Farmers & Distillers
Went for brunch buffet. Server was great! Very attentive. Food was ok. Great variety, all of average taste. Peppercorn bacon was really good, I enjoyed the coffee. A little pricey, but overall not bad. I might be back.
Worst brunch I’ve had in Washington, DC in years. Cold food, uncooked bacon, soggy eggs, literally mystery vegetables.
We had a wonderful meal and time! Our waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable.
Restaurant had no idea why it was an occasion (which is an awful and awkward way to be seated) - not that it mattered since there was basically no service after our food was ordered. Had to flag down two other severs to get the check - miserable meal and certainly not a great way to take my lived one out for their birthday.
Great place to attend during Restaurant Week!
Great space. Great food. Great staff
Our waiter, Brian, was fabulous and knowledgeable about the menu! Food was delicious (as always); will be back soon to use my dessert card as everyone in my party had no room for it after enjoying cocktails, starters and our main courses.
Went for lunch with a medium sized group (6) during restaurant week. It took us a while to be seated, service was slow, and there was a mix up with an order. Food was fine.
I have eaten here several times and always have really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, this last time the issues were we were seated 50 minutes after our scheduled reservation, we ended up sitting at two different locations and then the service was not good on this particular night. Our server was just slow and non attentive. Had to track him down to get our drinks ordered, remind him for our bread (finally delivered after our salads and soups were finished), flag down to get deserts ordered and the flag him down to get our checks . Food was very good - just our seating for reservation and service was weak.
Excellent! Food and service were both top notch. Highly recommended.
My headlines based on first (and probably last) visit: Taking my waitress's advice on the "home-distilled" bourbon, I could barely detect any alcohol, much less bourbon, in my watery cocktail. My dining partner said the same about her alleged gin-based drink. The pesto-basil pasta was drowned, watery, and pretty insipid. But the bread that came with the artichoke dip was nice enough. We cut our losses and skipped dessert... Overall impression: an after-work destination for the hip urban scene, but the fare was generally mediocre. There are too many other exceptional and promising places. Don't think I'll be back.
Overall great place to visit. Sometimes the servers seem a little harries, but during off hours you can get more of what you need.
It was OK. Dinner service was extremely slow and it was on a Tuesday! Food was nothing memorable except for the cocktails and doughnuts.
Hi JoJo: I am very sorry to read your overall visit was only deemed "OK" based on the slow service & food that failed to WOW you. :/ Our team appreciates you letting us know your takeaway from this visit and I would love the chance to follow up & hopefully turn your impression around. I will send you a personal msg with my contact info. -Amy
Great food! Great atmosphere, but a little noisy. The food took a while, but it was worth it.
Unfortunately it took a long time for our food to come and when it did, it was cold.
We went for lunch during restaurant week and it wasn’t packed.
The manager charged us only for the appetizers. We thought it should have been comped. 50 mins to get the main entree during lunch isn’t acceptable.
Great food with excellent service. Thanks for accomodating when we had extra people show up.
Reservation acknowledged and they allowed me to add one more. Service was good. The food was very good and drinks fantastic. This is a great place to eat if you are near the convention center.
I have frequented this Farmers location and have never had such horrible service. The manager did not adequately have enough wait staff in our section of the restaurant resulting in slow service to receive our appetizers, meals and checks. All hands should have been on deck because this was the beginning of DC restaurant week. The value for the patrons’ time was not taken into consideration.
Great food. Great cocktails
Our server was friendly, but forgetful. Forgot my coffee, the creamer, something to stir the coffee with, so he had to be reminded. Food was very good, but the Chinese fried chicken was dry. Slightly slow to refresh other foods when they run out. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable experience for the most part.
The brunch on Sunday was great. The food selection was very good and staff very friendly. French toast was amazing!!!
Great food Great service. Very generous portions. There is a big variety on the menu. I tried 2 of the specials, the butternut squash soup and the fluke. Both were excellent.
Farmers & Distillers was great the last time we had dinner there, this time the drinks were WEAK, my wifes avocado sandwich did not have ANY avocados - we had to request them. My pork and beef noodles were very good.
It was wonderful
Food was great, service was horrible. I won't be going back anytime soon. Wouldn't recommend.
Hi DW53: I am super sorry to read the service was the culprit to the experience you had with us! :( I would love to touch base to learn what happened exactly and hopefully turn this around. That said, I will send you a DM with my email address. -Amy
Delicious food, a tantalizing menu of fresh farm based drinks and food with so many choices. Can't walt to go back!
Hi emiller: Thank you so so much! We appreciate your wonderful review and look forward to having you back soon! :) -Amy
The good: Great booths and great service.
The Bad: We ordered a few dumplings as appetizers which were pretty tasteless and overpriced.
Big disappointment was my Cobb salad which came with the beer roasted chicken. It was on the bone, overcooked and had very little meat. Yuck!
The waiter quickly got me some new chicken but given the price and standard, I was really disappointed.
I've dined here several times. I love their kung pao potstickers appetizer. It is always delicious. The space itself is always too cold, which detracts from my enjoyment. Also, this last time I tried their pappardelle bolognese. Way too much rosemary. It completely overwhelmed what could have been a lovely dish.
Wonderfully relaxing and the staff is not over bearing
Excellent service! Farmer’s salad was delicious! Steak Frites were cooked perfectly!
Hi LaurenM: Thank you!! We really appreciate it and look forward to your return. :) -Amy
Had a great experience at Farmers and Distillers! Our server was nice and provided cocktail and dinner recommendations when we asked. The food was exquisite, and the ice cream was the best I ever had!
