Love this restaurant!!!
Great Selections for a picky group! There is something fir everyone!
Consistent... great food and drink options. The service is great and in comparison to surrounding venues, they are at the top.
We were unfortunately not able to make our reservation on time but the staff did a great job of accommodating us and helped us have a great time
I love this place and have never been disappointed with my food. I took a friend last time and she ordered something she was unfamiliar with and felt like she didn't get at all what the menu implied. So - that is where I would be careful. The menu makes the dishes sound DELISH. But, I would recommend going with your gut, and choosing something you know you like. Then you will be totally wowed, because the restaurant makes it takes GREAT. Fresh, local foods with a great flavor. MAKE A RESERVATION - because no matter what day it is there is always a wait after 6:00.
The waitress was very absent throughout our entire dining experience. At one point I had to ask the manager to find her because she was missing for so long.
Excellent food and service. Server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.
This was my third visit and still a favorite for me.
Food was amazing! Service was slow and took forever for drinks, refills etc. I would definitely return since we enjoyed the food so much but hope service is a little better next visit
This restaurant chain has so much potential, but the service and food quality often fall flat. This location, overlooking the Potomac River, is decorated with the familiar farming theme and is pleasnt. Our service was adequate, but at times just barely attentive -- it shouldn't take 30 minutes to take an initial drink order. The food was tasty enough and portion sizes were fine, but not spectacular. Expensive for an adequate dining experience.
This is a GREAT restaurant! Every single person in my party was extremely pleased with the restaurant and the experience. The food was delicious and the ambience was top notch! My only critical feedback points would be that the background music was too loud (we asked our waiter to turn it down, which he was able to do) and the nook that they had us in was a little warm (temperature-wise). They were unable to adjust the temperature.
I’ve been to this restaurant several times but recently went for Fathers Day. As usual, the food was fantastic but the service was absolutely terrible. It took over 30 Minutes for our waitress to come to our table. At that point, she told us she was “taking over” our table but I’m not sure what that meant. A few minutes before that, someone came and took our drink order for the table but my cocktail never arrived. The other two drinks arrived separately from each other too. When I let the waitress know my cocktail never arrived, she had no idea I even ordered one and told me she’d go ahead and submit the order. I guess they entered two but forgot the third. Once we got our food, the waitress never came back to the table until we were all completely done eating. The waitress being so absent was weird since they don’t actually deliver anything to the tables. We were never asked how things were, if we needed anything else, or refills on water (the containers on the table were empty before we were done eating).
This was our first visit and we will definitely return for brunch. The buffet was plentiful, neat, clean and orderly with lots of variety. Service was both friendly and prompt. We had a reservation and were seated within a few minutes of arrival. We were offered a comfortable seat while waaiting. We were disappointed not to find fish and seafood offerings among the buffet selections. We did place an order for fried shrimp with our server, but would have liked to find steamed shrimp and baked/grilled salmon, shrimp and grits available at the buffet. We plan to return again in the near future and hope to find seafood rotated into the buffet selections.
Really great time. We will do again
FFB is our "go to" restaurant in Georgetown. We really enjoy going there.
It was a bit loud and service was a little slow, but everyone was cordial and the food was prepared well.
My husband and I had been to this Georgetown resturante twice before following a matinee performance at the Kennedy Center. Great location with lots of energy. We had reservations and were anxious for our friends to experience Farmers, Fishers, Bakers. Unfortunately, a series of events led us to determine this restaurant is not near the place it was the previous 2 years. Front desk appeared very disorganized as crowd grew waiting to be seated. Our server Greg however was great - knowledgeable of the food and beverages on the menu as well as super friendly. Thirsty, our guys were disappointed/shocked in the size of their drinks. Never had such a small Martini or Old Fashioned - and of course, at DC prices! Appetizers were good but my Ahi tuna salad entree was awful. We initially sent it back as there didn't appear to be
any tuna! Greg agreed, and "resubmitted" my order. It returned with a few small chunks but not nearly the 3 ounces they claimed to serve. The salad consisted of chunky cabbage which made it bitter. I couldn't eat it. Husband's scallop dish was adequate and friends' dinners ok. Once bill arrived, we noticed we were charged for 2 Ahi Tuna salads! Gees, another 10 minutes to get that taken care of! No need to return. Nothing special other than expensive!
This is one of our favorite places to eat. Good value. Always good food. When we eat inside it is too noisy, prefer to eat outside.
I brought my husband here for a pre-Father's Day treat. The restaurant is in a great location and it's on our list of restaurants to try in the DMV area--we're 2 years new to DMV. I wasn't really impressed by the brunch selection, especially for $32 per person. I'm not a picky eater and can eat fast food or in the nicest of restaurants. The shrimp was good when it was first brought to our table, but 5 minutes later, it was tough and not very good. The biscuits were hard. The muffins on the eggs benedict were burned around the edges. With the exception of the carrot cake, I didn't like any of the desserts. I did like the sweet tortillas, the breakfast jambalaya, and the seafood dip. My husband wants to return to try selections from the menu, but that'll be our only reason for returning.
