Farmers Fishers Bakers
The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.
Long wait with reservation, seems like a zoo in the restaurant, awful service, overpriced drinks, and barely edible mussels.
The concept of the restaurant is great. The menu offers something for everyone and all of the food was fantastic. The bar menu offered a lot of interesting choices as well. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Service was quick, server was friendly and attentive.
Awesome dinner for large group including several kids. Something for everyone on this menu and all delicious. A bit touristy area but very nice on the water and just a block down the hill from Main Street of Georgetown area makes ur a great destination.
We have been to this restaurant several times and loved it. This last visit was very disappointing. The food was awful and the restaurant seemed dirty and smelled. Sushi was spoiled and pizza was soggy. Not sure we will ever go back.
I loved this restaurant in the past but our last experience has left us with much to be desired. We invited some friends after bragging about the place but they were unimpressed. We ordered 2 appetizers- one never came and one came with our dinner. My husband ordered steak and loaded baked potatoes- instead got plain baked potatoes. The shrimp in our cioppinos were tough and over cooked. Our waiter was new and couldn’t answer any questions. Very poor service
One of the best weekend brunch buffets in DC! The food is fresh, flavorful and abundant! The passed items and made to order eggs are an extra treat. The mixed drink menu is deep and delicious. The deep-fried french toast is absolutely divine as is the thick cut bacon! Reservations are highly recommended.
Great place with excellent food and service! Nice for a special day.
Not enough selection but, great price. They do not circulate pizza, shrimp, sushi enough. Server seemed to have way too many tables to attend to
The restaurant accommodated ne pushing back my reservation with no issue. When I arrived it was sort of cold in the restaurant and the hostess had no problem thinking of a warmer area for us to be seated. Our server, was very attentive and informative. Thank you!
We had to wait 25 minutes despite reservation. Ambiance was greatly overshadowed by a fire alarm malfunction that kept going off. Not the greatest night there!
We have been to this restaurant a few times. But the recent visit was very poor. They sat us down very late even though we had a reservation, the food was late, the service was poor and slow. The orders were brought to the table incomplete. Some of the food was cold. It really deflated our evening.
Food was horrible and overpriced.
I am alway excited not come back to FFB because I love the ambiance, creative menu and service
I was disappointed this time . It was very busy Saturday nite, so allowing for that , I could
Make lots of excuses. But our service was lousy and the food was sub par from my previous 12-14 visits.
Our server though efficient, not friendly, in familiar with the menu and essentially pouted when we had to have our drinks remade. The Brussels sprout salad lack the amazing flavor from before Pizzas were generous and flavorful but cold when they were delivered. What happened to the French press coffee?
I am honestly gonna think twice about coming back
I have been to the sister restaurants and they are very good. We had significant service issues and the food was average. We had a reservation, had to wait 40 minutes anyway. Then, we had to wait very long to get drinks, order, well, essentially everything. It took almost 3 hours to eat that night. Ridiculous. Not worth the wait at all.
We arrived with a reservation & were made to wait in a crowded, not very accommodating receiving area. After waiting 15-20 minutes, we were shown to a cramped table for two along the back wall between two large groups with cute but loud children.
My husband & I ordered drinks, he an appetizer of clam chowder, & both ordered entrees. His soup arrived before his beer. He ordered the fish special which pretty good. I ordered the Brussels sprout butternut squash pizza. It came out dry, Luke warm at best, with no sign of butternut squash & at least three inches around the outside of just crust, no topping at all. After I complained, the manager came by & brought some cold butternut squash purée which he adamantly insisted was on the pizza as a base. I certainly couldn’t see or taste it. But it’s just as well, the purée had an odd metallic taste anyway.
This was our second visit to this establishment. The first, for brunch, was good. After this visit, there will not likely be a third.
It’s always a great experience to visit this place. From the food to the friendly staff, everything was excellent.
The brunch buffet on the weekends is fantastic. So many great foods! One thing to note: if you're making reservations for Sat or Sun AM - Open table allows you to make them for 8:45 AM - but they don't really open until 9:00 AM. This was a bit awkward for them and us. Our waiter was good - but I will say he didn't make everything super clear about the buffet versus what's available to order from the menu. We overheard him telling other customers about things he had not told us....so that was odd. But - the brunch was amazing! And we would go back in a heart beat...just no earlier than 9:00 AM :)
Such a petty, great food with extremely poor service. Will not return and won’t recommend. Particularly surprised because we have been at the bar many times before, great food and drinks served by awesome bartenders every time so we decided to try the dining experience. I wish we didn’t. Arrived 5 minutes early for a reservation - we celebrated my friend’s birthday. We were seated promptly at 8.30 in a very busy environment but with tables open.
We weren’t acknowledged for a good 15 minutes at the table after seated. Everyone was running around looking very busy - all waiters, bussers and hostesses. No water was given, nobody even cared we were there. Kept getting passed by with no eye contact. So the birthday celebration already started out on a very poor note. Finally I asked a hostess if we have a waiter at all - that’s when I guess someone was assigned to us.
