We have dined at Fare Well several times and always enjoyed our food and our experience. I noted a previous review saying the food was heavy, but it really depends on what you order. They specialize in vegan “comfort food” so if you order the fried Seitan Chicken and Waffles, you should expect that diner-style feeling. You can always get salads, soups, or other lighter items. I happen to love the comfort food, because normaly when a vegan person has to modify a “regular” restaurant menu, all you get sometimes is a green salad or steamed veggie plate. Here you can get whatever you want! “Eggs” Benedict is impressive, the Impossible burger is fantastic.

My husband & I ate at Fare Well on a Fri morning & it was fine - not too crowded, but the food was very heavy, especially for being vegan. However, the 2nd time we visited was where we ran into all the problems. We went the next morning for brunch & brought my brother too. The hostess had a TON of attitude & looked like she would rather be anywhere else than there & it showed. There was a long wait, expected for a Sat morning. We were offered a table in the enclosed patio, so we took that since it was first available. Our waiter was also distracted, inept, & like he'd rather be anywhere else. He never brought my brother his coffee & instead of apologizing when it was pointed out he simply said that he'd take the charge off the bill. My Carrot Cake Pancakes had no trace of carrot in them. The worst part of our experience though was the fact that the enclosed patio is "heated" by an exhaust fan, a fan that is directly connected to the kitchen. All through our meal we could smell grease & oil mixed with food...it was really unappetizing. While standing in the very long line for the restroom after my meal (1 stall for everyone that goes through there...it wouldn't even flush anymore by the time I got in there-yuck!) the girls in front of me were smelling their hair & noting the gross "grease smell" that would be stuck to them all day & I commiserated with them. So not only did we have a terrible experience with the food but we got to carry it around all day long with us on our hair & clothing. Once we got back to OH we ended up having to get our clothes dry-cleaned, so our brunch ended up costing us an additional $23. Great, thanks. The food sat very heavy after I ate it, even the take-home bakery items that I bought. I didn't finish any of it. It's odd for vegan food to be "heavy" since it's generally lighter, healthier & made with better ingredients. I'm pretty sure the copious amounts of grease they use account for that. We will not be coming here ever again.