The food here is always fantastic. Prices? A little on the high side.
But the food is so damn good.
I have to be real with you FFB, you favorite restaurant in DC; and each time that I have been (5) minus today...have been the epitome of dinning experiences. Each time that my wife arrive at FFB we notice one server that simply did not look as welcoming as the other servers in the restaurant, and hoped that we never seated in his area...well today was the day. The experience that we had hoped that we would never get...we got! There was no warm welcome...it was more of a very bland check in the box. Now don't get it twisted, we enjoyed the food but the lackluster service was not in keeping with the high standard of service that we have come to expect from FFB. Will this experience keep me from coming back...NO, but it did make it a little harder to come off $70.
Love the concept but my palate is not happy with hot spicy seasonings. Thought it was a safe bet to get grilled vegetable and Brie sandwich with fries. Spicy mustard spread on the sandwich. Grilled vegetables, not exactly- raw spinach, cucumbers, raw onions. Fries had a Cajun pepper dusted on them. Menu could be clearer about that. The bread is divine. My husband loved the tuna sandwich. Forget about having a conversation as it is extremely noisy.
Our server on Friday night was great, very knowledgeable and nice. The restaurant was very busy this night. I had made a birthday dinner reservation for two. I had to wait at the front for 10mins to talk to a host. Our reservation was at 9:30 and we didn’t get sat until 9:45. On open door i had requested a table outside and to my disappointment the host had no available tables outside because of all the people who were just sitting out there after their dinner service was over. Also the restaurant was very loud as well so we could barely talk over our dinner. Overall i would give my experience a 5 out of 10.
Good restaurant. Truly great service and delicious cocktails but it really seems more expensive than it should be for what you’re getting.
They didn’t acknowledge our birthday celebration even after mentioning it to the hostess- service was slow but good- food choices great
Our app, dinner, drinks, and service were excellent. However, the bananas foster was a huge disappointment. It was not done like a typical bananas foster which includes alcohol, cooked bananas, and flambé. What we received was a soupy mess and not worth eating—recommendation removing from your menu if you’re not going to do it right.
Delish pizza! Guacamole perfect! Drinks strong! And the fish tacos were some of the best I've ever had! Way to go DC!
I took my wife here for her birthday dinner and everything was perfect. The service was friendly, attentive, unobtrusive - our server knew everything about the menu but didn't overstay his welcome. My wife's food allergies were addressed in a meticulous, but understanding and friendly manner. The bill was totally reasonable. I'd go back here in a heartbeat.
The only complaint I have is no one came to our table for 15 minutes. I had to go to the bar to ask for a manager. I did not like the reason that a waiter/waitress was not on staff yet to service that seating area. If you notice people are sitting in the area you should ensure they are being served.
The good thing is the manager and waitress that I served us was awesome. The food as always absolutely good. My co-worker had never dined at Farmers but she loved her food and drink. I have to agree my food was awesome.
We were there to celebrate High School Graduation. Tiffany was our waitress and was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered wonderful suggestions. Everyone was thoroughly pleased with these meal.
Great food and location.
Fantastic! We had mussels in the creamy mushroom sauce and the crab cake sandwich, washed down with house made lemonade and iced tea. It was a perfect lunch by the water.
Great place to catch an early dinner before a Kennedy Center show. We all (4) enjoyed seafood entrees which were well prepared and served promptly (we had informed our server of our time-line). Desserts were over-sized, so we would have been well-served splitting two instead of having individual portions, but we persevered. The place can be loud, but we were fortunately seated in a quieter area of the restaurant, as we had requested. Worked beautifully!
I love the privacy of the round table, the hostess was very accommodating, and our waiter was very attentive. The overall experience exceeded expectations!
Everything was great from food, service and price. Our waitress was very good, kind and pleasant.
The one thing that disappointed us was, she recommended a wine that was good for $40 and posted a taste and upon approval pored us each a glass. Perfect but after that we were on our own pouring the wine even though she was attentive and often topped off the water. I did tell her and she took it well. Even with that it was a good experience and I would recommend the restaurant and waitress as well.
Service was incredibly slow.
The service was so bad, we will not be back. Our business lunch (nine people) took over two hours. It took a full hour for the food to arrive. The waitress forgot to bring one person's drink. We never got bread or anything while we were waiting, so the whole first hour we just sat there. They could not keep the water bottles on the table full. The waitress gave us a huge lecture when we asked for separate checks and then said she couldn't really do that but if we had wanted that we should have asked for it the minute we sat down (?) - that was bizarre. We go to Founding Farmers (same company) all of the time and it's good so I am not sure what is going on with this restaurant but I will not ever be returning. Sad because the food was pretty good, the location is nice, and I liked the wine selection. But the service was that bad.
