Farmhouse is a Midwestern Craft Tavern focused on delivering warm hospitality, great beer and wonderful food in a comfortable neighborhood setting in the heart of River North. Focused on the Midwest, Farmhouse offers 28 beers on draft, 24 from Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. We feature local artisanal liquors and a cocktail program created by Adam Seger.

The menu ingredients are harvested from local farmers and change with the Midwestern seasons. Farmhouse offers locally sourced, pastured raised burgers, cuts their our own fries and makes almost everything from scratch on premise. We are a green tavern. 85% of the building materials, furniture and fixtures were salvaged from an abandoned factory on the South Side.

Some of the seating at Farmhouse consists of community tables, seating between eight and ten guests, encouraging a convivial atmosphere. Please be aware that smaller parties are sometimes seated at community tables.

Sister restaurant to Farm Bar in Lakeview, this place did not disappoint. The cocktails and beer list are wonderful and inventive. They focus all menu items on local selections, and the staff prides themselves on knowledge of the menu and sources. All the food was great, and the vegetarian options were substantial. Loved the beet soup appetizer - I CRAVE that daily now!

Really good food. I have never been a fan of cheese curds but the appetizer ended up bring maybe my favorite part of the meal! Solid burger, good concept with locally sourced ingredients and comfort food. Wish I had room to eat more in one sitting! Solid service as well.

Wonderful Restaurant Week menu and experience. The salad was well balanced with a variety of flavors and textures. The mushroom fussily was a hearty bowl of comfort food on a very cold day. I wanted to pick up the bowl and drink the broth, which was reminiscent of an onion soup. I normally skip or take home the dessert, but the right-sized apple crumble with dollop of ice cream was just the right finishing touch.

Had an excellent restaurant week brunch. Had some very creative Mimosa and Sangria choices...for example the Cider Sangria. The Eggs Benedict was great, and the accompanying roasted potatoes were delicious and crispy.

Even during restaurant week! Solid, scrumptious and attentive.
On a date, cozy, a bit loud on the second floor seated inches from the party going on next to us. But, hey, it is not a suburban steak house, now is it?
Nice vegetarian options, strong beer selections (Contorter Porter!) and perfectly done roasted chicken.
A nice flow to the people and the staff.
(Okay, one minor beef. Did you really completely block up the front staircase by placing a group all around it and send us to leave via the back stairs? My late fire marshal uncle is rolling over...)

We went for Restaurant Week and, as two people, could order everything on the RW menu except the fusilli. The salad and cheese curds were both perfect, but the curds did not need the ketchup. They could have stood without any sauce, but the ranch went very nicely with them too.
The “half chicken” may have been called that because that’s what it’s called on the regular menu, but what we received was an airline breast. That is slightly more than 1/8 of a chicken, nowhere near a half. Still well-seasoned, with very smooth potato purée and root veg that complemented the dish well. The Mac and cheese part of the short rib Mac and cheese was delightful, and the added bacon and veg may be offensive to Mac and cheese purists but were a pleasant addition. Unfortunately the short rib laid over it was disappointing in its absence of flavor.
Loved both desserts, two days later I am still thinking about the bread pudding.
Service was friendly and pleasant, music was a lovely 80s playlist that made me forget I wasn't listening to my own Pandora.

I love Farmhouse and the food is always fantastic. We did the restaurant week dinner and it was well worth the price and quite good. Loved the beef short rib Mac & Cheese and Chicken. Cocktails fabulous. We also ordered another side of the cheese curds. My only suggestion is to improve the desserts... I find they are always too savory. I do find the music they play just awful and it kind of ruined our somewhat romantic evening. I wish they would play jazz, or something cool instead of Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. It's not very romantic to eat dinner while listening to Thriller. They could do a MUCH better job setting the mood at this place.

Delicious menu options for the Chicago Restaurant Weeks tasting menu. I went with my sister and shared all the food so was able to sample even more variety. The cocktail list was very interesting. Reading about the mission of the restaurant made me enjoy the experience even more!

Fantastic food and a great atmosphere! It is Chicago Restaurant Week so they offered a fabulous three course prix fix brunch for $22. I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy with pork ribs. Also one of the best Bloody Marys I have ever had. Service was good but the kitchen was a little slow-give yourself time for a leisurely brunch.

This quaint restaurant has a superhero in the kitchen. A superhero with the power to disguise and elevate comfort food into gourmet meals that balance portion, flavor and elegance. Who does that? On my husband's plate was a subtle puree of squash and Malagueta Pepper (at least that's what I think the server said) and that was only the garnish. It was amazing !!!

We were at Farm House for Restaurant Week and really enjoyed all aspects of our meal. Austin was our server and he was great...professional, friendly and really took pride in his work. Also had drinks at the bar afterwards and the bartender was awesome. Would recommend and will definitely go back!
