Farmers & Distillers
It was loud, the waitress was very nice but so busy she nowhere to be found when we needed her and worst of all the food was mediocre at best. The only reason to go to this place is the supposedly good quality.. The fried chicken was burnt, the Mac n cheese was cold and tasted like it was made with velveeta, and the pan fried dumplings were soggy as they came soaked in a pool of so sauce.. not going back!
Good food and great selection. It was busy so the server had trouble handling the tables, but still an excellent place for lunch.
Really enjoy eating here. There are a couple of booths that need to be repaired. The company should take care of that it takes away from the dining experience.
I enjoyed my birthday breakfast. The food and service was great. I will definitely be back for dinner and brunch. I'm I'm pressed.
Dinner was amazing. Cannot recommend more highly.
Food was good but why did they put five adults in a corner booth table when there were plenty of tables open during lunch.
It is a great menu, but the service was slow for our table of 4. The hand made soda's were expensive and would not recommend Farmers and Distillers for families.
We go hear quite frequently at dinner time and it's always been great. This time we went for a late lunch at 1:45pm. I think our server forgot to put in our order because it took over an hour for the food to come and there were only about 3 other tables occupied. They also got our orders wrong. So frustrating.
Cool place....great drinks. Several dishes we incredible and others just so so. I’d recommend.
Brian was awesome!
Also consistently good food. Had a great time with the family
The ice cream saved our experience. Food was otherwise lackluster.
I was served water in a glass that was cracked around the rim. I informed the server. He said he'd replace it but I told him that was a serious problem. He got a manager. The manager told me to contact the General manager he gave me a business card for the GM. It was very busy and short staffed. The hostess at the door appeared to be overwhelmed. Overall the experience was ok and the food was delicious.
Wonderful food. Really good service. Had to wait a bit for our sever to come. Once the server came, everything went well, especially for a busy Sunday brunch.
Nice selection of breakfast and lunch dishes; full buffet plus table service.
Great brunch! The candied bacon was awesome, the French toast was ok. Great selection of differrent items both breakfast and lunch
We booked a table at 9:30am for brunch. We were seated promptly. Nice decor. The waitress was friendly and efficient. My favorites were the fried chicken and the crab dip. I also ordered the bloody mary. I would come back again.
It was less crowded than its sister restaurant on K street in Georgetown. Tney menu is similar.
I had a 9PM reservation for a party of 6 yesterday. It was for a birthday celebration and everyone in the party was military so everyone came from various far away locations for a fun time.
It took 20 minutes for them to "clean the table off" before we were seated. Not the worst problem. It went wrong from there. I ordered a rum and coke that multiple people at the table tasted and it was more like a sweet house made mix cocktail. The waitress argued with me and stated it was a basic rum and coke. Then she said they put agave and some other ingredients in it. I asked for another one which took another 20 minutes. My friend had a beer with his drink that never came. My boyfriend ordered a beer and it never came until he finally reminded her 15 minutes later that he ordered it. My other friend's food came out ice cold. The waitress apologized and said she wasn't sure what happened or why it was left out so long. He waited for a new plate. I ordered ravioli and it was hard and deflated. A water jug refill took 20 minutes. I always order dessert and didnt do so here because the experience was already so bad. We paid the bill, and proceeded to converse while figuring out where we were going next. The waitress walked up and asked if we had mistakenly left the tip off the bill. We hadn't even gotten up and were tipping in cash. After horrible service all night the fact that she then proceeded to stand there to make sure she got a sizeable tip was crazy.
I've only been here twice. The first time was awesome. This time makes me never want to come back.
It was great! Our food and drinks are always on point! The Deserts (Specifically the Devils Food Baked Doughnut) are amazing!!!
Our food and drinks were very good. And the donuts were incredible! However, our waiter was not very enthusiastic, and was very very slow. We waited about 30 minutes for our donuts after our meal, which was a little daunting since we got there at 6:45 and didn't make it out until 9:30.
A bit touristy.
Loud and crowded.
The bread and butter appetizer was a great crusty loaf. My partner had a grain bowl, which was OK. I had the prime rib, which was dry and a bit over cooked.
We have been to all 3 Farmers restaurants in DC. They were all great
The service was subpar
Made a reservation and got seated very quickly and the food was great.
Too noisy and the food was just ok. So many things to choose from though. The only thing that was a hit was the sweet tea
Outstanding! I look forward to sharing this place with many friends.
I wrote a long explanation on the back of our receipt which should explain the areas that need much improvement!
The food was amazing and the staff was very helpful! We had to wait a few minutes for our table.
Food was great! Service was quick, waiter was honest about his opinions on dishes which I really liked. Donuts were fantastic!
Great location. Wonderful and varied selections from the menu. Wait staff and food excellent. Lively atmosphere perhaps a little noisy.
We visit this restaurant 2x per year when we visit DC.
Our experience is always outstanding but this time disappointed by the service at 4:00pm.
Food is always good but wasn’t pleased for the first time in probably 24 visits.
Our reservation was for 10 people at 8:30 at night. They sat us in a back corner which we had all to ourselves, thankfully, because the restaurant was very noisy. The location of our table was perfect, however it did cause the service to be very slow. The food and specialty cocktails were outstanding. And for DC prices, the value was definitely good.
We went for breakfast at 7 am (opening hour), and everything was terrific. Good waiter who explained menu options, VERY quiet (only 2 other patrons), quick service. A week later we went for dinner: very crowded, arrived on time (but Open Table sent a message that I was a no-show) and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. At first the waiter bugged us to order, but we were too busy talking to look at the menu. Then we ordered appetizers and lingered. Eventually we ordered main courses, which came eventually. Food was "comfort food" as waiter touted. It took 3 requests to get an extra napkin. Tea after dinner was fine. Since we weren't in a hurry, it was an overall good dinner experience and in a convenient location for BOTH of these meals.
Restaurant was packed & very loud even on a Wednesday evening! We tried the “Jefferson Would’ve Loved It” & “F&D Mule” cocktails. Both were really good! Service was great, very attentive. My husband LOVED the Chinese fried chicken & riblets. Seafood pasta with pesto I got was just okay...good but nothing exciting.
We both got coffee definitely try one! Overall a fun place to have dinner & bevs :)
Food was fantastic and different - we got the Kettle Corn appetizer and then I got the Fried Chicken and Donut entrée. SO DELICIOUS.
And, on the way out, we ran into Elizabeth Warren who had also been dining there. So it's cool even for the Presidential candidates!
Service was slow, especially for lunch
After waiting nearly 15 minutes to be seated (even though we had a reservation), I was served the wrong entree twice. The manager seemed sincere in wanting to make things right - even offering to get me what I actually ordered to go and free lunch next time I come in. Unfortunately, none of that came to fruition - he was never seen again. When I got the receipt, not only was nothing comped for the trouble, I was charged for both of the incorrect entrees. The whole experience was a disaster, I would definitely not recommend.
The restaurant is in a great location. The food was outstanding. The service was a little slow.
Amazing! Best food, service and value in DC!
