Farmhouse - Chicago
The menu ingredients are harvested from local farmers and change with the Midwestern seasons. Farmhouse offers locally sourced, pastured raised burgers, cuts their our own fries and makes almost everything from scratch on premise. We are a green tavern. 85% of the building materials, furniture and fixtures were salvaged from an abandoned factory on the South Side.
Some of the seating at Farmhouse consists of community tables, seating between eight and ten guests, encouraging a convivial atmosphere. Please be aware that smaller parties are sometimes seated at community tables.

So fresh and delicious. Family friendly, warm atmosphere and staff. Accommodating. Thank you.
Have been to the Farmhouse several times for dinner and always had a good meal and friendly service. I especially like the fact that the restaurant uses high quality ingredients. And be sure somebody orders the chicken.
We love Farmhouse. Everything is SO fresh. I'm tempted to get the Farmer's Breakfast every time I go, because it is so good. And every time I go I see something that I haven't had that I vow to try next time. I had the veggie burger and my guy had the Farmer's Breakfast ... AGAIN. We had great service and received an instant re-plate when we said the eggs were too salty for our taste. I also love the casual vibe and the sense that folks are coming from all over the city to nosh on some good home-grown food.
Amazing food. Service was exceptional.
Farmhouse is a really quaint neighborhood restaurant in River North. We went on a Sunday night, early, so it wasn’t too busy and the conversation level was acceptable. They bill themselves as a midwestern farm-to-table experience and the menu reflects it. The beef is pasture-raised, the fowl from Indiana, the cheese, from Wisconsin, of course. Everything we had was delicious. We started with the recommended cheese curds which were outstanding and addictive. They came with two dipping sauces, both house made; a catchup and a horseradish; died green in honor of st. Patrick’s Day. My husband had the burger, and it arrived perfectly medium-rare as he asked, and expertly cooked fries. I had the roasted half chicken and it was the best I’ve had in recent memory. It came with potato gnocchi and a celery root cream sauce. Yum. I asked our waitress if it was sous-vied, because it was so tender, but no, they simply marinate it then roast. Whatever they do it was divine. We can’t wait to go back to try other things on the menu
The ambiance and food were very good. Enjoyed the restaurant. The kitchen split dishes so that was unexpected since many seem to simply provide an extra plate. Will go back again.
The open face breakfast sandwich was delish! Ham and Bacon on French Toast with a Sunnyside Farm Egg, Raspberry Jam, with a side of Spicy Breakfast Potatoes with melted gruyere was something I could eat everyday. The syrup in the side made each bite a perfect balance of sweet & savory.
Cousin got The white flatbread was on the Lighter side side. Tasted fine but couldn’t compare to my sandwich. The Mac & cheese was awesome just needed a shake of salt for me. Ultra creamy, rich & cheese with a lil crunch on top.
Owner comes by and checks in tables. Only annoying thing was asking 3 times for a coffee refill.
Food was absolutely wonderful! We will definitely be coming back on our next trip to Chicago! Service was wonderful as well. It was a bit noisy, but food and service made up for this! Bathroom was very cute and clean as well!
Everything was as expected! Nothing extraordinary. Try the cheese curds, you won’t be disappointed!
Great dinner! Trout was great!
Took out of town guests toFarmhouse this past weekend. Service was great - attentive but not pushy. We had great drinks. The cheese curds were amazing. All entrees were very good. Don’t skip dessert - the donuts are amazing. We will be back!
Great! So so on the music and noise but overall no issues.
Fun experience. Enjoyed the service and ambiance. The food was delicious. Had never eaten cheese curds, and they were tasty!
The service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Everyone enjoyed their food. We had Chicken, Trout and the Pork Chop. Our only concern was that they should let you know that the pork chop was enough to feed a family of 4. As we were only visiting and in a hotel, weren't able to take any leftovers with us.
Atmosphere is charming and farmhouse chic. Would highly recommend.
Tasty food and solid service
exceptionally curated and prepared menu. i would definitely return for food or drinks
Steak wasn’t the best. Trout was amazing. Awesome service! Thanks for the great night.
Always wonderful. Menu changes to offer variety. Always go when i am in town.
Loved it. The cheese curds are the best!
Had a fantastic Business Meal here. Had no problem tending to our needs and taking tax off our check for an educational institute. Food great, service great, our waiter was really attentive. Looking forward to returning.
Found this little gem! Food was incredible. Both meals at our table were incredible. Service was great. Loved it.
They were out of 2 of the main dishes so that was disappointing- not much on menu to choose from. Trout was ok. Not the best dinner we have ever had. Service was good
The food and cocktails were amazing. Our server was helpful, attentive and there when we needed her. The atmosphere was a nice mix of casual sophistication. I’d go again.
Great food. (Get the pork chop). But a little loud and wait staff was a little more aggressive than I like. But the food made up for it.
The hostess was not friendly
The server was wonderful
Delish! Great service, and the best cheese curds!
L.oved it. Will return. Food was fresh and hot. Server was knowledgeable. I am sitting here now eating the leftovers.
This was a birthday dinner, and it was a dinner to remember. Thank you for keeping the restaurant week menu for another day. We had a fabulous time.
Good home made fresh food!
Great food, fabulous service, and friendly waitstaff. Great experience
Wonderful service and excellent food!
WOW! We loved everything about Farmhouse. The vibe was casual, hip, and comfortable. The service was excellent - friendly and timely. The food was absolutely wonderful. The ingredients are super fresh. The food is not heavy or over-done. It's simple and simply delicious. And the price point is great for the quality and quantity of the food.
Service was spotty, other tables received a warmer welcome and explanation of the menu than we did. Even after a reservation, we were sat by the front door. Having never been to this restaurant before, Open Table prompted me to pick what kind of seating I would prefer. I picked "high top" but we were not sat at a high top, but rather a 2 top bistro table. Menu was far from imaginative, and someone clearly is in bed with Local Foods/Mighty Vine Tomatoes. Beer and cider list was great, however.
Came for brunch. Amazing as usual. The service excellent, Eggs Benedict outstanding, the French Toast was a huge hit. We’ll be back again and again!
Fabulous!! Cannot wait to come back!!
Excellent restaurant week menu. Tasty and a good value. Need to go back for regular service.
Great place, food was tasty and service was good as well. Very small and crowded though, but great little place for brunch
We had such a great breakfast here today...everything we ate was delicious. The vibe was relaxed and comfy. The service added to the experience as everyone was friendly and the effortless teamwork was obvious. We will certainly be back! Thank you.
Still a favorite! Good service and wonderful atmosphere for our party of 8. This restaurant takes already tasty midwestern comfort food up another notch. The pierogis are not to be missed!
Food was awesome. Very tight seating arrangements but worth it for the great food!
