Farmhouse - Chicago
The menu ingredients are harvested from local farmers and change with the Midwestern seasons. Farmhouse offers locally sourced, pastured raised burgers, cuts their our own fries and makes almost everything from scratch on premise. We are a green tavern. 85% of the building materials, furniture and fixtures were salvaged from an abandoned factory on the South Side.
Some of the seating at Farmhouse consists of community tables, seating between eight and ten guests, encouraging a convivial atmosphere. Please be aware that smaller parties are sometimes seated at community tables.

Great service (patient!), accommodating with requests, and great food. Will be back!
Delicious farm-to-table food in a cozy, intimate setting. The Farro risotto was delicious.
Food, service and ambiance were great. It is pricey, but I guess you have to expect that in the city. Overall, worth it.
The drinks are overpriced for being just general brunch options, but the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is great. Definitely a good brunch option in the city. Parking was pretty easy as well.
Food was fresh and delicious!
Great service, drinks and food!
Server didn’t ask me what I wanted to drink. Didn’t offer dessert menu. Didn’t offer to box my leftovers which were substantial. Leftovers were thrown out.
Server was friendly and apologetic about wasted leftovers.
The food was excellent! Austin was our server and he was very friendly. We had a great time!
Paula is an amazing server, such quality and friendly service. The biscuits are amazing!
Good food and service, reasonably priced and plenty of parking nearby. We will be back.
Would love to know more about the origin of the food itself and the care and growth of the ingredients used. My son works on a sustainable farm in southern IN and we chose this restaurant for his specific interests (and all of our benefit!)
The drinks were outstanding. Absolutely loved the sangria-like drink (they let me omit the extra sugar!) with the fire roasted rosemary sprig. Very unique and fragrant - loved this! The food was amazing. We had the pork chop and chicken dishes and panzanella salad. Will definitely be back!
Great service, amazing atmosphere and delicious food with beautiful presentation healthy, fresh and tasty!
Food was fresh, interesting, delicious and substantial.
It was a wonderful farm to table restaurant for our family of five. Food was delicious and service was wonderful. It was a great way to end our day in Chicago.
Our 1st time here was a year ago and the quality hasn’t dropped since. If anything it’s improved a bit. Duck paparadelle was amazing. Desserts were decadent. Locally sourced food and even whiskeys! Not an easy task in Chicago. It’s certainly the best meal we’ve had in Chicago for the price.
We enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken sandwich and the burger that we had. The chicken I’m sure I’m protected from colds for at least a month! Finally, we had their cider donuts — OH MY. Clearly just made after we placed our order, they were pure delight. Our server was VERY attentive and helpful but not pushy or annoying. Farm-to-table establishments can be highly challenged in Midwest winters, but Farmhouse met the challenge well. Ambience is modest but friendly, not fancy at all.
Soup of the day was butternut squash and delicious. I also had the special sandwich of the day, barrundi. It was a little fishy. On the upper level it was very loud and sometimes difficult to hear my Associate. I’d g back but not for a serious business meeting.
Typically one of my favorites for both the Veggie Burger (typical crab cake consistency) and the chicken soup (as good as your grandmother's fresh). However, this time around I judged my experience differently. The Veggie Burger was overcooked and "smashed", the vegetable soup arrived luke warm, and the service was spotty at best. Farmhouse MGT: note my observations. You have a neighborhood gem...take note and please address as you are one of my favorites just outside of downtown Chicago!
Just a really good brunch at The Farmhouse! Fresh ingredients sourced from local farms and so very fresh. Excellent service as well.
We live in the neighborhood and get to Farmhouse occasionally. While the burger is delicious, the rest of the menu is so-so compared with other local spots so we don't go there very often. This time, our waiter was clearly uninterested and actually walked away while we were talking to him.
The cheese curds were delicious! My veggie burger was hard to eat. I wouldn’t get it again.
Good food. Good service. No complaints.
The food was delicious and our waiter was amazing. They also have the best cheese curds I’ve ever had
We loved it! Will be back... everything was outstanding though the ambiance was slightly less (just very good)...service and food off the charts... the Apple cider donuts might be the best thing we’ve ever eaten we decided among our party of eight. Great place!
Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. Our food was excellent, service was outstanding and the ambience was just right. Will definitely return!
Excellent service and food. Easy parking and attentive staff.
What is not to love? Locally produced food, lovingly produced and kindly served. Good care taken for food allergies. Tables are close together, but noise levels are fine - can easily maintain a conversation without raising your voice to be heard.
Great food, slightly pricey for what you get, would have expected a warmer/more sociable wait staff.
great brunch, great bloody mary’s, will be back
Fantastic food and great service. Two words. Rye Panzanella. Yum.
We went to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was perfect for this event. Steak and short rib were perfectly cooked and the side vegetables were out of this world good. We will definitely be back!
Very family friendly oriented place. The kids meals were delicious.
Portion is a little small.
I went for brunch, we had farmer’s breakfast, veggie harsh, trout Benedict.
Veggie harsh is more like potato + sweet potato. A lot of carbs
Trout Benedict just fine, nothing special.
Farmer’s breakfast, if u don’t like green onion like me, it won’t be the choice for you.
Great wait staff - Sam. Food was great. Atmosphere was perfect.
I took a team from work. They held a table for us in a good location. Everyone was very pleased with the food. The cheese curds were phenomenal. The service was quick. I would take my team there again.
Everything was perfect
This was our first time to Farmhouse. We had a guest who is vegetarian who doesn't like vegetables. It is often difficult to find a restaurant that makes everyone happy. Farmhouse did! We devoured the carmelized cheese dip. And we all enjoyed out entrees! I had the pork chop which everyone said was bigger than my head! Our wait staff was enjoyable. We wanted them to sit down with us! We will be back.
Food was outstanding. Great experience overall. Not noisy, not overpriced. Drinks were unusual and really good.
Paula, our server, was just lovely. Our food was tasty and the restaurant is so cute!
