Farm & Vine Bistro is the culinary vision of Chef Hakan. We are a new restaurant now opened in Burlingame. Chef Hakan brings the art of food on to your plate. His 25 years of experience in San Francisco and the Bay Area, along with his ambition for food and cooking, make him famous at local neighborhood restaurants. Our overall visit was mediocre at best. The ambience was decent and felt new but the food was just not special and you can tell that they do not use fresh or locally sourced ingredients or at least that is what the food that we got tasted like.

appetizer calamari batter was oily, roasted cauliflower was still white, octopus was very tender but serving consisted of only one tentacle. The evening dinner special Chilean sea bass was overcooked.

Second time dining here. First time was for dinner shortly after this restaurant opened. It was OK, but I wasn’t overly impressed. This time I loved it! Sat outside (sidewalk dining) for lunch and the menu, service, and food were all great. I’d go again.

This was our second time dining here and the experience and food or equally excellent. Staff were very friendly and the food comes out reasonably quickly. Everyone in our party was pleased with their meals

Had the special of the day soup, asparagus. Nice and creamy. Then had the paella. Very nice , not as good as original from Spain. Rice could be better. Party of six sat down next to us and was very loud. Overall a nice meal. With two glasses of wine our tab with tip was $130. Will likely give it another try.

Two of our orders were way below expectations. The hearts of palm salad came with all of 3 hearts of palm the size of my thumbnail, and two thin slices of avocado. Even after getting a replacement, it was below expectations. For my main course, the burger came with a thin pattie, a smatter of goat cheese, and without its heirloom tomatoes. No other garnishes and the pattie was not good. The place has gone downhill.

The food was stable, and what we expected.
The service was minimal and kept having to waive our waiter down.
The gnats were flying all over the food and we couldn’t control them… Was very unappetizing!

Service was great, very attentive and friendly. We all loved our food, and I thought portion sizes were perfect. The only weird thing is they were showing Game of Thrones during dinner! Probably not super appropriate and we had to avoid looking toward the TV to avoid spoilers.

My wife and I were delighted with the active but homey setting. The waiter and support servers were gracious and attentive, giving us plenty of time to enjoy ourselves and our meal. The Burrata was amazing, full of fresh and toothy goodness. The Calamari was delicately breaded to give it a nice crunch, and cooked just right with notable tenderness. Scallops and braised beef short ribs rounded out our meal. Creme brûlée and lava cake capped a wonderful dinner.

Mother’s Day brunch, super slow service, wrong item brought.

We have eaten here before on several occasions and been very satisfied but this time we felt the quality of food and service had slipped a little. Two in our party ordered to braised short rib and it arrived cold. The other dishes we ordered were OK. Service could have been a little more attentive.

A bit of a splurge and more a $$$ menu than $$ but it was a perfect spot to celebrate a birthday, especially when we had a group that cared about the sources of their food. The bread was incredible, the goat cheese was tasty, and everyone enjoyed their entrees. I'd go back for the tuna tartare in a heartbeat. Our server was attentive and charming, involved just enough to be certain we had everything we wanted when we wanted it. The pace of the meal was perfect and there was a full house with the noise you would expect on a busy Saturday night. I was a bit concerned after I read some negative reviews on Yelp. But the chefs and servers validated the choice I made and I'd be a regular if my food budget would let me.

Everyone loved it! I am an admin and plan onsite interviews that finish with a dinner, and your venue was perfect. Great menu, everyone found something they liked, and had great things to say when they came in the next day after a long day with a candidate.

Farm and Vine was recommended to us. Overall, it was fine. However, our meals (bone-in rib eye and short rib pasta, Brussel sprout appetizer) were not very flavorful. The cobbler was also somewhat flavorless. The service was good!

Service was poor , waiter brought my plate with fish and just pushed my apt plate and left it on table !! Strange
Good was lacking excitement, Brussels sprouts hd no garlic or herbs , quiet bland , Bronzino was dry , had to ask for lemon but still dry and lacked flavor as well. No olive oil to enhance the dish. Did not have a great experience

cozy and dark ambiance for dates or families...wide selection in menu. prices were a little high for the quality and portions but presentation was good. our waiter Mamet was very helpful, friendly and attentive.
i might come again to try some other items on the menu as this was our first visit.

I have dined at Farm and Vine multiple times and tried numerous selections from the menu. Not only everything I tried was delicious but the quality of food was very consistent. Kudos to the chef and the staff who keep this restaurant at such a high level! Strongly recommend it for foodies.

First time visit, ambience was nice, trendy. Food was good, could be served hotter, my halibut needed salt (and I never salt), not very much flavor otherwise. Presentation was very nice. Food came quickly, paced well. Our server wasn’t very friendly—a bit cold. Efficient but kind of curt and almost borderline rude on two different occasions. Would have made the whole experience a lot nicer if he had smiled once or twice. He just wasn’t into the job, not personable AT ALL compared to other “avenue” restaurants. Lived in the area for over 20 years, been everywhere - honest assessment.
Clean, nice restrooms.
For $195 (w/o tip) for 3 people (2 teenagers and mom) in Burlingame, I would expect everything 4-5 stars. (2 sodas, 2 wines, 3 entrees and 2 desserts)
Appetizers $14, $15 goat cheese excellent, calamari (good serving)
Entrees-good portions (Scallops $30, short rib tortellini $24, halibut $ ? Friday special-Lent)
Desserts profiteroles & cobbler $11, $12 (big portions)
Wine $12 glass
Will try it again but hope for a different waiter or hope this guy’s having a better night.

We had the brussels sprouts for an appetizer and they were very good. Our meals were delicious. We had the chicken and the halibut which were prepared superbly!
