Farmers Fishers Bakers Ratings and Reviews
The brunch buffet is open until 3:00 pm with the last seating at 2:00. By 2:20 key items were running low - such as the roasted brisket, grilled vegetables. By 2:30 they had run out and were not replenished. The service was mediocre because the servers were overwhelmed. We won't return.
At $35/person (including Tax), the brunch was an outstanding value. Our server was very friendly and had a great sense of humor and the food was delicious. The one thing that would’ve made it perfect is if the food items were labeled. But there was wonderful variety and everything tasted so good!
Food was DELICIOUS. The only reason I gave this place a 4 out of 5 was because we made a reservation for 6 but did not get seated til closer to 6:40. Usually it wouldn't be a big deal but we made the reservation because we were wanting to catch a show at 7:30. Luckily, our waiter knew we were in a rush and made it happen with no problem.
Have been to FFB for amazing dinner several times but wanted to see what the hype was all about for brunch. Sad to say but was so disappointed. The buffet hadn't been refreshed in what looked an hour or more and the remaining food clearly had been sitting out for a while. Took over 30 minutes to get a single cocktail and our sever hardly even acknowledged us. The trays with food only came around once and it appeared that staff was generally absent.
The food was decent but insanely overpriced for such low quality service. Waited an additional 30 minutes just to get the check. $60 wasted (brunch+1 drink + tip) on such a sad brunch. Will just stick to dinner here from now on. Not the typical high quality experience I'm used to getting at FFB.
Remarkable and extraordinarily service. Waiter never let our glass get empty, food was promptly prepared, friendly and informative staff, eco- friendly, great environment, and luxurious vibe. Also food was generous portions; and the best part, leftovers taken home had the same fresh taste as if it has jus been prepared even after reheating.
We arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation at 7pm due to a wrong turn in the Lyft. I called when we realized we would be late and the said as long as we arrived withing 15 minutes of our res we would be fine. Upon arriving they offered us outdoor seating with heat lamps (in November) or a short wait to sit indoors. We chose indoors and were eventually seated 35 minutes after our res. The service was good, we had the hot crab dip (outstanding), my girlfriend had the spaghetti with clams (very good) and I had the steak frites. The serving size of the steak was very small, smaller than I would expect from a top quality cut of beef which this was not, and was burned to a crisp. Given I had ordered my steak medium rare when asked, I told the waiter and they were very accommodating in bringing me fresh steak cooked extremely well. The host/manager even stopped by to apologize which was a nice touch. In total though, service was a tad slow at times and our meal took over an hour and a half and we did not have dessert. Would certainly visit again or check out other of their affiliate restaurants, but not the most amazing restaurant experience I have ever had.
My husband and I went to Farmers Fisher Bakers for our tenth anniversary and it was amazing. We were late for our reservation due to traffic in DC, but they were ready for us and seated us promptly. The wait staff was amazingly helpful and friendly, the food and drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was pretty good. I would recommend this to anyone!
Exceptional service, staff knowledgeable particularly about wine & cocktails. I was by myself arriving the evening before the start of an all day business meeting. Had dinner at the bar and met interesting people and had intellectually stimulating discussion.
We had a dinner reservation but arrived much earlier than planned and they weren’t able to seat us at a table
We decided to sit at the bar and had an awesome time
The beer selection was plentiful
Dinner was delicious and great service at the bar!!
Second time there and would highly recommend it
My parents came into town to visit myself and my husband, and my dad actually suggested this restaurant. He heard from a friend that it was really good. We booked a 6:15 pm reservation and arrived at 5:30. The hostess told us that they were seating people close to their reservation time but she checked us in. No worries, we didn't really expect to be seated early anyways, and we decided to stand by the Harbor and take photos. At 6:05, we headed back inside, still expecting to wait a bit longer, but we just wanted to warm up. At 6:15, I checked with the hostess, and she said there was a 30 minute wait on all reservations due to the crowd. That was fine; we understood. But by 7:00, we still weren't seated. When my mother asked the hostess about it, she said there were 4 other 6:15s who checked in before us and so we still had to wait. When we told her that we checked in at 5:30, she just looked at us confused. Either she didn't pay attention to the schedule, or the first girl didn't actually check us in. Either way, it was very annoying. Finally, just over an hour later, we were seated in a booth. The restaurant was quite cold, and we were not seated anywhere near the door. The server was wonderful, but the food was average and not at all worth the wait, especially since we had a reservation. We did not find anything special enough about the restaurant to counterbalance the bad host service, and so we more than likely will not return.
This was my 3rd time at Farmers Fishers Bakers. I absolutely love this restaurant due to the food and the overall ambiance. Food did not disappoint. My family ordered the salmon, the steak, jambalaya, and the "impossible" burger. We ate absolutely everything! The only thing a bit frustrating was the wait time. We had reservations for 4 people at 6pm.. we got there at 5pm and understood we were an hour early and asked if we can move up our reservations. They said unfortunately they couldn't and were seating people close to reservation time. That is perfectly fine. Not a big deal. My family ended up exploring Georgetown and shopping for the hour. The restaurant did check us in at 5pm and said they were going to at least check us in and let us know via text message if seat became available early. Definite perk. We returned back to the restaurant 5 minutes til 6, and did not get seated til 6:30pm. The whole place was just so busy. I was a bit disappointed just because my parents came from out of town and it was their first time there. Aside from that, they really enjoyed their food.
I had high hopes for this place but I will not be going back. Our reservation was at 530PM however we weren’t seated until 640PM, in my option this was the most egregious offense as it threw off our plans for the remainder of the evening. Next my dish was cold and needed to be sent back, the food was good once it came back but by the time I received my hot food my dining companions had finished. Finally we had a extra item added to our bill, normally not a huge deal but after everything we had to deal with it was not a good way to end the meal.
Great food is reflect in a great menu and that is what you get at Farmers Fishers Bakers. Something a little different is very welcome and they deliver. Everything was prepared well with no issues and the flavors were wonderful, interesting, and fresh. Would highly recommend.
I had a party of four, three of whom had multiple--only occasionally overlapping--allergies. While we all recognize that eating out *anywhere* always carries some chance of cross contamination, the staff here really went above and beyond to make sure we felt safe and taken care of. The food itself was absolutely phenomenal. I would absolutely recommend, and will look forward to a return trip the next time I need to be in that area again!
The allergies were--Person A: vegetarian and allergic to dairy and mushrooms; Person B: allergic to mushrooms, soy, and gluten; Person C: allergic to gluten (celiac); mildly allergic to onions. I'd recommend mentioning the allergies when making a reservation, when you check in, and with your server, but they know what they're doing here.
Great food and atmosphere. I was was a bit disappointed in the amount of time I had to wait for seating despite having reservations. I had to wait close to 40 minutes to be seated after my reservation time.
The staff was apologetic which was great. I will still this this restaurant another try in the future.
They have something for everyone... From the picky child to the sensitive stomach adult. It's a great location probably the best and it's area as it appeals to everyone. Highly recommend for the upcoming winter season as the ice skating rink will be right outside. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of food you get.
Really enjoyed the Saturday morning brunch offerings! We came early on Saturday, which is a good time to come as the restaurant really fills up later. The brunch was varied and delicious, fresh with lots of unusual offerings. Beautiful salads and a nice variety of desserts as well as delicious egg and meat dishes, pastas and special dishes like paella and soft taco bar. Baked goods were fresh, hot and delicious. Server Pau was so nice. Will come again!
