Farmers Fishers Bakers Ratings and Reviews
As expected it was very busy for thanksgiving. We had a reservation at 4:45 PM and were seated around 5:10 PM. Service was very slow to start, we sat with our menus for roughly 10 minutes before we met our server and was served water. Food was great, but unfortunately when our server was boxing up our leftovers at the table, she spilled gravy all over my coat and purse. The restaurant paid for our meal which was a nice gesture.
We had dined at the restaurant several times for brunch so thought the experience would be a pleasant one , unfortunately it was far from that in all aspects. Even though we were seated as expected ( our reservation was at 1:00PM) things went horribly down hill from that point. After receiving our first course the staff hovered around the tables waiting for guests to finish or appear finished with the item only to rush in and snatch plates off the table as quickly as possible then rush in with the next item. Food quality was mediocre and several items on the plate were cold. It seemed as if the restaurant was more interested in quantity rather than quality.
My friend was thrilled with my selection of this place for Thanksgiving feast. Rez at 12:15 and we were seated exactly at that time. Efficient, pleasant wait staff took orders, brought food, whisked away plates, and boxed our leftovers without attitude. Perfectly prepared and presented. In and out in 75 minutes. Friend made me promise that we will return when she is next in town.
Thank you for having vegan entree option on Turkey Day.
If this is your first visit, look carefully at the photo on their website and note the yellow chairs outside, as the name above door is gray, blends into the gray wood, is not highly visible. We had been in front of the restaurant on the river walk, still didn't see it, walked all the way around the building, called, and asked several people for directions, before we finally found the place.
Was extremely disappointed in the overall experience. The hostess was incredibly rude upon our arrival, we were seated in a noisy uncomfortable booth in the bar, and our food arrived cold and stale - as if it had been sitting on the counter for ages before being brought out.
I had a terrible experience at this location of the Farmer's restaurants. I frequent Founding Farmers but this was my first time at the location. I told my server twice that I could not eat onions. My entree arrived with shallots (which are part of the onion family) and I had to send it back. This really upset me because it caused my entire meal to be disturbed and my family had to eat while my food was being prepared again. The manager, Eric, came over over to lecture me on how shallots aren't exactly onions right in front of my family causing further embarrassment and anger. I went and had a side conversation with him and explained that I cook and I know that onions come in many shapes, eg. green, scallions, shallots. Either way my dinner was ruined and I left without eating an entree at all.
The brunch buffet is open until 3:00 pm with the last seating at 2:00. By 2:20 key items were running low - such as the roasted brisket, grilled vegetables. By 2:30 they had run out and were not replenished. The service was mediocre because the servers were overwhelmed. We won't return.
At $35/person (including Tax), the brunch was an outstanding value. Our server was very friendly and had a great sense of humor and the food was delicious. The one thing that would’ve made it perfect is if the food items were labeled. But there was wonderful variety and everything tasted so good!
Food was DELICIOUS. The only reason I gave this place a 4 out of 5 was because we made a reservation for 6 but did not get seated til closer to 6:40. Usually it wouldn't be a big deal but we made the reservation because we were wanting to catch a show at 7:30. Luckily, our waiter knew we were in a rush and made it happen with no problem.
Have been to FFB for amazing dinner several times but wanted to see what the hype was all about for brunch. Sad to say but was so disappointed. The buffet hadn't been refreshed in what looked an hour or more and the remaining food clearly had been sitting out for a while. Took over 30 minutes to get a single cocktail and our sever hardly even acknowledged us. The trays with food only came around once and it appeared that staff was generally absent.
The food was decent but insanely overpriced for such low quality service. Waited an additional 30 minutes just to get the check. $60 wasted (brunch+1 drink + tip) on such a sad brunch. Will just stick to dinner here from now on. Not the typical high quality experience I'm used to getting at FFB.
Remarkable and extraordinarily service. Waiter never let our glass get empty, food was promptly prepared, friendly and informative staff, eco- friendly, great environment, and luxurious vibe. Also food was generous portions; and the best part, leftovers taken home had the same fresh taste as if it has jus been prepared even after reheating.
We arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation at 7pm due to a wrong turn in the Lyft. I called when we realized we would be late and the said as long as we arrived withing 15 minutes of our res we would be fine. Upon arriving they offered us outdoor seating with heat lamps (in November) or a short wait to sit indoors. We chose indoors and were eventually seated 35 minutes after our res. The service was good, we had the hot crab dip (outstanding), my girlfriend had the spaghetti with clams (very good) and I had the steak frites. The serving size of the steak was very small, smaller than I would expect from a top quality cut of beef which this was not, and was burned to a crisp. Given I had ordered my steak medium rare when asked, I told the waiter and they were very accommodating in bringing me fresh steak cooked extremely well. The host/manager even stopped by to apologize which was a nice touch. In total though, service was a tad slow at times and our meal took over an hour and a half and we did not have dessert. Would certainly visit again or check out other of their affiliate restaurants, but not the most amazing restaurant experience I have ever had.
My husband and I went to Farmers Fisher Bakers for our tenth anniversary and it was amazing. We were late for our reservation due to traffic in DC, but they were ready for us and seated us promptly. The wait staff was amazingly helpful and friendly, the food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was pretty good. I would recommend this to anyone!
Exceptional service, staff knowledgeable particularly about wine & cocktails. I was by myself arriving the evening before the start of an all day business meeting. Had dinner at the bar and met interesting people and had intellectually stimulating discussion.
We had a dinner reservation but arrived much earlier than planned and they weren’t able to seat us at a table
We decided to sit at the bar and had an awesome time
The beer selection was plentiful
Dinner was delicious and great service at the bar!!
Second time there and would highly recommend it
