Fantastic food! Such an eclectic menu. Did not expect to pair together chicken dumplings and an apple cider donut last night but my goodness everything was delicious! Would eat here again and recommend this to anyone looking for a trendy place in Chinatown with a biiig menu !
Amazing place - great service - great options for a large group. The donuts for desert were fantastic - highly recommend
AMAZING food and service. We loved dining here!!
Despite having a reservation via open table, had to wait ~30 mins past the reservation time for a table (this was around 8pm in a Sunday night) as they were very busy. Service was friendly and prompt except for drinks which took a long time to arrive. Bread (served with Cioppino) was very fresh and I would recommend the red Mac and cheese. Also had a bakery with fresh donuts - wee enjoyed the creme brûlée.
Food was incredible, service a little slow but was very busy so that’s understandable
Had a great time. Food was delish! We'll be back next time we're in DC.
What a great surprise. My friends and I happened to pick this place as it was in the vicinity of where we needed to be. The food was great! We had a great waitress and the place has plenty of seating, but it’s very popular so make reservations.
Brunch: French toast was hard, there was no bacon, baked chicken was tough and flavorless. OJ was $7 for a 7oz glass with no refills. I took my date for her birthday and she barley ate. Definitely would not go back.
We had a couples outting with just 6 of us, but although at 1st we were blown.about there not being any bacon, the other foods made us quickly forget. Also, the waitress service was amazing as well as those awesome "painkillers".
We were there for Sunday Brunch, which was packed. While seated I got a message from Open Table that I was a “no-Show”. Which I had to ask the manager to fix. On another note, what was the most disappointing was we were seated in the “ forgotten” section. We had a waiter that constantly apologize for the fact the passed items that were featured were never offered to us. The pass items are a feature of the brunch. While speaking to the manager, he simply said “we just run out before we get to your table”! Wait, what? The price is still the same.
As an Event manager in the city, planning several events through out the year, I can not plan for just the people in the front and center of the room. I would loose clients—- thus Farmers and Distillers will loose this patron diner. Can not recommend to clients, friends or visitors to the city I come in contact daily, who by the way ask me all the time for my picks. I hope they learn to do better—- DC is fickle, popular today and forgotten tomorrow.
The food and service was impeccable. Our server jean was attentive and made our evening memorable. The food was delicious and the ingredients were so fresh. The drinks were a little pricy but there was enough alcohol in them to make it worthwhile. The lemon glazed donut is a must!
Need to get more people at the Bar especially when distillers is in your name...waited over 1/2hr for every drink
Fantastic food, service and drink menu. Food was fresh and cooked to perfection.
Excellent service. Food was amazing! From start to finish, it was a spectacular dining experience. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for an excellent night out with family or a date!!!!
Cool place for Sunday Brunch. It does get packed to the point where it's uncomfortable to walk around without bumping into people. Good variety of food. Overall pleased with my visit.
First of all, everyone should already know that the price of cocktails at this place is hideously expensive. So if you go in already knowing this then you’re on your own, but if you don’t know that be aware the price of a cocktail is pretty much the price of an entrée. We went for brunch and while they do somehow manage ruthless efficiency you need to be a fat person to really enjoy the amount of food they have an offer for the price. The morning screwdriver that is listed as serving 2 to 4 people is really for two people or one even and costs $28. It’s a madhouse during brunch is all I can say.
Javier was an excellent waiter , liked the servers coming around with additional items. Everything we ate was very good. Even bought a bottle of the vodka.
Fantastic brunch. Everything we had was delicious.
Brunch was great but service was way off. No one came over for the first 10 minutes. Finally someone did but said it wasn’t their section so they’d check on whose it was. Then that same person came back and said well I guess it’s mine now. And no one really came back until we had to track someone down for the check.
Brunch is great. There is so much good food that you have to eat small portions(pace yourself) to get at least half of the dishes.
I want the initial contact of the waiter to be sooner.
I love this place and have been at least times! This particular evening (which was a Friday night) it seemed like there was some confusion in the kitchen and/or with seating. I had an 8:30pm reservation for 3 and arrived about 20 Minutes early. We had to wait until about 845pm to be seated, and our waitress was less than attentive. We had to wait 10-15 Minutes before our order was taken and we had to ask for our drinks to be served after we got our food. This was the first time that service wasn’t a 5-Star. The food is always delicious.
Service was excellent
Amazing food, great ambiance.
Maitre d was not welcoming
I had dinner and two breakfasts. The restaurant was so full and noisy for dinner that it was difficult to hear my colleagues around the table and the service was inaccurate and slow. However the food and wine were excellent. Breakfasts were a different matter and it was not crowded - the food was again excellent and the service outstanding.
Best shrimp and grits I have ever had!
This was my second visit and I wasn’t disappointed. I will continue to work my way through the seafood and vegetarian selections.
The food was decent, but not quite memorable for the price. I enjoyed it, but would consider going to one of the other Farmers restaurants. The service was also great, but again, I think the cost was higher than the value. I like going to the Farmers restaurants, but I do not recall paying $14 for one glass of wine. Seems a little steep, to me.
HI we were a party of four. three of us had the seafood salads. Compared to other fine dining restaurants like Joes, or Oceanaire the salad was inferior and appeared to have little thought on what were complementary vegetables and tastes in the salad. It was also odd it was served with a creamy Caesar dressing as opposed to a fresh lemon vinaigrette.
From the minute we walked in the door the service was terrible. Neither of the Hosts looked up, acknowledged our presence. It took them 5 minutes to even find the reservation. The table service was even worse. Got a menu, wait 15 minutes to place an order. Served tea, no spoon. Served food, no silverware. The server could not explain a steak sandwich with a dip. From start to finish 1 hour and 35 minutes.
Not a place to go for a business lunch.
Made a reservation but they were insanely busy which pushed our res back by 45 minutes. We got drinks to wait (quickly, I might add) which was great, everyone was so friendly and I would highly recommend. Great ambiance, delicious food and amazing cocktails!
We were in town for the week and this restaurant was in the area where we were staying. Great menu - worked for all of us, vegetarian, meat eater, low carb diet.
Our server had excellent suggestions!
When the server accidentally spilled multiple drinks on our coats, there wasn’t much of a concern for the damage except to offer that we use the hand dryer in the restroom. I was disappointed as I frequently visit F&D as a regular patron for business lunches and evening dinners. I wish a manager would have been notified to speak to us about my pending dry cleaning bill.
Everything good but heavy on salt!
Melissa was an excellent waitress. She made wonderful suggestions and was extremely helpful to my colleagues .
Breakfast was very good - especially awesome French Toast. Seating space in booth was very tight. Service was OK, but nothing special - asked for tea (English Breakfast) to be hot and strong and it was neither - took about 10 mins for milk to arrive. But would go again.
I had reservations so we got in quick. Love the atmosphere! The food is ok, nothing special, however the service is horrible! Walked in and a waitress was telling another waitress “If you don’t stop talking to me, I will drag your a in this d* place”, which was super trashy in itself. The food was alright, too expensive for the subpar flavor, and our waitress was awful. We ran out of drinks and it took 30min to get one refill, after that we ran out of the drink and never got a refill, food took over an hour to get to our table. I wouldn’t go back.
Overall very slow service, food was only okay. Very disappointing. Vodka was good.
