I was actually disappointed in the service that I received.
Good place with dissent food. Nothing extravagant but solid place with good food
A little too noisy at dinner for my taste but overall good food.
Liked this place although it apparently does not serve beer. Knowledgeable server. Food above average.
Upon arriving at this location, the hostess was less than welcoming. She appeared annoyed and unbothered. This was our 1st time and the visit went downhill from there. Our food was slow to come out and 2 other tables around us that were seated after us received their food before us and what seemed to be better service. Our waiter noticed it and went to check them our food came out but it was apparent it had sat on the hot plate waiting.
Sensational cocktail selection made from their own distilled spirits. The food was on point with a nod to the historic China town neighborhood. Would gladly re-order everything we sampled.
I visited Farmers I ordered the pot roast. My sister decided to go with the chicken, which she raved about. I’ll definitely return for the brunch next time!
Not a place to eat with food allergies. Very unaccommodating.
Food, ambience and service were good; noise level too high for comfortable conversation. We asked the waiter to turn music down but it didn't happen.
Service was slow and kept getting my dessert order wrong which we were celebrating so that put a damper on our outting. But the food was delicious!
This was my 2nd time dining at FD. First time was only OK (New Years eve and really crowded). Returned on Easter Sunday for dinner. The food and service was outstanding. It started at the bar - bartender was very nice and knowledgable and made appropriate recommendations based on our preferences. Our server, Arcadia provided excellent and timely service. Our party of 4 all enjoyed our meal from appetizer to desert. We had vegans/vegetarians and meat lovers and the menu had plenty to choose from. We had a large booth looking out onto the street so we were very comfortable. A wonderful afternoon. I will be returning soon!!

I was very disappointed that my reservation, the only one I could get for Easter brunch, even made weeks in advance, was just shy of the brunch buffet being replenished anymore, and so I sat nearly in tears that I wasn't able to do what I'd been looking forward to for so long. There wasn't even anything brunch-like on the menu. People sitting around us continued to go back for more from the buffet, which was just really sad for me. The waiter seemed not much interested in taking care of us. He didn't tell us for about 20 minutes that our cornbread wasn't available, and then when we said ok just bring us whatever appetizer is fastest because we are hungry, he suggested bread but that didn't come out until our entrees, which was about an hour after we were seated. The food was actually pretty good except that I didn't get my Bearnaise with my steak frites. I almost always tip 20% and sometimes more, but I went below 20 that time because I felt very under-served. I would still say I'd recommend it to a friend, but not based on that experience.

Easter brunch with significant other’s parents
Consistently good quality food and somehow despite the brunch crowds, they manage to give ample time to enjoy. Enjoyed the bright atmosphere. Waiter was pleasant but did have to remind a few times to bring things we ordered that took a while to get to the table. I attribute that to Easter brunch havoc and perhaps more tables than typical.
Having a friends’ Easter brunch at F&D was great overall. However, It was quite busy, which affected service and dish availability in the buffet line.
Food was delicious. We were seated as soon as we arrived for our reservation. I just wished they served unlimited mimosas :-)

Easter brunch...... service was mediocre. Food was good, selection was limited for people who are GF. Zero desserts for “us”— not even a fresh fruit salad. No lean protein. They need more of a variety on the Buffett.

Service was good but, slow. We would come back and give it a second chance.
This was my second time here and I should never have given it a second chance. Don't get me wrong, I love Founding Farmers and have only good things to say about them...but to me Farmers and Distillers is so far from Founding Farmers I can't believe they are owned by the same people. To summarize: Trip 1- service was horrible, two people were without flat ware after asking for it multiple times- I eventually had to take it off another table so they could eat the appetizer the rest of the table was enjoying, one person's food came out cold, I constantly had to go find my waitress because she was literally avoiding our table, and she was generally rude. Trip 2- was told they did not have any coke products- literally watched the waitress pour a diet coke from a can into a glass at a neighboring table, asked for ice for the water- got it after a third request and having been there for an hour and a half, my grilled cheese came out cold- which is so unappetizing- I asked the waiter to heat it up for me and he gave me attitude about it, one of the dinners came out incorrect, had to ask multiple times for refills on non-water drinks before getting it, desert took forever to arrive, and again the waiter was generally rude and inattentive. The overall dinner took over two hours and the food was probably pretty ok but the service is just so horrible it is hard to enjoy. Never going back- one time can be a fluke but twice is a pattern and there is just no way I will go back. I honestly felt bad making the reservation and having my friends and family go here.
The food was very sweet. I finished the cauliflower ravioli and felt like I had just eaten a lemon meringue pie. We were also seated about 20 minutes after our reservation, so we had to rush and were still late for our show.
The only positive was that our waiter was excellent.

Booked 6:30 pm reservation and showed up on time. Waited until 7 pm to be seated. Thanked for my patience, which I find offensive, as I was anything but patient. Informative friendly waiter. Kitchen slow. Wonderful food, although chicken wings under flavored. Extreeeeeemely slow in coming back to table after entrees were finished to clear. I had to flag down a runner and ask him to take our dishes away. He did it, after looking at me with surprise (?). Couldn’t look at dessert menu due to fear that this would require another long waiting period.

