For 165 years, the Farmers Arms Hotel has been a gathering place for Daylesford locals and travellers alike. Nowadays, it has evolved into one of the biggest supporters of local producers, showcasing wild and farmed ingredients from around Daylesford and the best of the region. This is the second time we have dined here and we absolutely love it! It is a true gem of an offering in Dalesford. One thing that was a standout, was the exceptional customer service which was incredibly warm, inviting, attentive, with a ‘can do’ attitude. Our waitress, Christina went above and beyond, including helping us surprise our friends for their birthday with desert, candles and a very enthusiastic singing of happy birthday which the whole Restaurant joined in for. The food is always great quality and I love the atmosphere of the place. This will be a place we return to every time we come to Dalesford!

I really wanted to like our experience at Farmers arms having been a repeat customer spanning decades. I’m sure the management are lovely people. It used to be so great! It looks like they’ve recently renovated and crammed in double as many tables. Our server was overly friendly and annoying , inserting herself into our conversations at every opportunity and making us feel awkward. The 8.5% Saturday tax felt like a bit of overreach. We would have preferred to leave a tip than be forced to pay an arbitrary fee for dining in the restaurant.

We have enjoyed going to the Farmers Arms over many years and still consider it a "Must do" when we stay in Daylesford. Keep up the good work.

This place is a wonderful experience everytime! The food, drinks and service are all superb and the value is excellent. Would recommend to any foodie friends visiting the area.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Farmers Arms Daylesford! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was spot on. The steak was mouthwatering — perfectly cooked and full of flavour. And don’t even get me started on the cocktails… chef’s kiss! 🍸 Every sip was a delight. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Succulent food & delicious local Pinot Noir created a great night with friends. Open fire & AFL in the front bar topped off a great night. Elle was very professional, personable & accomodating in catering for my dietary requirements.

We have been to Farmers Arms for many years and previously always enjoyed the ambiance and food. Our last visit was exactly one year ago and we really enjoyed it as we had previously. This time we were very underwhelmed. Firstly we sat in the cocktail bar where the fire was going however we moved to the main dining room as it was too cold. We thought the menu was quite limited now and very disappointing compared to previous visits. We had gruyere cheese croquettes to start which were good however the venison pie was very disappointing and the fish and chips didnt have much flavour and bulked up by cheap chips. We flagged the waitress as she walked past and she said she would be back shortly however after she was gone for what seemed like 10 minutes chatting to another customer we caught someone else who had been behind the bar attention to order a glass of wine. Disappointingly we wont be back to previously somewhere we loved to come

Staff were pleasant, food quite bland, tasteless and really basic, eg. Gummy shark with chips, small cos lettuce with a bland dressing. Value quite expensive.

Booked a table for 2 for my partners birthday. Arrived & enjoyed a beverage at the front bar. The ambience was really inviting & friendly not to mention the beautiful bar. The barman was very professional, courteous & patient. He also added our drinks to our restaurant bill. Great variety of beers (including hand pumped which my partner loves, though he said they were too cold for hand pumped) & wines (for myself as I don’t drink beer). We sat at the front bar & enjoyed our drink then we were taken through to the restaurant to our table. I struggle with noise (I know, why would I expose myself to this if I can’t do noise!!! Because it was my partners birthday & he loves Farmers Arms so I put my big girl pants on & stepped right in). At a table near ours was a groups of women who were enjoying their time together & voicing their glee (great for them not so great for me). I politely asked the wait staff if we could move to a quieter area & were accommodated quickly & without question or fuss. Thank you. It allowed me (us) to enjoy my (our) evening & not wreck the ambiance for me (us) or the women. We shared a slow cooked lamb shoulder dish with cabbage for 2 which was on the specials for the night & a side of pumpkin & sage (delicious). The food did not disappoint & was exceptionally tasty. We finished off with a cheese board which was also delicious. We’ll be back again. Thank you.