She seemed very rushed once she greeted us. Placed drink orders with appetizers. For our surprise the food got served in 5 minutes, WAY before our drinks were served. Not sure what the method behind this was. Bar wasn’t even packed. So we ate our apps before we even gave a toast. By this time we agreed that this was a very bad decision to come here. Main meals came out ok, green beans were stone cold with the salmon, I think they served the sides on the plates before fired up the salmon. After this we didn’t even think of dessert, we were just ready to get out of there.
Overall experience was very poor. Will not return to main dining, only to hang at the bar.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great seafood along with other choices on the menu.
Overall a good restraint. Waitstaff was a tad rude when they had our reservation wrong and had to accommodate. Menu was well laid-out, but vague. It didn’t list all aspects of what was on the dish, which can be an issue for some. The calamari was okay, but kind of chewy and lukewarm. The chicken wings were delicious. Crab cake sandwich fell apart, but the spicy fried chicken jambalaya was absolutely amazing. Would recommend that dish.
All the food I've had at Farmers Fishers Bakers has been fresh, high quality and perfectly prepared. The menu changes regularly. The entrees and sides are creative and the desserts are fantastic. The prices are much lower than you might expect given the quality of food.
Great food, service and atmosphere!
I actually love this place and the food is great. All seafood dishes never disappoint but the calamari crab cakes and the mussels the last two times I brought friends over usually were a hit! The only problem with this place is the service (can be slow) and in our case they forgot to assign our table of 9 a server! They came and apologized but they really need to do something about the service as the place is huge!
Very pleasant and enjoyed the creative entrees and ambiance . The view was great .
Brought my family here for the first time. I had been before but they had not. We had a very long wait for cold food. This was embarrassing to say the least. Do not recommend.
We had a party of 4. The appetizers were great and everyone enjoyed their entree. Unfortunately, my fried chicken was raw. That is what prevents me from giving a better score. The server and manager were fantastic. There was a problem getting our appetizers out timely, again they comped our appetizer. Not sure if this is normal or not.
Very accommodating to our party. Food came out quickly. Everything looked wonderful and tasted equally as good. The only down side was it was very loud in the restaurant.
This place always gets it right. The entire chain is superb!
Our server was fantastic, but we had to wait an hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive, which is unacceptable in my opinion...especially since we had a reservation. The ambience was fantastic.
Great food, with a great mission. This was my second visit. I'll be back when in town.
All of the staff that I interacted with (hostess, server, runner) were warm, friendly and attentive sot it pains me to leave an average review. Delivery of my cocktail and meal took waaaaaay too long. I think my cocktail arrived 15-20 min after I ordered it and then my meal took at least 30+ minutes to arrive. I think the kitchen was having a bad day because everybody's food on the patio arrived super late and since it was lunch we all mainly ordered salads and basic sandwiches. That stuff shouldn't take that long to deliver.
It was the first day of the new menu, so there were a few hiccups (food not coming out of the kitchen in order) but overall it was very good and the service was very good, and the waitress and the manager kept coming by to explain what was happening.
Service was very slow. They said “it’s because of outside” which I’m not sure what that means... like you didn’t know it was going to be nice out? We waited 35 minutes for our food and then had to take most of it to go.
We enjoyed this restaurant very much, although it was frenetic and noisy on a Sunday evening. We waited for about 15 minutes even with a reservation, and service was a little uneven (although very friendly). The restaurants' marketing plays up local and farmer-oriented ingredients, but the menu is kind of standard and makes huge swings from"farmers sushi" (?) to tacos to mussel pots and burgers. Everything we tried was tasty, however, so they're not overstretched. A highlight were the salads, and a surprise were the fabulous $1 glazed doughnuts offered for dessert.
Four of us had a fun dinner there on Sunday night. The check-in was a little slow, but service was good thereafter. The restaurant was bustling and loud - we had a booth near the bar, even at 6 pm, but we were able to talk. The food is reasonably priced for the Georgetown Harbour restaurants and the food is good. We enjoyed the great choice of craft beer. Overall, great place to meet my cousins in town from NYC. I'd return.
The hostess forgot to print out a ticket for our reservation so we waited 20 mins to finally be seated. Eventhough I asked 4 times in that 20 mins for an update, they kept saying you will be seated shortly. The food was good but the service was very slow. It was very crowded but the server was having a hard time to manage all the tables in a timely manner.
Farmers has been a favorite of mine for a while and I usually bring friends and family here when in town but it doesn't have the same shine as it once did. The food was mediocre and while our server Ahmed was knowledgable, accommodating and attentive we were there for 2 hours due to confusion as to who our actual server was. We were sat at 3:50 but our appetizer of pretzel sticks did not come out until 4:20 and then our meals did not come until another 45 minutes after that! This restaurant is always busy and definitely requires a reservation. Busy is just part of the farmers brand but after 10 visits I think its time for a new place. To brave sitting in 30 minutes of Georgetown traffic and then have mediocre food is just not desirable. Thanks for the memories Farmers but time for something new!
So good. We tried the sushi this time and were so pleasantly surprised! Also ordered a mojito and couldn't get enough! I love bringing people here when they are visiting D.C.
Service was very poor. Never came and asked us if we needed more to drink or if we needed anything else. She did not deliver the food, a server did, and you can’t complain to a Mexican server; he doesn’t understand the language. We will not return, we thought it was a farm to table restaurant and service would be fabulous as well as the food. Very disappointing!
