I really was looking forward to a wonderful time at this beautiful restaurant. The brunch menu online seemed to be a great variety for the 10ppl in our party. Once we were at the restaurant I was underwhelmed. We had 1:30pm reservations we were seated promptly. What killed everything was the cold food and most of what was on the menu was not available. I asked before making the reservation would a variety still be available since they only had reservations for the afternoon. I was assured yes all items on the brunch menu would be available by the gentleman that took the reservation. The restaurant was very nice but for the price of brunch and for the items that were left to be cold. It was just not good. I never ever post reviews but I was totally disappointed.

I came here to order a meal not do the brunch and was forced into paying $32 for a brunch/meal I did not choose. I feel ripped off - if the food was good maybe I would’ve felt better but it was terrible. I will not be coming back after this. Also learned if we waited an hour later I could’ve order...wish I would’ve know that. The waiter was terrible as well- had to run around the place to get knife and later a fork after they took it away when I went to look at other options at the brunch area. I would like my money back to be honest. Rip off!

We arrived at the restaurant right at our reservation time. However, we were told that the table would not be ready for some time. The host asked us to sit down on the bench behind the host station rather than suggesting we have seat at the bar. That was just plain oversight or not caring about his patrons as we are experienced enough to know that reservations run late. What a way to increase the margins by having us partake in the product with the highest profit margin they sell???

Once we were finally seated, the wait staff was less than helpful. Didn’t bring water, wasn’t friendly, didn’t ask us if we wanted dessert, and brought the check before we were finished eating.

As for the food, we had mixed opinions. The cauliflower steak was very good as were the pimento biscuits. However, the pizza was at best on the level with a microwave or out of the box pizza.

Save yourself time and frustration and find another restaurant. This was farm to table to trash can for us.

We enjoyed our dinner. The waitstaff seemed a little overwhelmed and confused. Our waitress was helpful, and we appreciated her input. The food was fresh and good.

I was very disappointed in FFB. I have been to Founding Farmers several times and always had a nice experience so I had high hopes. The service was lackluster and the food was very boring. The menu would read differently but trust me it is not great. I will say, the cocktails and sushi were delicious but everything else ruined the entire dining experience.

The waiter did not know about restaurant week and was not knowledgeable about what was included and how it worked. He did not know one of the appetizers listed was not part of restaurant week and had to ask someone else. He didn't take our entree order until after we finished eating our appetizer so we had a long wait in between. In addition, when the bill came he charged us the wrong amount and even charged us additional for dessert when we had declined dessert in the first place. The overall experience was very disappointing. I will not be returning any time soon.

It was a very disappointing dining experience. The restaurant looked as though it needed a thorough cleaning from the entrance to the buffet stations. In general, the food was bland. The passed dishes were only offered twice in 2.5 hours. The variety and presentation of food left a lot to be desired. The fruit was limited to pineapple and grapefruit Considering the name of the restaurant, there were very few fish options. We didn’t find out about the eggs benedict until we overheard another waiter informing the guests at his table. By that time, we had finished our meal. I would not return. If you’re looking for brunch at one of the restaurants in this group, choose Farmers and Distillers instead.

It was my first time there and I was amazed at the quality of the food. So many options to choose from but not enough stomach for it all. Julia at the bar was a rockstar, she provided great service, and definitely made the experience much more memorable.

Have eaten at Founding Farmers many times- had heard about this restaurant from the same group and decided to try. I had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table, the food was bland, and the service so-so. For context, I travel about 250 days a year, so see a range of restaurants. I would not return to this one again.

Great for breakfast/brunch. Loved the mushroom, spinach egg scramble. This place and its sister restaurant Founding Famers are pretty well known in DC. Can’t go wrong with a visit to either location.

we complained that the seared tuna was cold and the manager try to convince us that seared is equivalent to cold because it’s on the skillet for a short time. The seating for a party of 6 is terrible because the seat moves every time someone seats at the next booth.
The only thing good was our server.

Went here for a Saturday brunch for 2. Made reservations and was seated immediately upon arrival. Julio, our waiter did a great job explaining the brunch menu and drink options. Food was seasoned, tasty and good. Buffet was constantly re-stocked with fresh items. Would definitely recommend

I did not enjoy my experience at this restaurant. The menu that my friends and I viewed for brunch prior to going was not accurate. There were less items featured for brunch than what was advertised on their website. The food was not very tasty.
and we were told that someone would be walking around with additional items. However, we had to request multiple times for those items to be brought over to our table. By the time the staff came, we were ready to leave. I only enjoyed the one piece of french toast I ate which was not worth the $50 I spent for brunch and a drink. I know I will not be returning to this restaurant again.

Crab & Shrimp Louie salad was good. The New England Clam Chowder was mediocre -- it tasted mostly like onions & leeks.
The tuna was good. I get the tuna pretty much every time I'm at FFB. I generally sub extra brussels sprouts for the bean salad. While the tuna always seems to be good quality, the temperature is NEVER CONSISTENT. I got it twice this week -- once it was warm out of the pan, and once it was cold as if it had been chilled. I do not like the new lemon sauce you've added to it. But I can always order without that.
Kai was an EXCELLENT server!!

We have been to Farmers Fishers Bakers many times throughout our 5 years living in the city- the food has always been delicious, haven't had a bad dish. This review is purely about the service. The food was 5 star as it has been in the past. The service however was very disappointing when we went this past Sunday night. We sat and were greeted right away and picked an appetizer. It was the crab artichoke dip- delicious per usual- it just took about 20 minutes. While waiting, we put our dinner orders in, and we were still eating the crab dip when our dinner arrived. Only two out of the three entrees arrived as something had happened to the third during the running of the food to the table and we were told the third entree would be out shortly. They left the two entrees on the table, however, we did not start eating until the third entree arrived- about 8-10 minutes later and by that time our food was cold. Two managers stopped by apologizing and asking what they could do- we ordered a round of drinks and those did not arrive until we were finishing up our entrees. Lastly, they did comp the third entree, however when we went to pay- asked to split the check- it took over 10 minutes to get our credit cards back from the payment and was delivered by a different server. Again, the food was delicious per usual. We felt strongly that the service was very much lacking during this visit unfortunately.

Hi LaurenH: I am so sorry for the mishaps in service during this visit! I feel badly the 3rd entree had to be re-made and this caused the other 2 plates to become cold. I also apologize the drinks were slow to be delivered and the payments took over 10mins to process. :( We do appreciate your patience with our team and really hope to have you & your guests back for another try! I will send you a DM with my contact info to hopefully stay in touch for your return. -Amy

Service was great, plenty of space for dining and we were seated quickly. Unfortunately our dishes were overly salty and heavy. Maybe just out tastes but I was a bit disappointed. One person at the table got the scallops and loved them, by far that was the best dish.

It was my daughters 18th birthday brunch. I wrote that on the reservation and also called the restaurant the day before the brunch. Nothing was done for birthday. No recognition at all. They had a chance to make the occasion memorable for her and her 7 friends with just a “Happy Birthday” or a token dessert with a candle (they could have taken a dessert from the all you can eat buffet at zero cost to them) and sang or something.
The food was fine but nothing to write home about.
Overall I wish we had chosen a different place.

It was great! We went on a Sunday morning and I’m so thankful they do reservations. It just makes it run so smooth. It wasn’t busy. Very comfortable and quaint. There was no huge “buffet” type feeling at all. Small dishes but plenty of food. No wait. It was overall a great experience! Will definitely come again.
The only small down was not everything was labeled and if it was labeled a few labels were actually in the wrong spot. So if you weren’t familiar with some of the dishes it was a bit confusing. Anyway amazing time!
