The dream of Farallon was realized by Chef/Owner Mark Franz and Restaurateur Pat Kuleto over 20 years ago. Currently, the team headed by Executive Chef Jason Ryczek focuses on executing a classic San Francisco dining experience with modern sophistication. At the whim of the ocean, we favor the seasonal bounty of our shores and keep true to our high expectation of seasonality, sustainability, artisan production and humanely raised animals. Our jellyfish lounge offers a comfortable bar with tavern-esque dishes to meet the casual setting. The raw bar is full of wonderful raw/chilled options. Opened in June 1997 by famed restaurateur/designer Pat Kuleto and Chef Mark Franz, Farallon is located in the heart of San Francisco’s Union Square in the historic Elks Building. Recognizing the demand for large parties, Pat and Mark have also created three private dining rooms on the fourth floor.
