I went for a Going Away Event. I am moving to another state and wanted to see childhood friends for the last time and the food was amazing. Loved it.
Great food and atmosphere!!! I had came here for brunch and it was awesome.
Excellent overall but a bit disappointed with no waffles, pancakes, a few other brunch items. Eggs good but a bit. Old sitting out too long. We have been to this brunch several times but found this visit a wee bit below normal quality and selection.
Our server Wendy, was excellent even preparing a less strong pot of coffee for our taste.
I am saddened that my favorite menu dish has been relaxed which was the seafood mascarpone. Please bring that dish back!!!
Farmers and Distillers is one of my favorite restaurants ever. I’m sure to visit each time I come to DC. their crab and artichoke dip is to die for and their grilled cheese burger is the best!
All I can say is, the food was absolutely delicious! The Parmesan Garlic Knots are to die for...OMG! As my entree, I had the Lobster Tail & Ravioli paired with a side salad...superb! We will definitely dine there again next time we are in DC for dinner!
The brunch buffet is enjoyable, and offers several good choices.
The food was good but nothing was labeled for the buffet and I ended up eating something that I had an allergy to.
Enjoyed the food, the drinks and will be back again
We visited Washington DC as a family for vacation and went to the restaurant twice for dinner - a very eclectic menu with a ton of great choices - the atmosphere was electric and the volume level was high so be prepared - the food was fantastic and the service was outstanding - we did not get an opportunity to go to their brunch, but heard some great things about it - we would definitely go back again!
I was very impressed with the food and service. I will be back again to try some other dishes.
The food and drinks were amazing!!!! Our waitress was also very sweet and answered all the questions we had!
It’s gone downhill and the prices have gone up in the last 15 months. They also changed their pizza style which is disappointing.
Went here for 3 meals while visiting DC! From service to cuisine and all in between....ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!
For me, the food is not consistence. I have ordered the same meal three time and each time it is different. The first time I ordered "Baby Macs, Shake and Fries" it was great. The 2nd time as a To-go order for lunch. The fries were greasy and soggy and the sandwich was serviced on white bread not Broche. The final time, again the burger was served on white bread, not broche, the salad was overdressed and the tomato was over ripe. Finally the shake overflowed the glass, so it was a sticky mess.
My friend's meal included a donut, instead of putting the pastry on a different plate it was placed on top of the mash potatoes. This looked very unappealing.
It was a beautiful restaurant, good atmosphere...but only so so food.
- Good food generally, especially the pasta dishes, dumplings, and burgers.
- Good service
- Friendly staff
- They dropped the best cioppino I ever had (and it was $20!) and replaced it with a spicy fish stew with no crab or clams, and charge $27.50! Not happy!
- Very loud
- Most food is really quite good, but pizza crust is insipid.
- Only two small pieces of fish on fish and chips.
F&D is a great go to for me. Im always raving about it to friends and this was the first time bringing my boyfriend and he really emjoyed it.
Manager did a great job getting us a more suitable table than what was originally offered (tried to squeeze 6 adults, including 3 large men around a table for 4) and checked on us throughout the meal. Wonderful wait staff that answered all questions, and a bar manger that really helped us select wines for the evening, proving tasting pours and feedback on the wine list. Excellent food to boot - we will be back!
Austin was great as the hostess and our waiters (one under training) were also very professional and attentive. Sorry forgot their names. Food was excellent and no complaints. Keep up the good work.
Food was great. Server anticipated our needs, but disappeared when we wanted to pay the bill and both of us wee time constrained.
Amazing desserts, yummy cocktails, great service! My entree (lamb chops) was also good, though I would have liked for it to be bigger.
Excellent menu with options in almost every category of cuisine. Food was excellent, although a bit pricey for what you get. Service was nothing special and there was a lot of confusion when we were being seated, as we had to move tables twice. Overall a good meal. I would definitely return just to try more options on the extensive menu, so much of it looked excellent.
Good food. Server was good at cking for food allergies. But food was a little slow coming out. Donuts are fantastic.
This was my third time and it was great! Our server, I believe her name is Sydney was so kind and made great suggestions as I was so indecisive after viewing the menu.
Farmers and Distillers is an excellent get together spot for brunch. The brunch is buffet style and everything is delicious.
Wonderful brunch. Great food and pricing. Service was quick. I suggest having a reservation for fastest seating otherwise the wait can be long during peak times.
