The staff was great, pleasant and very accommodating. The food was also great.
Delicious and relatively healthy, enjoyed it
Worst service I’ve had in a while. Took over 30 min before we had a server come by. Main was okay, the halibut had a great sear but could have used more romesco, and was mostly white beans with only scraps of the other garnishes. Overall not nearly an experience worth the price they’re charging. So many better ways to spend your money.
Very nice atmosphere. Did not enjoy the food and service was slow . Calamari was good.
The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Oddly enough no one in my party ordered a fish dish but we can vouch that the salads and French toast are good choices.
I had dinner with friends here on Saturday evening. Food, service, atmosphere were all great! Five Stars! I am looking forward to returning.
Delicious food - try the avocado toast and brussel sprouts, and I love the half bottles of champagne. Great atmosphere and open air patio too. I'd definitely recommend!
Healthful and interesting food with kindness, this restaurant on Park Avenue is a gem. It's trendy and fun.
Service was impeccable. We came here for brunch. I got french toast which was delicious. My friend liked her pancakes.
We had the CRISPY CHICKEN COB. You should be renamed the SALTY SALTY CRISPY CHICKEN COBB! If you don't have high blood pressure you'll get it with this dish. When we provided feedback to the waiter he seemed unfazed. I thought he would communicate it to the chef. I even asked if the chicken was brined first. No reaction. No discussion about having another protein added to the salad. We waited 15 minutes for our check to be returned after our credit card was run. I know it was 15 minutes as I looked at the current time and compared it to the time posted on when the charge was run! Clearly the waiter completely forgot to bring us the check. I had to get up and walk over to the waiter to get the check finally.
Maybe. We weren't that impressed by the food or the portions. The bottomless brunch drinks were basic and a good value. No bottomless coffee in sight!
Our service was quite slow which was annoying as there weren't many patrons that day. Overall, I didn't think this place was anything special. It seems to be a place frequented by families as toddlers were allowed to run around the entire place while parents of infants dined on their food.
We came across this place while walking around, saved it in favorites and visited last week without any high expectations. But what a pleasant surprise it was!!!! The interior is nothing posh, but very ambient. Very welcome staff and perfect service! The food was unbelievably good. We are so spoilt with Michelin starred restaurants and we love all of it! The hamachi crudo, tuna, scallops, shishito peppers, octopus salad - bravo, chef! We will definitely keep coming back and I will recommend to all my friends! This is a gem!
Food wasn't very flavorful, just ok. Nice decor and good service.
We had a rez for 8:00. Walked in on time. Seated right away and service came to our table in a few minutes. The waitress was very pleasant, positive and cool. Our food came in a timely manner and it was delicious. I plan to take another friend there very soon.
Everything was superb. There was extreme attention to detail. We decided to share a few different things, and our waitress created a perfectly coursed meal for us. Everything is fresh and prepared to perfection
Pretty little gramercy restaurant. Hamachi, Farmer’s salad excellent, cauliflower poppers and king crab good. Great service. Will come back for dollar oysters soon.
We had a wonderful meal!
Food and drinks were good but service was slow considering the restaurant was not busy. We requested separate checks and the waiter agreed but did not comply.
Delicious food, nice ambience, quiet, great service... Two thumbs up!
The experience I had at Farmer & the Fish was sub par. Typically for restaurants included in restaurant week I expect good food and food service (they’re so special they had to be made more accessible to people for a couple of weeks). Although the restaurant wasn’t full, we waited a long time to place a drink order, place a food order and get the check. As for food, I left hungry because I disliked the food so much. There is no flavor. My appetizer tasted like nothing. I guess that’s why they keep salt and old bay on the table. My ate less than half of my entree because the flavor choices didn’t make sense. And the chocolate lava cake wasn’t a lava cake it was just a chocolate cake. That was the only part of the meal that was okay. I would only ever go back for $1 oysters during happy hour which were pretty good. Otherwise I wouldn’t recommend.
We waited around 30min for a glass of wine and a beer, the restaurant wasn’t busy as only 30% was occupied. No one was coming to ask us how we were or if we wanted to order. We ordered oysters and they gave us less, when I told them they didn’t even apologize but they did bring the missing pieces eventually. Would never go back.
