Farmers Fishers Bakers
The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.
It was delicious
I always bring visitors to FFB! It has such an expansive menu, cocktail list and fun atmosphere that it is sure to be a hit with anyone.
Their menu is a large variety of anything you may want for dinner. As the name suggests, they use fresh produce & seafood and offer fresh baked goods. Their drink menu is just as extensive as the food. They also offer drinks using spirits from their sister restaurant Farmers & Distillers. I absolutely love dining here and highly recommend!
We love FFB! We come here all the time. Unfortunately, this time we had a very unpleasant smell when we walked into the restaurant (like a combination of fish and someone really needing to shower). It seemed to primarily only be in the front of the restaurant, but it did linger a bit back by where we were seated. This definitely isn't the norm, though, and other than that, everything was great!
Had a great experience at FFB. Lots of choices on the menu. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals.
Waited for table 20 + minutes after reservation time, service overall was slow. Food was great.
Good for smaller tables. Hard to hear people. Sushi, pizza, etc. takes a long time to get to the table.
I've had great experiences at Farmers Fishers Bakers, however, my most recent visit was not one of those. We visited for the brunch buffet this past weekend. At $32 per person for food only, I expect much better.
My main complaint is the buffet being extremely understocked--we had to wait for the main dishes to be refilled every time we went up to the buffet. We waited for flatbread to be brought out for the dip bar, and about 30 slices were brought out for a packed restaurant...then the dips were empty. Likewise, with the french toast, grits, guacamole, and eggs. All were empty at various points when we attempted to get them. It seemed like every time food was refilled, it would be emptied again before we could get to it because such small portions were being brought out. The a la carte items also took incredibly long to be brought to us. We'd order sushi and wait 20 minutes or more to be brought 4 bites of sushi.
It also seems like the wares could use some sprucing up--we ordered the punch bowl to share and the ceramic bowl was chipped all over, and the cushioned benches of the booth where we sat were all flattened and stained. Between all of this and a large party being super loud and sitting next to a heater, it was a pretty bad experience. I don't think I'll return for the brunch buffet any time soon, which is unfortunate because FFB was my favorite brunch spot to bring friends & family for brunch.
I love the restaurant and the food. Unfortunately I was not told it was a Brunch only day, being a Holiday. I drove from northern MD to meet a group of friends for a quick lunch and was surprised we couldn’t order from the menu, I had already ordered deinks and couldn’t go somewhere else. Two people on my table did not have time for the brunch, considering it was a $35 meal and only an hour lunch break, they decided to just skip lunch.
The Presidents’ Day brunch was amazing! Always a great place to bring out of town guests. Food is great, service is great and the value for the price paid is hard to beat.
Terrible experience. Very sorry we spent precious time and money here.
Unbelievably loud (is that just the booths?) — we couldn’t hear each other and spent far too much.
My complaint about Farmers Fishers and its two sister restaurants in DC are that the menus are too broad and the food consequently is not consistently good. Everything on the menu is cooked just passably instead of a smaller offering being cooked at a gourmet level. Honestly anymore it is kind of like going to Applebee’s. The drinks are also over-priced and they have too broad of an array of signature cocktails that like the food are mediocre at best. The desserts though are great. But it has been disappointing over the past few years to see a decline in each restaurant’s quality (at least for the DC locations). I will be taking a long break from all three.
I don't understand the hype surrounding this place. Maybe it's the brunch that's amazing, but we went for dinner and it was nothing special at all. The food was incredibly greasy and not in a good way. The fried calamari appetizer for example was so greasy that the coating was slipping off of it if you barely touched it. Puffed maya corn tacos were dripping oil everywhere and did not taste that great - I did not finish them. The rest of my party was also disappointed with their meals. I was very unimpressed.
We used to love the Founding Farmers group of restaurants but lately there has been a decline in the quality of the food. It used to be that we always had a great meal at any of these restaurants regardless of what we ordered. Now, the food is simply ok. Not nearly as good as the price requires.