Food is very delicious. We were there for about 2 hours for brunch. Unfortunately, we never saw any pancakes go around in those 2 hours. When we asked one the servers, they claimed that there were no pancakes; however, it’s the first thing listed on the brunch menu lol. When we first arrived, the waitress asked if we wanted tea, coffee, or OJ. I did yes to the OJ, but she never mentioned that it wasn’t included in the brunch price. Was surprised when I saw the additional $5.50 charge for the tiny glass of OJ. That brings me to my next point. The alcoholic cocktails are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Like ridiculously. The “brunch bowl” on the menu for “2-4 people”, is am oversized cup that’s hardly enough for just 1 person... yet it costs $26! So we sent it back and ordered individual drinks instead... received even tinier glasses for the charge of $15.50 each. So the all you can eat brunch (which is actually really delicious) is just $32.50, but the drinks are where the restaurant is earning its money. So only go if you’re really hungry and are satisfied with water, coffee and tea :-)
Tables were very close together in the center. This made it uncomfortable to get in and out of the table for the buffet. Otherwise food was great! A little noisy but not too bad. Able to get a last minute reservation for 6.
My sisters and I love this place, and we really appreciated Jade, who took great care of our meal today. I have a severe peanut allergy, and she as well as the manager were careful to explain precautions and checked to make sure the meal was going well. The fried chicken is as good as it is back home in New Orleans, and I always love indulging in the homemade donuts (also made without nuts!). Thanks Farmers and Distillers.
Service was beyond 5 stars. Completely wowed. Management asked about my allergies to be sure I had a great experience.
Food was really good. We had to ask NOT to be seated at the worst table in the place, and ended up with a good table. Service was dicey—took a long time for drinks to arrive; server spoke very fast and had a few issues with our order. Overall a good experience and I’d go back.
From our hostesses (twins) to our waitress Acadia to staff that checked on us like Mike and ( young lady from Banneker High) to Manager Jimenez! We really enjoyed our conversation and stay....and the food was very good!
This is the second time I have been to this restaurant for brunch. The food is great but the service is not worth the hassle. First of all, the passed items are included in the menu but I don't think they are actually served. The first time we had brunch here, they said there was a delay in the kitchen so they hadn't started passing the items before we left. We were there when they opened so this seemed reasonable. This time, our reservation was at 1245 so I expected to get the passed items. Nope! Dumplings came around once but nothing else. I've been to Founding Farmers and Farmers. Fishers and Bakers for brunch and we always get at least 3-4 passed items during our 1 hr visit. We were seated in a little "cubby" past the bathrooms. At one point the path was blocks by stacked chairs. The hallway to get to our seats was extremely small and served as the staff "prep" area. Not a problem until it seemed like we were in the way just trying to get to our table. The staff didn't even bother to move so we could get by. The waiter forgot to check on us and we had to get up and ask for more water. I ordered hot tea, it took about 15 min to arrive. They also served me mint tea instead of a breakfast tea. I find this to be odd as most people would not drink a mint tea with a meal (or as a substitute for coffee). I should have been asked what type of tea I wanted. I honestly think we were forgotten. The staff did not come by to clear our plates so they were stacked on the table. And went I asked for the check I had to go and find the waiter to pay. It was completely packed so you would think they would try to hurry and get people out but I guess not.
Our server, Steve was fabulous. The food ranged from ok (fried chicken was dry, dumplings were oddly sweet, etc) to delicious (French toast sticks with bananas were to die for, fatback was great, donuts were a treat etc). Not a lot of complex flavors to some of it but it was a brunch buffet so maybe their normal fare is more outstanding.
Brunch menu online made it look like individual dishes were available, but it's solely buffet available (at $30+/person)
Good food and service. The wait times even with reservations can sometimes be pretty long.
We arrived at 7:50 for an 8:00 reservation, and were told our reservation was for 8:15. Seemed as though hostess was either new or overwhelmed. Dinner was excellent. Donuts were subpar (banana coffee cake was dried out and hard). Service was fair. My husband’s drink didn’t arrive until after we were almost done with our meal. Overall the food lived up to the F&F brand, but the restaurant staff could use some tightening up.
Excellent service. The drinks, salads and donuts were all excellent. The main courses on the other hand and the fried green tomato starter seemed mass produced.
