Farmhouse - Chicago
The menu ingredients are harvested from local farmers and change with the Midwestern seasons. Farmhouse offers locally sourced, pastured raised burgers, cuts their our own fries and makes almost everything from scratch on premise. We are a green tavern. 85% of the building materials, furniture and fixtures were salvaged from an abandoned factory on the South Side.
Some of the seating at Farmhouse consists of community tables, seating between eight and ten guests, encouraging a convivial atmosphere. Please be aware that smaller parties are sometimes seated at community tables.
Monday - Thursday 11 am - 12 am
Friday 11 am - 1 am
Saturday 10am- 1 am
We offer our Tavern Menu from 3-4pm Saturday and Sundays.
Farmhouse Tavern is a Midwestern Craft Tavern specializing in local food and drink. We are a farm to tavern restaurant, making all of our own burgers, condiments, and sodas from scratch. And with more than 28 craft beers on tap we are sure you will find something special to wash it all down.View Private Dining Details
Great food, great service.
Erin was our server, and she could not have been more delightful!
Love the atmosphere. The short ribs were amazingly tender, cooked to perfection, best I’ve ever had. The cheese curds were excellent. Great wine list.
Fabulous cuisine. Loved it so much here. Clean, fresh and that farm to fresh feel.
A surly waitress and not in a good way. And we watched almost every table be served before us. The food when it did come out did not come at the same time...there was 5 of us. So by the time we all began to eat the food was lukewarm.
Food was excellent but the service was very average. Food for several people in our party was delayed (they got there food when others finished and they ordered the soup) and for others they didn’t receive what they ordered at all. Probably good for smaller groups but not a large party.
I can't say enough about our experience at Farmhouse. From start to finish, it was amazing... the food, the service, the dessert, and we even had our 3 and 1 year olds with us! They have a kids menu, a diaper changing table in the ladies room, and we still felt like we were on a date. I would highly recommend it! We hope to go back soon!
Everything tasted fresh and the staff was very friendly during a business lunch.
Best grass fed burger ever! Sometimes it’s hard to find the grass fed, organic proper food and this place really brings it. Cooked perfectly and priced very reasonably.
Brunch was so so good, for a great price too! I ordered the Farmers Breakfast with potatoes, eggs, sourdough toast, and bacon. I also really like how they source their ingredients from the Midwest. I would totally go back again and try lunch or dinner too.
Went here with a group and had a fabulous evening. Everyone loved the meal they ordered, and dessert was also amazing. Highly recommend this place!!!
Service was very slow upstairs and the drinks were not great. The cheese curds saved the night though, as they were amazing and authentic
Cheese curds and perogies! Great beer selection as well. Really nice casual restaurant with a produce driven menu.
The food speaks for itself here. It's delicious and the menu changes to what's in season. There was a mixup with our group's order but our server went out of her way to make it up to us. I can deal with a delay in getting my food when the service is on point!
This was not our first time to visit but our friend’s. Service was not attentive like we are used to. Our drinks did not come at the same time. Food was good but there are so many other places to go for brunch, why settle for bad service - my husband’s comment.
Perfect little restaurant; outstanding not overbaring service and honest food.
Fabulous meal. Traveling for a conference and found reviews on local blogs. Fresh ingredients. Great tasting food.
Cheese curds are awesome. Pork chop was good but a little fatty. White fish was awesome. Blonde sundae was yummy.
Rally good brunch, excellent service.
Went for Brunch with friends. Farmhouse breakfast was yummy how we instead of large chunks of potatoes could chef chop into more hash like pieces? Excellent scrambled eggs with mushrooms. Bloody Mary is delicious, just ask that one piece of salami or shrimp is added to the skewer to give extra flavor/kick. Will go back but it’s not a must-do.
Next level comfort food and creative cocktails make for a great dining experience. Staff was attentive without being intrusive. Would definitely return.
Farmhouse was a great place for going on a date. Really nice ambiance and not too loud. Good mix on menu as I prefer (require) a meal with meat, whereas my wife loves salads and soups.
I went here with a girlfriend of mine for a casual dinner on a Tuesday night. The service was great, as always and I love the atmosphere too. The grass fed burger was amazing and their delicata squash was delicious. I would love to know how the squash was cooked and what the seasoning was - if anyone finds out, please let me know! :)
Went post marathon and my runners loved everything except climbing stairs to get to our table. We’ll know to special request downstairs next time. Beers and ciders were a win. Skip the Cava. Salad, mac and cheese, flatiron steak, osso buco, and pork chop all a hit.
What a great place. Try the cheese curds it is a must! I have not ordered something I didn’t like from here.
This place gets brunch right!
The most impressive part of the restaurant is that the ingredients are not only local, but are clean and organic. I went with a friend who is very particular about eating clean, so finding a restaurant was very challenging. The food is quite delicious. I ordered cheese curds and the Venison Osso Buco and both were delectable. My friend ordered a salad the burger. We were quite pleased with the food and service. We'll be back again.
Cute little place with really good food! Our waitress was very nice too and attentive. Would come back!
It was a great place for brunch! All their veggies are made home grown.
The food was delicious and fresh, and the Bloody Mary was fantastic! Great brunch!
I came for a business lunch with a client and colleagues. My client and I had the fish fry. The fries were thick and ok, though I prefer thin cut fries. The fish was in a very thick crusty batter that was very greasy ad the fish itself was dry and overcooked. Needed something fresh & green on the plate. Otherwise, very nice, as on past occasions.
Love this place. Always intestine and tasty items on the Menu, food and drinks included. Try the Porkchop!
Our group of 8 visited Farmhouse after a Second City Best of Show on Saturday Afternoon. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. Our group consisted of dear friends who were catching up after a 5-10 year absence (in some cases), so we were there to share good food and friendship. Our waiter, Gus, had just the perfect touch in telling us about the menu and realizing we needed time for catch ups. He’s also a gracious group pic taker. The food, all of it, was stellar. We shared a range of appetizers (cheese curds, Bavarian pretzel, white eliotes flatbreads). Two of us shared the lamb shank (yes!) one had the half chicken, I had a salad with chicken and we had a couple of pasta takers. Each of us was VERY happy with the food. We didn’t sample dessert this time as we had plans at our friend’s place for more camaraderie including treats. First class experience and we highly recommend. Thanks to the Farmhouse team!
Great place to go. Love the flat bread one. Food source is fresh and taste great!
Outstanding beer list. We cocktails were well done as well. Our table loved the appetizers including the perogies, the cheese curds and the pretzel. Our friends like the entrees including bucatini pasta and the veggie burger and pork chop. Bread pudding was a perfect way to end the meal.
Delicious farm fresh food. Plan on going back soon.
Sandwiches and burgers were very dry that my friends were unable to finish them. Fries and chips were over fried and hard. Overall it was a bad experience and I am never going for a second time.
A great place that is totally an awesome restaurant experience, a quiet hideaway must do place.
The restaurant was very average. The service was good. There was nothing special about the food or the atmosphere
