Farmers Fishers Bakers Ratings and Reviews
We did the brunch buffet. Our server was so chipper and energetic! Everything we ate was delicious - pita & spreads, guacamole & chips, French toast with whipped cream from scratch, paella, sushi rolls, cinnamon rolls... EVERYTHING! The staff was so kind and helpful. We had two toddlers in our party & the staff was incredibly understanding with us the whole time. We will definitely be back!
Always love the Founding Farmers restaurants, and have wanted to try FFB for some time. Finally had a chance to try it, and like the other locations it didn’t disappoint. Definitely one of our favorite reataurant ‘chains’ that son’t feel chain like. We had dinner and drinks before the Kennedy Center On Your Feet show. Great meal, great service and an outstanding show!!
The entrees were tasty but the side dishes could use a LOT of work. I like the concept of farm fresh foods but it seemed as if their menu was all over the place. The whole table had a hard time choosing drinks but the server did give suggestions and answered any questions (hence the three stars). I would have loved to give the server more stars on the count of his knowledge and suggestions of the food and drinks; however, he became very distant and inattentive once we got our food (never checked on us). We were there celebrating a birthday and had plans after dinner. We let him know before we ordered our food that we were celebrating a birthday and once our food came. Needless to say, my sister's birthday plate (plate with "Happy Birthday" written on it, whipped cream, a candle, and a couple of berries) came out with the check. My sister barley was able to enjoy it (what little "it" there was before we had to rush out the door). Overall, it was ok but from what I had heard I was expecting better.
the hosts of this establishment were incredibly ill prepared for any sort of business at 4:30 on a saturday. it took us almost 30 minutes to finally get seated and this was with reservations. once seated it took a long time for service. other than that everything was wonderful. our server was very friendly and provided great recommendations. our food was great and would highly recommend people eat here.... problem is getting a table in a timely manner.
Food was OK—- lacks a degree of flavor. The wings were good. The shrimp salad was a mass of frozen shrimp and mayonnaise. Tasteless. The grilled cheese burger tried too hard to be clever. The impossible burger— vegetarian was disgusting. Drinks were good. Did not care for hostess— rude. Asked to sit at booth and given attitude.
I well enjoyed this place! The staff was nice. They did not have an omelet station so I was a little disappointed. Also, the waiter recommended the cook book,to learn how to recreate the baked chicken. So, we go all the way home with the book but the damn recipe wasn't even in it.
The prices here are amazingly good for the location in Georgetown by the waterfront. My dish was Seafood Bucatini and it was outstanding. I already want to go back and have it again! $20 for a dish loaded with seafood seemed very reasonable to me in this area. This place also has "cheap" items like $13 burgers and pizzas. It's got an extensive menu with a huge range of options to appeal to all tastes and price ranges, so I would recommend it to just about anyone, just make sure to get a reservation! it was packed.
Sunday brunch is good for gluttony. Took my family to Sunday brunch. Started off being seating 30 minutes after our reservation (it became clear they forgot about us). We were seated in a very cool booth, which was ideal for conversations and people watching. There is no menu at brunch, buffet only. The buffet has hits and misses: hits are tacos and guac; misses are oily sauteed vegitables and soggy french toast. You can also ask the waiter to bring certain items (pizza, benedict, sushi, and biscuits, are the keys). Those two are hit or miss.
Overall Sunday brunch is good if you want volume. I don' plan to go back.
This restaurant was a big disappointment. The food was not special and the server while pleasant was not helpful with the menu. The mussels with mushrooms in cream had one slice of mushroom. The server said she would check with the kitchen and reported this was supposed to be a mushroom broth with cream. Regardless, it wasn't very tasty. The pork tacos were bland. On the plus side, the popcorn was great!
I have been to founding farmers multiple times and find I very good. I was expecting a similar experience and am sorry to say it was not. They were out of bananas so I couldn’t order the cocktail I wanted. Not a big deal, but it was annoying. We sat and had multiple people come over saying they would be our server and then finally had someone come to say they were taking over. I ordered the fried fish platter and it was so deep fried, the seafood was rubbery. I ended up getting it to go because I thought maybe it was just me and hated to waste it. My husband said the same thing and he ended up cutting open the scallops and they were so small. I get Bay scallops are small, but these were smaller than a miniature marshmallow. For the money, I would expect better quality seafood and fried fish of better quality than fast food. Sorry, I don’t mean to be so negative; it was that bad.
Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Perfect balance of there when you need them, but not always interrupting. Food was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful, and the bar was great at catering to varying tastes. Had them whip up a special cocktail that was fantastic, and got to name (ask for the Emerald Seas ;) ). They also did a great job of helping us celebrate a very special occasion.
