fri. Practicing social distancing. Servers actually wear their masks the proper way (covering not just their mouths, but their noses as well). Bathroom was spotless. I have absolutely nothing bad or negative to say. We will definitely be going back! And bonus-they have a patio (with speakers for background music) and brunch on weekends! Woot woot!
I love everything about Farrelly’s! It’s what I would call upscale southern food. They have a nice bar area, comfortable indoor dining and great patio dining. They have menu specials throughout the week, great happy hour specials, and an awesome brunch on the weekends! The atmosphere is upbeat and friendly. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I would definitely recommend Farrelly’s!
Had a wonderful experience as always! This has quickly become a Birmingham favorite. I've already made plans to come back for the Wine Wednesday special! The grouper special was OUTSTANDING.
Thank you for your very kind review!
Wonderful dining experience!
I have been here about five times and it is always good.
I have tried just about everything and have not been disappointed, yet.
George and Eileen are great people who really know what they’re doing.
Thank you for your very kind review!
Excellent service great personality and attentive. Greatest concern was he wore mask under waiters nose. Against CDC AM and governor proclamation for businesses. That made me uncomfortable when he brought me drinks and sat close to me to ask me how everything was. Bar tender (Jordan?) made great drinks. Food exceptional. Appreciated the tables greater than recommended distance. So comfortable. I will be back. Please correct staff mask instruction.
Everything was absolutely delicious. So fresh. We had no complaints!
My wife and I went for our anniversary and the service and food was outstanding. They mentioned that it was our anniversary on our arrival due to they reservation we had made and offered us either free champagne or a dessert. They could not have been any nicer. We will go back for sure and the brunch on Saturdays and Sundays sounds very good.
This was my second time dining here and it was amazing again! The service is wonderful and the owner Always makes it a point to speak to her customers. She even remembered me from the last time and remembered our conversation! Can’t wait to return.
Yummy food and great service!
The food and all the employees were wonderful!!
We had a Wonderful experience! The food was great and the ambience was perfect for our date! Definitely recommend
Fantastic! Great playlist playing in the background, wonderful service, and amazingly delicious food! The atmosphere was so warm and cozy... Farm to Table and southern comfort! We will be back for sure!
I had chicken in lemon butter caper sauce and while it was not bad it also was not anything you'd go back for. The chicken was.undercooked and lacked any real flavor profile of it's own. My husband had the shrimp and grits with.a fried oyster appetizer. He loved the oysters and said the grits were cooked perfectly. However he said the butter was so heavy in the sauce he just couldn't finish it. But I'd be wrong to not mention how exceptional the service was.
Can’t wait to get the full menu back
Arrived on site. There were approximately 25 people in the building. Waited 10-15 minutes for someone to arrive at the table. The person who arrived was not our waitstaff and called across the building to our server. Ordered the red snapper and a 16 oz. T-bone. The T-bone was supposed to be medium rare and was medium/ medium well and the sides were incorrect. Not impressed with a gristle filled steak which was overcooked, incorrect side items, and a $94 bill. Absolutely will not return.
This restaurant is following social distancing procedures and has a small patio where we chose to eat. Their summer salad of grilled heirlooms, peaches, red onion and feta balls was delicious. They feature a Sancerre on the menu that is the perfect summer wine. I had the special of the night, Red Snapper, also very good. Great service as well. We'll be back.
The service and food are awesome! Also, their decor is fabulous and it’s a great atmosphere
Thank you for your kind comments, we are thrilled you enjoyed your experience at Farrelly's! We will also let Geoffrey know you were complimentary of his service. See you soon!
Great food and service on the patio with nice music in the background. We will be back.
Food was excellent. Service was decent but basically every mask was worth
Our first visit here was for Father’s Day and the restaurant was not running all that well. One of our meals was not delivered until the others were 3/4 done. Serving sizes were very small for the price charged. As a female, I left hungry. One of our party ordered an extra biscuit and was charged $6 for 2 biscuits. Overall, the meal was just meh. After hearing so many good things about this restaurant, l was just disappointed ... especially when we dropped over $100 for a brunch for 4 with 4 entrees. I was hoping for more. We may be back, but it will be awhile. I think I would choose another place first to be guaranteed that it would be good at that price point.
The food wasn’t great at all the chicken was not seasoned and very dry. The menu said chicken thighs and we were served breaded chicken breast tenders. We waited over 50 minute for our food. The server and hostess did excellent jobs the service was pretty good. I had the chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits neither were good at all. We also had to wait over 10 minutes for silverware once our food arrived. This was just not the experience I had such high hopes for.
Food took over 1 hour to arrive. It was brought to the table in three awkward phases 15 minutes apart. Meat was not prepared as requested (ie rare beef in lieu of medium well). Requests for basic condiments took an additional 15 minutes- world’s longest brunch for mediocre food & cocktails ( which also took 20 minutes to be delivered after requested). Would not return, ever.
The service and food was great! They were very good with sanitizing things and having sanitizer outside the doors.
This was our first time to try it after seeing many ads and comments on FaceBook. We went for the weekend Brunch. It was very good and will be back to try out the dinner menu !
Really great quality food and service but a little over priced.
Sunday Brunch at Farrelly's was very good! Servers wore masks, there was hand sanitizer available before entering, and hostess station had plexiglass protection. Our omelets were delicious!
Can’t beat the service. Such a nice new spot to try in Hoover. We enjoyed the salmon and the fish n grits. Nice drink menu too!
Great airy patio, social distancing, wait staff wearing masks- and good was amazing. Can’t wait to return.
Wonderful meal and service. Party of 4 all enjoyed!