We went for Restaurant Week. It was okay...
The fish was great! The open air feeling was nice and the staff did a great job.
Great place , food was delicious and ambiance was great for a nice dinner with friends , good wine too
We had shockingly bad service at the Farmer and the Fish. I would never return here. Our waiter seemed totally uninterested in checking on us, giving an update on our entrées (which took a ridiculous amount of time), refilling our water, offering more hot water for the tea I ordered, *nothing*. He seemed to be attentive to other diners. I won't speculate on what the difference in treatment might have been, but it's possible it was racial. We had to ask the bus staff for a status on our entrees and for the check. Just really unpleasant.
So loud, inattentive staff, mediocre food
My salad was delicious , but my soft shell crab was sadly burned.
Love this restaurant! Very good service, good choice of menu items, and excellent soft-shell crab. Will be back yet again soon.
Nice but nothing spectacular. Went for brunch. Was pleasant. Good eggs Benedict. My spouse had a lobster roll (kinda pricey at $29), which was good also, but not the best ever. Nice little place
In Gramacy Park area.
They showed a different restaurant week lunch menu on the website than what we got in person. Total bait and switch.
Bad service, bad food (both quality and how it’s cooked). not loud because of not too many people but I the reason for few guests is obvious. Way too pricy for all the above.
We were happy to celebrate our two friends’ bday in this restaurant! This place is nice! The hostess is nice, the food was ok! The worst part is the service, I’m not saying the whole restaurant service is bad, but the one who serviced us, cause I took a look the reviews on yelp, not too much people complaining the service, even though the people who give one star on yelp, they still saying the service is good! The waitress has no patient to answer my question about the drink, and when we try to have couple seconds to discuss, just couple seconds, she just left but the restaurant is not busy! After we ordered the food, and we nicely ask our waitress to take a pic for us, she just said “wait a mints”,and that mints takes forever! She never come back for that and even seeing us to ask another person to help us! We are been charge extra $5 dollars per person for the birthday which we are agree to pay at the beginning , however, they just act like they doing extra work for us for free! Ridiculous experience ever, because we are been charged 20% tip on our bill without asking! I mean for dinner, 20% is fair but not for the service like we were experienced! This place not worth the price nor our chance to try!
Very noisy. Service was ok, nothing special. We went during restaurant week and the menu looked promising but was not worth the value. Unordered a purdy’s cocktail and it wasn’t even a mixed cocktail. It was just gin in a glass and flavored tonic. Not worth $17.
I have been here an number of times and it never disappoints. This evening was a dinner for 7 girlfriends... to find one place where everyone could be happy is a challenge. This place was perfect ... seafood for those who want it and veggies for those vegetarians and vegans! Great service and atmosphere too.
Sad how hot and noisy this place was. I don't know if their AC was broken the night we went (they didn't mention anything if it was), but I left the restaurant soaking wet. The food was pretty good, but not good enough to bring me back with the heat and noise level being so high.
We went there for the Blue Crab special on Tuesdays and had a good time. The Flower Pot dessert was disappointing though.
The noise hit you as soon as you walked in and only got louder. My friend had to return her glass of Sancerre because it was bitter. The room was practically in darkness so people had phone lights on to read the menu. While the service was good the food was so so- what you could see if it. We got our dessert to go as the noise was getting to us and we couldn’t hear each other speak.
Ina previous winter visit i fell in love with this place. the Tuesday crab special was great and service impeccable. Unfortunately not the case with this last summer visit. The service waned and the crabs were foul - most were dead before their time and smelled and tasted rancid. These were suppose to be taken off the bill but the waitress forgot. The dining area is nice and airy but not well lit. the management dims the lights after 6 and the back tables (away from the window) are very dark. We requested light but management was reluctant to change for the customer. We had to use the flash on our phones to see what we were eating - perhaps that was the reason management kept them so low - so you cant see the rancid food.
We went for restaurant week and the menu was too limited and not worth the trip. We ordered from the main menu instead.
Few places gets better over time. This one does. We came here when it first opened, then again a few times. Always great seafood and friendly service. But we had not been back for a year. Now, new lovely decor with green herb indoor growth, lovely outdoor tables. Food as good as ever and impeccable service. Bravo to whoever manages this restaurant!
