Farmers Fishers Bakers
The restaurant is upscale casual, which welcomes business casual dress, and dress that would be appropriate in a nice restaurant; this includes jeans and athletic wear, and warm-weather clothing, including shorts.
I came here to order a meal not do the brunch and was forced into paying $32 for a brunch/meal I did not choose. I feel ripped off - if the food was good maybe I would’ve felt better but it was terrible. I will not be coming back after this. Also learned if we waited an hour later I could’ve order...wish I would’ve know that. The waiter was terrible as well- had to run around the place to get knife and later a fork after they took it away when I went to look at other options at the brunch area. I would like my money back to be honest. Rip off!
Was good, wait staff was nice but messed up order and left the table for quite a while, had to wait to order second drink until end of meal.
The brunch buffet is delicious and full of vegetarian options.
It was a very disappointing dining experience. The restaurant looked as though it needed a thorough cleaning from the entrance to the buffet stations. In general, the food was bland. The passed dishes were only offered twice in 2.5 hours. The variety and presentation of food left a lot to be desired. The fruit was limited to pineapple and grapefruit Considering the name of the restaurant, there were very few fish options. We didn’t find out about the eggs benedict until we overheard another waiter informing the guests at his table. By that time, we had finished our meal. I would not return. If you’re looking for brunch at one of the restaurants in this group, choose Farmers and Distillers instead.
It was my first time there and I was amazed at the quality of the food. So many options to choose from but not enough stomach for it all. Julia at the bar was a rockstar, she provided great service, and definitely made the experience much more memorable.
Have eaten at Founding Farmers many times- had heard about this restaurant from the same group and decided to try. I had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table, the food was bland, and the service so-so. For context, I travel about 250 days a year, so see a range of restaurants. I would not return to this one again.
Waiter was great along with the food. Friend recommended and it was very good.
We had brunch on a snowy Saturday morning and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Server was very attentive and did an excellent job.
We were so excited about this place, but the food did disappoint unfortunately. We went for restaurant week and the food was pretty average. Service was fast and efficient though!
Very nice atmosphere and great food - ideal for families, too.
Great for breakfast/brunch. Loved the mushroom, spinach egg scramble. This place and its sister restaurant Founding Famers are pretty well known in DC. Can’t go wrong with a visit to either location.
I felt like the food was overrated and overpriced. I was pretty underwhelmed.
Hi ArielleP: I am so sorry to read the food left you underwhelmed this time. :( I would love the chance to know what was ordered and why you were so disappointed by what was served. That said, I will send you a personal note with my email address to hopefully connect over these details and turn around your lasting impression. -Amy
Great restaurant. Reservations suggested. Good place to walk around and take in the harbor sites. Food was great. Additional seating outdoors if weather permits.
Great service and food! We came for restaurant week and it was so worth it.
Food was good, location was great. Wait staff offered special menu items after we finished our first plate rather than telling us about the special at the beginning of the meal. Wait staff was attentive and coffee was very good
Very slow and unreliable service detracted from the overall experience.
we complained that the seared tuna was cold and the manager try to convince us that seared is equivalent to cold because it’s on the skillet for a short time. The seating for a party of 6 is terrible because the seat moves every time someone seats at the next booth.
The only thing good was our server.
Went here for a Saturday brunch for 2. Made reservations and was seated immediately upon arrival. Julio, our waiter did a great job explaining the brunch menu and drink options. Food was seasoned, tasty and good. Buffet was constantly re-stocked with fresh items. Would definitely recommend
Too many food items at the buffet were empty. The buffet items brought to tables by the wait staff were few and far between. Price is too high for value and quality delivered.
I did not enjoy my experience at this restaurant. The menu that my friends and I viewed for brunch prior to going was not accurate. There were less items featured for brunch than what was advertised on their website. The food was not very tasty.
and we were told that someone would be walking around with additional items. However, we had to request multiple times for those items to be brought over to our table. By the time the staff came, we were ready to leave. I only enjoyed the one piece of french toast I ate which was not worth the $50 I spent for brunch and a drink. I know I will not be returning to this restaurant again.
Hi Chris: I am so sorry for the disappointing brunch experience you had with us. :( I am equally let down the food missed the mark and service with our passed items was lacking. With this acknowledged, I would love to touch base & hopefully turn around the poor impression you left with. That said, I will send you a DM with my contact info. -Amy
Great place for brunch. The food selection is awesome and delicious. Great table and bar service too.
Hi tlrichards19: Thank you so much! We appreciate your kind review and hope to have you back again soon. :) -Amy
Best weekend brunch in the DMV, period! Best ingredients, freshest food, great value for the family.
Hi CandSvacationers: We are real happy to read you enjoyed your brunch visit! Thank you for sharing your awesome review with us and we hope to have you back again soon. -Amy
The menu is interesting and diverse, and our food was good. Unfortunately the poor service ruined our dining experience.
Hi Zesty: Thank you for your review and I am so so sorry to read service was the culprit to the enjoyment of your overall experience. :( I would love the chance to follow up and learn the details of what happened- that said, I will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
Would like more whole food plant-based options on the menu to accommodate all dietary restrictions. Otherwise a nice experience. Server was knowledgeable of the menu and ingredients.
