Even with a reservation, we waited 15 minutes for our table. Service is abrupt. But the food is amazingly good.

We must have hit an off day. Had a reservation for eight and when we arrived, the table wasn’t ready. We were finally seated at a high top bar table that was not big enough for comfort. Service was slow. Our poor waiter was bussing tables and going between rooms. Food was fantastic.

Great corner location. Plenty of street parking nearby. I booked a 5:30 pm reservation and was seated immediately. Server arrived 10 minutes later (which gave me time to look over the menu) with water. She recommended the cucumber delight (summer refresher drink) and I ordered the scallops. The server's great drink recommendations were even brought up at the table seated next to me...

CUCUMBER DELIGHT $12 - FS Vodka, domaine de canton, lemon, cucumber, cantaloupe - cubed iced, cantaloupe ball, cold and refreshing!

MID-ATLANTIC SCALLOPS $26 - (parmesan grits, sweet potato confit and shallot marmalade, quinoa salad) the scallops were cooked perfectly (crisp layer) but salty and I could have skipped the marmalade. Large generous portion!

I really wanted to order an espresso and donut, but my stomach had absolutely no room. *The donuts are baked fresh (located conveniently at the entrance) so you smell delicious baked sugar.

The service was awful. It took 50 minutes to get our cocktails and the Manhattan was not a Manhattan and had to be sent back to the bartender.

Fantastic restaurant. On the weekend for brunch they will only be doing the brunch buffet which is a little pricey, but is one of the best buffets I have had in a while.

Great value in the DC area. Sunday brunch was buffet style and served fresh and hot. The pass arounds were a surprising addition to the meal. Fried shrimp, chili, kale salad, crab dip and chicken milanese were all standouts! Coffee and tea were included. Amazing variety and fun atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

A wide ranging menu of farm to table food. As one who has never found food at a buffet to be edible, I was in for a complete surprise.

We love Farmers and Distillers as the food and service are always exceptional!! This restaurant is so outstanding, we travel all the way from Virginia Beach to celebrate special occasions here. Plus, they have always been so accommodating with our requests such as a table by the window. Eating at Farmers and Distillers for our birthdays, has now become a fond tradition for our family.

Seating was atrociously bad. Checked in 5 mins before reservation time. Seated almost 25 mins after reservation time despite repeatedly checking in and other diners being seated ahead of our party. When seated we had no menus. Shocking to see this and not even an apology from the restaurant. One of the worst arrival situations ever experienced.

Very poor service. Waitress forgot about us several times and failed to bring my drink. When it was time to leave she could not be found and when we asked another server for assistance she did nothing. After we paid we sat at the bar and the bartender was rude to the people next to us for no reason. Service at both the table and bar was very slow and unresponsive. Great food, horrible service.

Went there to celebrate my birthday and my wife’s birthday. Their weekend brunch is our favorite. It’s always great, and this time was no different. The brunch is on the pricier side, but given the unusual selections, and the amazing quality of ingredients, it makes some sense. After getting off to a slow replenishing start, they were able to keep selections well-stocked. The restaurant was noisier than I remember, and we had some difficulty hearing our server. All-in-all, the experience was a good one.

Our server was rude and barely checked in on us. We never got the chance to order a second round of drinks as the only time we saw her was when she took our order and first round of drinks. In order to pay we had to find her as she was in the back rolling silverware and filling sugar holders to get ready for breakfast service the next day. I have been here before and service is usually a strength of this place but on Friday it was very disappointing.

The food was exceptional. The Fried green Tomatoes were perfectly crispy and the sauce and goat cheese spread was excellent. My party could have a great conversation without shouting. Mauricio, our server at lunch was great, patient and on the spot with service. Ask for him by name! Will definitely come again. Steams were perfectly cooked!

I love the Farmers Restaurant Group and have been to all of their locations in this area, except had not yet been to Farmers & Distillers. My family decided to go for my birthday and we had a wonderful meal. I love how each of their restaurants are somewhat similar, but each is also unique in it's own way. We ordered the hot crab dip, one of our favorites from one of their other restaurants, and we each ordered an entree we never had before and everything was delicious! Also, when our check arrived our served said that my dessert was complimentary, as I was a recognized guest (or something like that), which was a nice surprise. Overall, great service, great food, which is why I keep going back to restaurants in that group.

No one will ever call this super gourmet food but there are always a lot of good choices at Farmers and Distillers and everything tastes really good. It's like elevated home cooking if your home cook was a really good cook. My one complaint was that I got an cabbage/brussels sprouts salad that was too dressed but all other food has been really good and satisfying. Not gourmet but yummy. I finished a grain bowl with tuna the other night followed by a shared donut and very delicious coffee. I was full and didn't need another bite--but when I saw another table being served, I felt that I wanted to try everything they were eating. I'm pescatarian and there are lots of choices for me. I don't feel I only have on or two items to eat. If anything, the desserts may be too sinful. the cinnamon cake donut was delicious but I chose it as the least rich item on the menu. I'll be back again and again because it is reliable. I have to dip into more of the drinks menu. The non-alcoholic manhattan coffee soda is a rare treat.

Menu was incredibly diverse - tons of choices. Food was just OK, though. Chicken pot pie had almost no chicken, and cornbread looked better than it tasted. Super noisy, too.

Hi KeithE: I am so sorry that the food was only OK and failed to give you that WOW factor. I am also sorry that the restaurant itself was considered "super noisy" during your visit, and this sadly compromised the overall enjoyment of your experience. Please know, both our Management & Culinary Team have read your feedback and will surely take into account what you shared. We hope for the chance to have you back soon and please call us: 202-464-3001 for any reservation help needed. -Amy

We come to this restaurant frequently, but I do think the quality of food was slightly better in the past when they first opened. Some of our dessert donuts were pretty stale and my mom’s prime rib was dry. All of the dishes that have Chinese flare seem to be consistently good, as well as the burgers and appetizers. Service was good, but a bit slow getting drinks from the bar.

Food was good but mine was served lukewarm. Service was very slow, I don’t think they were prepared for the crowd. We had made a reservation at 8 and were not seated until closer to 830 even though we checked in around 750. I have had better experience at other locations.

Food was excellent. Great cocktails. Wide selection of food including some incredible comfort food. The service was terribly slow. It was frustrating to go in with a reservation and wait for a table, then sit for 20 minutes at the table before someone came to take our order. The rest of the evening was more waiting, and waiting.

Fun atmosphere, cool menu, great drinks, but bottom line is it’s overpriced for mediocre food. Good but drinks, kitchen seems to have gotten a bit lazy on presentation and quality.