As a frequent visitor to Founding Farmers in Tyson’s, I was eager to try this sister location. I loved that they had a portion of the menu dedicated to Chinatown. I ended up getting Chinese Riblets, which were fantastic. I had issues choosing a drink. The waitress was really accommodating. She made sure I tried the liquor that the drinks were made with before I dropped $13 on something that I didn’t like. I am SO glad she did that because the first two were disgusting. I ended up just getting a vodka cooler with cucumber. I would eat here again, but I think the location in Tyson’s is a tad better
Service was absolutely awful. Restaurant seems under staff we waited forever to get our food and then the check. Food got mixed up as well and there was no apology for getting a well done steak instead of medium well.
Amazing service!!!. Never waited on a drink. Food was incredible 👌. We definitely enjoyes this . We plan to fly into DC at least twice a year, just to have there brunch.
Food was delicious. Waiter was very kind and very good however it seemed he had too many tables and couldn’t get to us whenever we needed him. Also the drinks took WAY too long. Other than that I will always go back for the food.
Second time at Farmers & Distillers and it's still a 5 star venue in our books. While service was slow because of how crowded the restaurant was, the experience of eating delicious food and enjoying freshly made cocktails was phenomenal.
Be sure to order the lamp dumplings - so rich and full of different spices. The half pound combo Louie Salad was incredible as well - lots of shrimp and crab, fresh avocado, a creamy citrus dressing. The Ernesto drink was fabulous, I had to order two. All in all, perfect meal!
We LOVE Farmers & Distillers. We have gone there often. The food is amazing and the restaurant is GREAT! Our waitress was so friendly and nice but seemed to be over worked/or unorganized. It took almost 45 minutes to put in an order for desert and get our checks. We were there for 2.5 hours. When we went to the bar (when we couldn't find the waitress but wanted drinks) to order another drink, there were more people behind the bar than around it, but we weren't able to put in an order for 30 mins. That was a waste of time. Overall we still LOVE this restaurant but disappointed in the service this time around.
Overall, a good experience. Our drinks took quite some time to arrive, both rounds. Also, one of our dishes arrived with the wrong sides. The food was great itself but service was a bit spotty.
I love Farmers and Distillers. Top notch food and impeccable service without any pretension. I always take my family here when they visit now!
AWESOME service (shoutout to Ryan!), great food, good setting/layout. I requested ADA/wheelchair access for someone in our party and staff were super accommodating.
I wanted to like this place so much but unfortunately the poor service just killed the experience. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for starters, unfortunately they were so over cooked that the tomatoes were literally mush and inedible and the meatballs were over cooked and crumbly as well. Our waiter did take the fried green tomatoes off of the check. Then comes our food, we both ordered burgers (well done) and my guest ordered a salad with hers. Once they brought out our food, the burgers were wayyy undercooked and they had brought her fries instead of the salad she requested. Once we were finally able to flag down a random waiter, he promptly took the burgers back to the kitchen. Unfortunately, it took them extremely way to long to bring back the new burgers. By the time we actually got our food we had been at our table for over an hour. While the food that was actually cooked properly was good, the lack of attention to details or even caring that it took over an hour for us to actually get anything to eat—our waiter literally avoided our table—was unacceptable. Just because of such a poor experience I would give this place 0 stars if possible.
*side note: during the time we were there, at least 4 other tables were also complaining about their food and poor service.
We went on a Thursday night. It was extremely busy. We had a reservation, and had to wait, but not too long. Then our server did not appear for quite a long time. When she finally arrived, she brought two jugs of water, but no glasses. Then she disappeared again. When she finally took our dinner orders, we still did not have glasses, despite having asked twice. They were out of the dish my husband ordered. My fish was warm, but the food underneath was cold. The grain bowl is cold, just so you know. My husband had a burger and said it was excellent. The highlight of the dinner was the dessert-fresh baked donuts. It was so loud, you could barely talk. If I returned, I would order a donut, to go.

Very cool place. The food was great and they were very accommodating to our food allergies. Our server was delightful!
Service was very slow, but our waiter was very friendly, helpful and attentive. I ordered Southern fried chicken and my partner ordered can roasted chicken. His chicken was almost unbearably sweet and far too pink to the point of being almost raw. Mine was just disgusting. It was extremely greasy and worst of all it tasted horribly of old fried fish... I told our waiter that it tasted as if they had fried the chicken in the same oil as they used to fry fish - assuming that they had made a mistake. No mistake, the waiter cheerfully told us that they do usually fry the chicken and fish in the same oil. We were stunned. I sent my food back and didn't order anything else as it was so horrible and we were so disgusted by the awful standards in the kitchen. For such an expensive place, to have sloppy dirty standards in the kitchen is a disgrace.
