In its funky and eclectic restaurant, filled with rusty decor and a lime green ceiling, Farmer Brown is a soulful eatery with modern flair. Sensational starters, like the sweet potato steak fries with spiced salt and lemon aioli and the fried shrimp and cheesy grits bites, speak to Farmerbrowns southern comfort food aesthetic. Popular entrees include the crispy cornmeal catfish platter candied yams, blue lake beans, pickled onions & sauce gribiche, the classic barbecue baby back ribs plate with pickled veggies and the jumbo blackened prawns and stoneground grits. An amazing brunch is served at Farmer Brown, with such items as angel biscuits with mushroom gravy and crispy fried chicken and waffles delighting diners every weekend.

The southern specialties extend into the drinks menu, where the front porch iced tea with flavors of bourbon, seasonal fruit,housemade ginger nectar, fresh brewed tea, served in a mason jar, is a refreshing drink to enjoy with your meal.

    This restaurant was shut down and they didn’t even have a sign on the door or anything to inform customers. It was very strange

    I am from Louisiana and this is my go to place when I am craving those often-missed Southern dishes like greens, fried catfish, and especially gumbo (FarmerBrown's is the absolute best). A friend and I decided to go for a post-Thanksgiving lunch on that Friday and were able to have a nice fairly quiet 2 hours chatting over delicious food. Though I love the place for the aforementioned foods above, the mushroom omelette was exactly what I needed that day. Thank you for existing, FarmerBrown!

    I like my chicken to have a bit more crispy coating, the chicken here seems to be literally chicken cooked fried in oil. The grits were not creamy and the cheese just sat on top like a blob. I ordered a watermelon margarita, but got a regular one, which I was overcharged $5 for. The biscuit was bad and there was no butter. The best parts of the meal were the chicken sausage and the potatoes.

    The service was very friendly but also very slow. The menu really looks and sounds good, but I found that the plates weren't well executed. Kind of expensive for what it serves as well.

    Food was average. We had slow service but I think the waiter just had his hands full as the place was short staffed.
