Wanted to try this restaurant during Napa's Restaurant week which is a great opportunity
to have two to three courses for a modest price. We were not disappointed! The two courses
included a squash soup which was amazing, with hazelnuts and greens on top, delish! The pulled pork sandwich, which EVERYONE serves, was a cut above with home made bun, cole
slaw and a very tasty bacon infused potato salad with a bite! It was a grey day but lively inside
and is really a destination with outside seating in good weather, their own gardens, a café and
wine tasting area, check it out!
Great quality food! Everything was absolutely delicious!
Such a nice and relaxing way to end our wine country weekend. Great food and great service from Raelle.
Loved the food, service, everything. No complaints. 2nd time here.
food was great, just a little expensive but most are in Napa area
Went for my son's 35th birthday - was a hit on all counts - three of us had 2 appetisers (?) , 3 entrees, and 2 deserts - all GREAT - we all tried all and all were of the same opinion - umm umm.
Looking forward to my next visit - living only 30 min away it won't be long.
Service was just right - Tommi I think - female - informative, knowledgeable and just the right amount of table service.
Really enjoyed this place. Our first time, the roasted beet salad was to die for, the deviled eggs were amazing. We also had the meatballs and steak tartar, again out of the park. Server was rwally good and freindly. We will be coming back
My review will not be the best because this was our go to place for the best burger in town. We have been coming here every year since they opened. This visit was less than par. Our burgers were delivered cold and under cooked from what we ordered them at. The waitress was very slow and we watched her walk by our food at the counter for 5 minutes and when it finally arrived it was cold. We sent it back, of course waited awhile for new burgers. The new ones were hot and cooked as we had originally ordered them. The buns they are using now are dryer than the previous ones and the sauce just doesn't taste the same. I am not sure if they are using a different vendor now for buns but not nearly as good as in years past. We still love the cheese biscuits and their appetizers are a delight but we will probably be looking for a new burger place next time we are in town.
We have eaten at Farmstead many times in the past two years. In general most of my friends who eat meat/fish have really enjoyed the food. I am a little disappointed at the two vegetarian entree options. While usually well prepared the dishes remain the same thru the year with only a few changes. There is no flexibility/no substitutions when you talk to the staff re making a dish vegetarian with the option of leaving out meat. Also, on Friday 1/19/18 we just found out that the fried potatoes ( which we have eaten several times in the past) were made in pork fat ( thanks to the honest server who pointed it out so we could choose another dish).
Service has been very good, friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good wine selection.
So, enjoy the restaurant with friends, just be aware of the limited choices if you are a vegetarian or vegan diner.
Great food and accommodating staff and chef. Dairy free dining can be a challenge and the chef worked with us to create a great food pairing that was dairy free.
