I loved the time I got to spend with my colleagues at farmers and distillers. The drinks were amazing and awed us from the start. The food came and continued to raise the bar. The staff were friendly, and attentive!! I can’t wait to be back in the city again and will be dreaming about it on the flight home.
Food needs more seasonimg. Otherwise great restaurants.
I've been to Farmer Fisher Baker and Founding Farmers before a little over a year ago and had great experiences with both so I'm sad to write this review. I was really excited to try Farmer's and Distillers but the service was so so bad. We had to ask for everything! (Water, silverware, plates for our appetizers). I think the biggest let down is we were so excited to try the drinks but our drinks took so long to come we could only order one. The food was ok but due to the service we won't be returning.

Food was not good. We ordered a couple appetizers then left without ordering entrees. Springs rolls had some weird sauce on top (tasted like BBQ sauce, didn’t pair well together), dumplings were cold, bread basket was ok but overall we were disappointed. The bar was out of ingredients for at least 2/3 drinks on the menu and the server was not very helpful in finding other options. He would disappear and we asked for ice, but it never came. We could not get out of this place soon enough. It looked promising, but don’t waste your time or money.
My siblings came to visit for one night and I spent three hours looking for a good restaurant.
We liked the ambiance and location, but the food was a #fail. I ordered cornbread and it had zero cornmeal in the recipe and was spongey with kernels at the bottom. Jiffy Cornbread out of the box would've been better!
Everything else was greasy and sweet where it shouldn't be. We ordered fried rice and it tasted like it was sprayed with a smoke flavor and tossed in agave AND it was very oily. We're Chinatown adjacent and nobody knows how to make something this basic? I was so disappointed that this was their introduction to DC.
WE two more appetizers and my brother was too concerned about taste to order an entree. We were hungry but 1/3rd of that awful cornbread in the serving skillet.
Also, my cocktail (a Cosmo) wasn't prepared properly. With the correct amount of ingredients it should've been a fuschia color, not bubblegum pink and there was no lime. It's often served incorrectly with a lemon and I would've taken that over no fruit garnish at all.
I've come before for coffee and pastries for breakfast and I think it's best to stick to that.

After eating 1 and a half, I discovered the chicken dumplings were raw. Now just waiting to get sick to my stomach.

Food was good. Service was choppy. Meals came to table literally 2 minutes after appetizers. Thought someone would have noticed there wasn't room on the table. No, it all got jammed in. At some point someone from the front came over and told us we'd exceeded our allotted 2 hours, which no one mentioned before (there was no one waiting to get in by then). We nevertheless stayed another 45 minutes, which shows the weak attention to detail. Then again, the food was good.

Service slow, never offered a refill on my drink. I ordered Chicken Fried Steak which was very tough. I could never find waiter to ask for steak knife until near end of meal so just asked for check. Sides were good as was my husband’s Reuben sandwich. Overall just average meal.
Exceeded expectations. Excellent meal. Enjoyed sitting outside and watching the hustle and bustle of the city.

Friendly and attentive staff. We sat outside on the patio and had a wonderful brunch.

First time diner at this restaurant. Hamburger was tasty but a lot of juices/grease dripped from it while eating. Colleague had fish & chips meal. It was heavily spiced with what could have been Old Bay seasoning. Ease up on the seasoning. Provide Sweet&Low for drinks.
I’ll be back to try other menu items.