Food is fresh and well prepared. Delicious bread on a roasted vegi sandwich I had. Hubby had the mad pig jambalaya and it was excellent. Great wine selection and beer flights. Looks out to skating rink. We would return.
Some of the best food I’ve eaten in a long time
We made a reservation for 6, arrived 5 minutes ahead of schedule and was immediately seated during a very busy buffet time. We came for my daughter's birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. The food was OUTSTANDING and the service equally as much. Will definitely be returning.
The brunch is unreal. It’s so good. I’ve been twice now, both times with friends from out of town and they absolutely loved it. Food is amazing, service is great, the punch bowl drink was fantastic, and everyone who works there is so nice! Highly recommend.
I love their brunch. I brought some friends to experience it, but the service was not great. Our server hardly came over to check on us and drinks were slow to come. We had to constantly look for our server. I would recommend it, but warn on possible subpar service
This has been my favorite brunch spot since the first time I dinner here. I would come twice a month. I would always bring family members when they would come to the area to visit. The quality has gone down. On my last 3 visits the service was great but the food subpar for the price. The seafood jambalaya that they use to serve was 10x better than the jambalaya they serve now. The french was over cooked the last few times I tried it. The bacon had too much fat. The drinks were great but I come for the food. I have always enjoyed Farmers, Fishers, and Bakers because it is one of the few buffetts that serve quality food! The ambiance is always great and the staff is always friendly but the food is taking a turn in the wrong direction. I brought my friends here recently and it was not all that I had hyped it to be! I gave it one my try this weekend but I can’t say that I will be returning in the future.
This is such a great restaurant with AMAZING food. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the staff is all so kind and welcoming. Will be a staple location anytime I am in DC!
This has been one of my favorite brunch spots for years. I actually prefer Farmers Fishers Bakers out of the other sister restaurants. The food and service is consistently good.
The food and atmosphere were perfect. The service was less than impressive. The server brought us drinks but then never returned. When she took our plates she didn’t say anything. It took another 10 mins to get her to come back so we could ask for the check. At this point I went to find the manager.
I went for the food, and I will recommend anyone to go for the food. The service , however, is not the most satisfactory. The waitress is completely fine, but the restaurant itself is so crowded that we had to wait for 15 minutes past our reservation. When we sat down the table wasn't even cleaned, we weren't given utensils until we asked for them. The food is slow as well.
Meh. Very meh. A very long delay to be seated for my reservation, excellent food.
We waited over 30 minutes even with a reservation
Basketball team dinner well taken care of
My service was bad and the glasses for water were dirty. Me and my girlfriend went through at least 10 cups before finally getting two clean cups.
After a little bit of a wait for our reservation time, we were sat by the very gracious and pleasant host and had a wonderful female server! I wish I could remember her name. Our food was fantastic and came out just as we ordered it, even with several last-minute modifications. We loved the crab dip, the kale salad, the mussels, the succotash, and the fantastic Key Lime Pie. Everything was legit! I have to say the cocktails, while delicious, were priced a tad high. If they were say, 12 bucks, instead of 14 or 15, I think they would sell even more. Will definitely recommend and be back! Yay!
The food was delicious, well priced and the service was quick and friendly
We had an amazing time. The food was delicious - we had a sushi roll and butternut squash soup for appetizers. A jambalaya bowl and the butcher cut steak for our main course. The steak was slightly over cooked - but Still amazing. The downsides: it was very loud and the drinks were overpriced. Great service, we took our time and never felt rushed.
Really enjoyed the restaurant, the atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly. I will say the food was good but not spectacular and the menu had a WIDE variety of options, which can be good and bad. Cocktails were tasty, albeit a bit diluted at times.
We had to wait for several buffet items to be replenished, and it seems like there were less items compared to previous times I’ve been there. The service was great but the noise level, especially from the larger group tables, makes it hard to have a normal conversation.
Went there for brunch...love the food and the ambiance. Overall very good spot!
Valentine’s weekend
I ate brunch here...Amazing food prepared fresh daily. I have a hard time puck in ng a favorite dish because everything was delicious. Even the coffee was exceptional.
Good earthy food not over seasoned...
