Always my go to restaurant. Father’s Day’s menu was meh?
But the cocktails never disappoint.
We were told that there was a special Father’s Day menu. After ordering, we saw other people ordering off the regular menu which was a little upsetting. In addition, my steak, was supposed to be medium rare and it came out closer to medium and was dry.
Father’s Day. We were seated at 4:15 and were served our entree around 5:45. The restaurant was not very busy. (About 5 tables indoor). Our salmon was overcooked. Our waitress only checked on us when our food was served (3x) during the two and a half hours we were there. So, we couldn’t order more drinks. The food was mediocre. Tables seated after us got their food before us. The restaurant was hot inside. It was expensive for a mediocre experience.
We took our family here for Father’s Day. Worst experience EVER!!! Took 20 mins. for anyone to acknowledge us. It wasn’t even busy. They had a pre-fix menu which was NEVER mentioned on Open Table. There were only 3 choices & it was expensive for what you could order. We thought of leaving but because it was a special occasion, reservations would have been impossible to get elsewhere. They brought the kids meals out before the adult meals. They were done eating before we even got our salads. The steaks were the worst we have ever eaten. They were like eating leather. We asked for 1 steak without mushrooms. That didn’t happen. They took it back & immediately brought us another steak well done. We asked for medium rare. By this time we were over the whole thing. Our desserts came out while we were still eating our main course. The manager was screaming at his cooks… we could hear them in the kitchen arguing. We received the wrong bill at the end of our meal & the waitress never asked the kids if they wanted dessert. I have absolutely nothing good to say about this restaurant. It’s too bad because we’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past. I really wished we walked out. We spent way too much money on garbage. We will NEVER return.
Love sitting at the bar. Great location great cocktails and food
I’ve been here many times. Nice space, but our service wasn’t great. It was slow, our glasses of water were slammed on the table… didn’t seem inviting as an overall experience.
Service is important. The waitress forgot our drink and then when the meal was brought to our table, she forgot the toast. We had to ask for the butter and jelly when that was forgotten as well. I see a theme of forgetfulness.
I have eaten here many times and was disappointed with the service. It will be awhile before I want to go back.
La Mesa Farmers table never disappoints. The Sautéed Octopus was fantastic and well garnished. Cocktails were top notch.
Great place for a birthday breakfast!
Accommodation of large party was fantastic. Order for food over 1 hour. Time to get check was another 30/40 mins. Overall breakfast time was 2.5 to 3 hours. Too long but food was great
We were behind a party of 22 and the service was still great! The staff was attentive, accommodating and friendly. The food and bloody Mary’s were delicious!
I heard wonderful things about this restaurant so I definitely wanted to go. I booked my reservation at 8:35 pm last night and verified that the restaurant would be open until 10:00 pm. I scheduled our reservation for 8:45 pm and arrived at 8:39pm. We were seated by the bartender because the hostess was not present. Before we could even sit down, a waiter approached us and said that the kitchen was closed? He just said sorry and walked away. I was very irritated to say the least. Why would there be open reservations available and why was I told the restaurant wouldn’t close until 10:00pm? The overall experience was very disappointing.
Always wonderful food that is quite imaginative. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed, but was very professional. The weather was perfect to sit outside. Will definitely come back again.
My husband wanted an early dinner somewhere new and my son recommended this place previously for a brunch we had. (I didn’t even know this place did dinner too) my brunch with my son’s family was great so I told my husband we should try Farmers Table.
Oh wow! It was a fabulous experience. Decor was super farmhouse cool.
My husband ordered a custom made calzone and I ordered the special which was halibut. His calzone was HUGE and my Halibut was the best I ever had and I am a big halibut lover. I pretty much licked the plate.
My husband also order the Brussel sprouts as an appetizer and they were cooked with figs. What a tasty combination.
We will be back. We will bring family and friends! This will be my favorite go to place when I want to spoil myself (which is a lot) or when I want to impress someone.
Always enjoying going to Farmers Table in La Mesa
Great atmosphere, food was excellent and the service was great.
All the restaurants downtown and on the coast were packed, so we decided to head into La Mesa. . . what a great idea. . . great food, super friendly service, cheery spot, and best of all, not packed and high pressure or fast paced. . . a nice family dinner spot it was.
Excellent pasta, great subtlety in taste variations. Wonderful, casual ambiance!
Fantastic dinner as always....great to be able to go back and enjoy a good meal
Came here to celebrate our son’s HS graduation for brunch. The front desk starter was very polite and accommodating as well as our server. We ended up changing tables to a better spot with no issue. The food tasted great and had a nice portion size. Will definitely be back to explore more menu options.
A great dinner, food outstanding. Waiter was fantastic
Service was very slow, messed up 3 omelettes
So nice to be able to get out and enjoy dinner and family!
The food was outstanding but the service was deathly slow and they didn’t anticipate anything, had to ask for basic things like appetizer plates, salt, to order, water refills. I will return and hope it’s a little better next time.
Great service! Great food...love their salads and flatbreads!! Pretty dang loud...but what would one expect with the excitement of getting out after being locked up for soooo long!!
Good food. Nice portions
We just had pizza, salads and cocktails and they were all delicious! Service was great.
Reliving our first date by coming back to this restaurant and was completely disappointed from the beginning. The hostess was rude and took a reservation midway through our check in. We were sat in back corner of the restaurant, behind the restrooms despite our special occasion request. The food was mediocre and in the end having to pay $100 for a meal that wasn’t worth a fraction of that. First time 2-1/2 yrs ago was a charm but we will NOT be back.
I wasn’t sure what I was to expect but the food was delicious
Love this restaurant. Both the ambiance and food are usually good. This time my pork chop was way over cooked. Dry and even hard to cut but the appetizer and service were great. We will be back
This restaurant overbooks reservations, this was our third visit with reservations and had a 30 minute wait to be seated each time.
Food was good, service not so good. Manager did attempt to explain the wait and offered complimentary deserts but overall not a good feeling.
This is my 3rd visit, 2 for breakfast and 1st foe dinner. Nothing changed. PreCovid and almost post Covid experience is the same. Slow service, food needs flavor, great presentation but overall average for the pricing.
I can understand the lack of salt and pepper at the table but pepper mills have usually only been handled by wait staff anyway. Tiny packages of pepper are silly, larger packs can be had at McDonald's. Bring your own S&P!
Good food, excellent service. The seats were directly in the sun so you were squinting the whole time but other than that, everything was great
Great food. Poor service again. Tried lunch this time because of location. Not again.
Great Food! This a nice place to have a big group.
It’s always pleasant! Food is never disappointing!
Excellent service. Interesting menu, good cocktails and wine very tasty food. We dined outside and it was very pleasant.
Love their GF pizza! In fact, I have to have one once a week. Their dough is light and airy - just like a wheat dough, and then wood fired. So good!
Went around happy hour time: initially when we got there, we waited to be seated because no one was at the front. But, there were employees everywhere inside, so I’m pretty sure one of them noticed we were standing there! When we were seated, the only food items available were pizza, soup and salads. No appetizers. We were bummed, but ok. Overall, the food and drinks were good. The restaurant is really cute inside and the bathroom was clean. Our servers were friendly as well.
One note: check the hidden happy hour deal: order two drinks off the regular drink list and you get a free pizza. (They never said that when we ordered)