Crab & Shrimp Louie salad was good. The New England Clam Chowder was mediocre -- it tasted mostly like onions & leeks.
The tuna was good. I get the tuna pretty much every time I'm at FFB. I generally sub extra brussels sprouts for the bean salad. While the tuna always seems to be good quality, the temperature is NEVER CONSISTENT. I got it twice this week -- once it was warm out of the pan, and once it was cold as if it had been chilled. I do not like the new lemon sauce you've added to it. But I can always order without that.
Kai was an EXCELLENT server!!
My experience at this location was delightful. I work at Founding farmers in DC and every location I’ve been to has been wonderful. Great service, awesome food, and a drink selection that is up to par.
We have been to Farmers Fishers Bakers many times throughout our 5 years living in the city- the food has always been delicious, haven't had a bad dish. This review is purely about the service. The food was 5 star as it has been in the past. The service however was very disappointing when we went this past Sunday night. We sat and were greeted right away and picked an appetizer. It was the crab artichoke dip- delicious per usual- it just took about 20 minutes. While waiting, we put our dinner orders in, and we were still eating the crab dip when our dinner arrived. Only two out of the three entrees arrived as something had happened to the third during the running of the food to the table and we were told the third entree would be out shortly. They left the two entrees on the table, however, we did not start eating until the third entree arrived- about 8-10 minutes later and by that time our food was cold. Two managers stopped by apologizing and asking what they could do- we ordered a round of drinks and those did not arrive until we were finishing up our entrees. Lastly, they did comp the third entree, however when we went to pay- asked to split the check- it took over 10 minutes to get our credit cards back from the payment and was delivered by a different server. Again, the food was delicious per usual. We felt strongly that the service was very much lacking during this visit unfortunately.
Hi LaurenH: I am so sorry for the mishaps in service during this visit! I feel badly the 3rd entree had to be re-made and this caused the other 2 plates to become cold. I also apologize the drinks were slow to be delivered and the payments took over 10mins to process. :( We do appreciate your patience with our team and really hope to have you & your guests back for another try! I will send you a DM with my contact info to hopefully stay in touch for your return. -Amy
Service was great, plenty of space for dining and we were seated quickly. Unfortunately our dishes were overly salty and heavy. Maybe just out tastes but I was a bit disappointed. One person at the table got the scallops and loved them, by far that was the best dish.
I enjoyed my meal but the mussels were slightly over cooked. Also wish the beer menu included IBUs for the IPA's.
It was my daughters 18th birthday brunch. I wrote that on the reservation and also called the restaurant the day before the brunch. Nothing was done for birthday. No recognition at all. They had a chance to make the occasion memorable for her and her 7 friends with just a “Happy Birthday” or a token dessert with a candle (they could have taken a dessert from the all you can eat buffet at zero cost to them) and sang or something.
The food was fine but nothing to write home about.
Overall I wish we had chosen a different place.
The Sunday brunch was absolutely delicious with amazing choices for both breakfast and lunch.
It was great! We went on a Sunday morning and I’m so thankful they do reservations. It just makes it run so smooth. It wasn’t busy. Very comfortable and quaint. There was no huge “buffet” type feeling at all. Small dishes but plenty of food. No wait. It was overall a great experience! Will definitely come again.
The only small down was not everything was labeled and if it was labeled a few labels were actually in the wrong spot. So if you weren’t familiar with some of the dishes it was a bit confusing. Anyway amazing time!
Great food and experience!! Loved the atmosphere and definitely an affordable price!
Service by Melissa was exceptional. We were 26 minutes late for our reservations due to traffic. The wait was going to be 45 minutes but Melissa came to our rescue. She seated us within minutes. After that, the service was downhill. There were two servicer that acted like it was there first day. They were not responsive or very attentive. They must forgot that a tip was involved. But Christian's dessert medley was fantastic. There were 10 different desserts. So glad we did not have to choose. Excluding the service we received, it would be a five star review.
No longer serving cinnamon rolls and sushi table side. The rice dishes were cold. And it took forever to get more coffee.
Hi GretN: Thank you for your feedback and I am so sorry the changes to our buffet brunch was a let down, as well as the cold rice dishes served. I also apologize the coffee took sometime to be refilled, and we greatly appreciate your review- letting us know the details of your disappointment. :( That said, I'd love to touch base and will send you a DM with my contact info. -Amy
Brunch was amazing. It took a while for certain items to get replenished...same food item was burnt.. Other than that thumbs up.
Horrible service. Never brought condiments. Was ignored half hour.
Great place, good drinks, average food (overcooked) and management under staffed the servers. Our waiter must have had 10 tables but he did great.
Pretzel appetizer is delicious! Calamari was okay. Salmon dinner and shrimp scampi was good. Branzino special was good. Fish and chips were underwhelming. Fun atmosphere and great waterfront location in Georgetown.
Specialty drinks were fun. Wine list ok but nothing great.
