Farmhouse - Chicago
The menu ingredients are harvested from local farmers and change with the Midwestern seasons. Farmhouse offers locally sourced, pastured raised burgers, cuts their our own fries and makes almost everything from scratch on premise. We are a green tavern. 85% of the building materials, furniture and fixtures were salvaged from an abandoned factory on the South Side.
Some of the seating at Farmhouse consists of community tables, seating between eight and ten guests, encouraging a convivial atmosphere. Please be aware that smaller parties are sometimes seated at community tables.
Monday - Thursday 11 am - 12 am
Friday 11 am - 1 am
Saturday 10am- 1 am
We offer our Tavern Menu from 3-4pm Saturday and Sundays.

Food was fine but for a relatively pricey brunch place with lots of competition, I was not impressed. French toast was dry, vegetable hash under-seasoned. Server was great but I would not return.
Great spot in River North, with a varied menu that met everyone's likes.
The food was excellent. Everyone in our party of 6 enjoyed their choice. The price for this excellent meal was reasonable.
Great experience and wibe.
Upstairs is dark and the decor dingy. Ceiling fan blowing cold air straight down. The drinks took 20 minutes plus to get them after ordering. Our waiter appeared to be rushed and flustered. Our food got delivered with five of the meals mediocre at best. The sixth meal was chicken and was pink and red inside. Very undercooked. We promptly sent it back. After about 15 minutes the waiter brought my niece a salad. By the time her replacement chicken came the five of us had finished eating. She tried to eat the replaced chicken. However, she said that it was barely warm and totally tasteless. The waiter said that he took the chicken off the check. We would have expected that anyway. For the price go elsewhere. There are plenty of same priced eateries in the Loop.
Menu reads really well but food prep falls short of expectations. Nothing terrific. Ambiance is rather drab & upstairs feels like sitting at the kid's table at a family gathering. Server was clearly overwhelmed and his interest in our table was nowhere to be found
Farmhouse Chicago is a real find. The food was beautifully and creatively prepared, with flavors that popped and visual appeal. Our waiter was outstanding and the ambience was both professional and cozy. We'll be back, and our friends will, too!
Small and trendy spot not too far off of downtown. Had pickled vegetables and cheese curds as appetizers. Great complement (or maybe just a way of placating some dietary guilt early in the new year). We had the osso buco which melted in one's mouth and a craft burger. Both cooked to perfection and complemented by the Brussels sprouts. Excellent and interesting selection of ciders to sample and the server was knowledgeable about the limited but more-than-adequate wine selections. The service, provided by Laura, was exceptional: attentive but not smothering, genuine, and food service was timed just right.
Great place but the service was below average.
We were expecting a bit more of an upscale dining experience for NYE and while the food was tasty, the atmosphere just wasn’t what we had hoped for. With a limited menu of very rich and heavy foods, half of our party of 6 had difficulty finding healthy-feeling choices. And then, unfortunately, four of the six entrees were served before the other two. Waiting between 5 and 10 minutes, the other two were finally served.
If you’re looking for delicious comfort food that’s heavy, think German food, in a casual atmosphere, you’ll be satisfied.
It took 30 minutes to receive our drinks and a whole hour to receive our food after ordering. Terrible service. We had to hunt our server down to get refills and ask for the check since she would disappear for like 20 minutes. It’s a shame since the food is actually really good. Will not be coming back.
It was my parents 30th anniversary and I noted that in the open table reservation and also mentioned it to the waiter. He could not care less. Pretty disappointed about that. We had a good time and the food was excellent but the server was the least bit into it.
Absolutely outstanding food prep. Pappardelle al dente, trout beautifully moist with crisp skin, a PAUL BUNYAN pork chop at absolute perfection tender but cooked through. Fun drink choices and cute interior design. Perfect!
The food is so fresh, cheese curds to die for! The Bloody Mary was a nice treat as well -
We stopped in on a whim and loved it! The cocktails are terrific and the food first class.
The food was outstanding. Everything was very tasty and prepared well. Service was a bit slow, but that's not a bad thing. The drinks were a bit expensive. We sat upstairs and it wasn't noisy at all, which we liked. I would definitely go back
Great flatbread pizza.
The food was fantastic. My wife had the flat top steak and I ordered the venison osso buco both were cooked perfectly. Our server Paige was fantastic and answered all of our questions. We will definitely be coming back.
Not amazing, not bad. Cute vibes, but service was iffy.
4th time there . always good.. live in the burbs otherwise would stop in more
The food was good, but after that it was all downhill. Uncomfortable environment, basically a crowded bar. Service was mediocre.
Delicious food, excellent service, a very enjoyable meal. This was our second visit to Farmhouse. We will be back.
This place did not disappoint!! Excellent food, great atmosphere, great service. I love that it was all Midwest farmed, raised, brewed. Will definitely be back and we highly recommend it!!!!
The food here is generally good, as is the service. On my last visit, I enjoyed the cheese curds and the short ribs, and my drink (their special Old Fashioned) was also good. We felt like the cheese curd serving size has gotten smaller from previous visits, unfortunately. And I was disappointed with the Brussels sprouts appetizer. I'm a fan of sprouts, but these seemed underdone and lackluster.
Great selection and thoughtful seasonal menu
Excellente nourriture, excellent service.
Food was just ok and the server was a little snippy. Not a pleasant experience. Not horrible either but probably wouldn't return nor recommend.
The food is great. Fun drinks and cider flights. Just a little loud for my taste.
Fresh, local ingredients. Limited menu but something for everyone. We got a monkey bread for the table. Split a chopped salad and the breakfast sandwich. Everything was delicious! Server Erin was very friendly.
Great food, great service.
Erin was our server, and she could not have been more delightful!
Love the atmosphere. The short ribs were amazingly tender, cooked to perfection, best I’ve ever had. The cheese curds were excellent. Great wine list.
Fabulous cuisine. Loved it so much here. Clean, fresh and that farm to fresh feel.
A surly waitress and not in a good way. And we watched almost every table be served before us. The food when it did come out did not come at the same time...there was 5 of us. So by the time we all began to eat the food was lukewarm.
Food was excellent but the service was very average. Food for several people in our party was delayed (they got there food when others finished and they ordered the soup) and for others they didn’t receive what they ordered at all. Probably good for smaller groups but not a large party.
I can't say enough about our experience at Farmhouse. From start to finish, it was amazing... the food, the service, the dessert, and we even had our 3 and 1 year olds with us! They have a kids menu, a diaper changing table in the ladies room, and we still felt like we were on a date. I would highly recommend it! We hope to go back soon!
Everything tasted fresh and the staff was very friendly during a business lunch.
Best grass fed burger ever! Sometimes it’s hard to find the grass fed, organic proper food and this place really brings it. Cooked perfectly and priced very reasonably.
Brunch was so so good, for a great price too! I ordered the Farmers Breakfast with potatoes, eggs, sourdough toast, and bacon. I also really like how they source their ingredients from the Midwest. I would totally go back again and try lunch or dinner too.
Went here with a group and had a fabulous evening. Everyone loved the meal they ordered, and dessert was also amazing. Highly recommend this place!!!
Service was very slow upstairs and the drinks were not great. The cheese curds saved the night though, as they were amazing and authentic
