Some of the best meals I have had in the past several years have been at this restaurant. There is always something unique and delicious on the menu...in the past: arrowroot crackers with pepita seeds, the most amazing pasta in broth ever and on this visit the celeriac tahini dip that I would order repeatedly.
I love this eatery and always look forward to introducing it to my friends.
Great wine list, well executed food and passionate service. Loved every second of it!
Very good food and creative food. Nice and modern ambiance.
Really really lovely restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly, the food and wine are excellent. The menu is unique and I wasn't prepared to enjoy the evening as much as I did, but it was fantastic.
Great food. Great service. Cute little restaurant. We ordered the family style dinner, where they choose what they serve you. I have to say, out of the 7 or 8 dishes that came out, not a single one was something I would have chosen to order but they were all amazing. This place is great and I would recommend it to anybody.
The food was good, but the price was way too much for the amount of food we got and the quality. I enjoyed it but I’m not sure I’d go back. I liked the feature cocktail it was delicious!
The food was excellent. The flavours are exceptionally crafted, drink menu thoughtfully chosen... Definitely one of our favourite spots for a celebratory dinner. Thank you!
Flavourful locally-sourced restaurant. Seasonal ingredients. Very interesting wine list (haven't seen a lot of orange wine around).
Great dinner!
such a great place to be and thanks for the kitchen and service team, well done again.
a little under for the smoke when we left the restaurant our clothe smell a lot the kitchen but i still gonna come back. looking forward for our next visit
Absolutely delicious food and great wine. Fantastic service. We would go back!
We did the family dining experience and the food was delicious. Per person it is a bit pricey but we were completely full.
I would say the only disappointing thing was the wine selection. A few things with that. If you are going to charge $15 for a glass it should be bigger than a 4 or 5oz pour. Also, given the price the selection was not very good or at least what I like. Missing a crisp sauvionon blanc, a lovely southern b.c. Meritage or a hearty cab sauv. The name Farmers Apprentice suggests farm to table and I would include wine in that. So a better selection of BC wines by the glass would be a good idea. I understand though why they have the wines they do. Bill $275 for two people with 1 cocktail each and 1.5 glasses of wine each. A tad too high for the experience.
Excellent as always! Fantastic innovative food and great service!
I had not been here for several years as my last experience with the service was very bad but I thought I would give it another try. My friend and I ordered 5 small plates to share and one entree - Ling Cod. The 5 plates were very good and our server was very friendly, than came the ling cod. When it arrived, my friend cut half and put it in her plate and the other half remained in the serving plate. The fish was under cooked. It would not flake and one needed a knife to cut it. We asked the server to please cook it for another minute or two. She took both plates but came back with only one, when we asked where the second plate was - she looked baffled. She left and came back and I quote " the chef said this is the way we always cook it and if they want another one they need to pay for it" The problem was we did not want another one we just wanted our initial fish cooked a minute longer. So not only did we get attitude from the chef we ended up paying for a fish we never got as my friends half never came back.
I definitely would never go back to this restaurant again, I thought the attitude they had several years ago would be gone but it is still there with absolutely no service
We tried the chef's tasting menu and every dish was so thoughtfully and beautifully prepared and presented. Flavours were terrific. The ambiance is intimate and warm and the service was perfect. A wonderful little gem just off South Granville. We will be back next time we are in Vancouver!
Good food, easy location, good service but expensive. Probably because it’s farm to table? Not sure.
Inventive (but not weird) food, based on locally sourced ingredients.
Food was lovely. Farm to table, organic ingredients. Great for sharing plates.
Only disappointing part and why I cannot rate this restaurant higher was the poor service. Our waiter was so unfriendly and quite frankly dismissive. He did not interact with us, didn’t smile (even though one wears a mask one can still see a person smile with their eyes:) and he brought down the entire fun evening we were having.
So aside from the waiter, food was great!
Service is the best in this city. Very personal and friendly. The food is good, not great, and portions are small for the price. The bottled cocktails are a delightful touch! Overall, a nice experience.
Amazing food, great service, COVID protocol enhanced.
Great spot, really nice interesting dishes, exemplary service
Like the food in general, but the portion need to be a little bit more to justify the price.
Fantastic little date spot hidden on a side street!
Innovative food with an emphasis on vegetables. We had three but they all looked good. There were two non-veg selections and we had them too. Ask if they have any special house XO sauce. We asked to buy some for home and they were nice enough to oblige. Great place! If you want to support local, consider them!
Setting and location was fantastic. $26 for a cheese board with barely a thumbs worth of cheese each was slightly disappointing. Lamb was incredible.
The ultimate special occasion restaurant in Vancouver. Wine list second to none, cocktails outstanding, service impeccable. Love this place!
Very tasty and a nice outside covered patio... It'd be nice during the fall with a heater out there.
Our server (man) was not very helpful and a bit rude to us.
Very enjoyable, super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food was very flavorful and the cauliflower is definetely a must.
The menu was unique and the food was delicious!
Highly recommend.
The menu is quite limited these days, as are the portions. I know it must be a struggle, but they won't survive as it is now, even though what food they have is high quality.
This was our first time dining here and had heard some great things about the restaurant. We went with the tasting menu, I will say that each and every dish was executed well, however, there was no flow between the dishes...one dish I'm eating kimchi, then a Tandoori like dish...the flavours were all over the place. What maybe would have helped all of the competing flavours was if they had changed out our plates.
I will say, the hangar steak was AMAZING!!! So tender and tasty.
The server knew answers to every question we had, and she made fantastic recommendations
The menu was legit, definitely on the pricey side but a really lovely experience
Great place to experience locally inspired cuisine. We enjoyed a great evening there.
The appetizers were amazing as usual. Tonight the pork was dry and tough... unexpected. The fish is as amazingly fresh but the combination tonight of king cod, chickpea mash and tamarind broth didn’t really do it for us. Individually the flavours and execution were great, but together.... hmmmmm...
amazing, as always - fresh, ambiance, clean food - our fav spot in Vancouver
Amazing food! Great service! I have been here 3 times and each time the food was unique and sourced locally as available but equally delicious each time. I would highly recommend! The chef is a genius.
They have done a good job of social distancing all the tables and they have 3 tables outside. A safe place to eat during COVID!
We love sitting on the little patio and sampling new ideas from this inventive kitchen. We can cook good meals at home - we come here for surprises and new combinations. This is a wonderful chef forward place. Love the wine list too! Thank you. Keep cool!
