The space and feel is great, as is the food. It’s a seasonal menu but I had the mushroom Wellington and it was great, others in my party raved about the short rib and salmon too. The food was great. The servers, while well meaning, made multiple mistakes with our drink orders and would propose things only to come back and say they’re were either out, or in the case of coffee, that their coffee machine was broken. Seems like they need to be a little more up to speed. I’d still recommend.

Lovely setting, great menu. Service was slow, the entrees for our party of 5 did not come at the same time, and server misinformed us about a few food details (onions on hamburger were not grilled and server was not able to explain what romescu sauce was). One of two of the main floor bathrooms (single stall rooms) was out of order. These are small things, but with the price point at Fanny’s one expects everything to be well sorted out. My previous visits were flawless. Nevertheless, this is still a lovely venue with well-prepared fare.

Everyone was nice, but for the price point the food was heavy and all came out at one time. Service was too intermittent but again, our server was friendly. Also the seats were stained and had crumbs and food embedded in the crevices. Bleh.

This place is great. The whole Academy Museum annoyed me upon its opening—for a plethora of reasons not worth enumerating here. But they seem to be in full swing now, and one of the highlights is this gorgeous place with its brilliant chef. It’s no hyperbole to say that the liver and onions dish I had…plus a crime brûlée crusted cheesecake (named “Basque cheesecake”)….were the very best of their kind I’ve ever had. Great place for a date or a wine-sozzled conversation with friends.

Food was incredible! Ambiance was awesome especially if you’re a classic Hollywood fan. The Focaccia was the star of the night. Not being hyperbolic when I say it’s one of the top five breads I’ve eaten in my entire life.

Beautiful atmosphere. The salad nicoise was nice, good size, delicious tuna - overall very salty. (More than usual seeming because it is my “go to” dish elsewhere). Good wine and felt well taken care of by wait staff.

Did dine la menu for 2023 and everything was delicious! Portions were huge for a prix fixe menu which was wonderful. Had the lobster Cobb salad as a starter which was a mean in itself. Jidori chicken for entree. So crispy! And cheesecake for dessert. I need to eat persimmons more often. Drinks were good and well balanced. Highly recommend and will return for full menu items!

I had tickets with friends for a movie in the Branch Select series, but I wasn’t expecting my friends to want to dine. I made my reservation for one at 6:30, but arrived early. I was seated anyway at a table for two, ordered and was reading a magazine. My server moved a nearby table closer in case my friends arrived. Even though I was alone, I received lots of attention from the server, the manager Max, and anyone else nearby. My beverage was a perfect mojito, my salad and cheese plate were gorgeous and delicious; the toasted sourdough and butter were superb. In a nearby corner, a large noisy group was also enjoying their evening at Fanny’s. My friends did arrive, and since I’d already settled up my check, we went to the theater. It was in the theater my friend recognized the speaker introducing the film that evening as the host of the noisy party. Well, Bravo! It was very groovy that the people who worked on that award-winning show could arrange to celebrate and dine together at the museum. I love to dine at Fanny’s - daytime at the cafeteria, and evenings indoors.

The waitress didn’t know the wine. There was a typo on the wine list. Very unprofessional. They were out of certain appetizers and it was only 6:30 PM. We went for restaurant week i.e. dine LA and they said it was not available on Sunday night.

Fanny’s is a pretty place if you are also going to the Academy museum since it’s in the same building. We had a very nice dinner there a few years ago but were less happy with our recent lunch. The mushroom Wellington was good but a bit pricy & the Kramer chopped salad was just OK… a hodgepodge of ingredients with a rather flavorless dressing. You can get a much better salad a block away at LACMA’s restaurant, Ray’s, which had, I feel, a better menu & food. But we would give Fanny another try when we are back in LA.

Our server Meredith was wonderful and the food overall was very good but I ordered the Korean Chicken Sandwich and only about 1/2 the bun was covered with the chicken (it was a very small piece). The rest of our meal from the meatballs and focaccia starters was excellent. And our desserts were incredibly good (pumpkin cake and chocolate mousse cake).

Service friendly but a little random/slapdash: coffee without (previously requested) milk, dessert without utensils, long periods of no-follow up when the restaurant was relatively empty. The first decaf Americano was diluted dishwasher -- replacement cup was somewhat better but still too weak. But food was good and the atmosphere nice.

We love the ambiance at Fanny's. We all enjoyed our meals. I heard the lasagna was fantastic from my friend. Our server was great and very accommodating. We had 2 bdays and the desserts were both fantastic and very much appreciated. We only end up going on the weekend because the traffic is the pits during the week. Max, the manager, is always nice as well as attentive. We appreciate it all!! Thank you.

The food ranged from good, solid, to inventive and surprisingly delicious. Most unusual was the Matcha Blueberry Cheescake, which was excellent in texture (true "couldda been flown in from NYC") as well as flavor. All of us had moderate expectations having never been there before, and we all thought it was much, much better than that. We'll go back, and bring others, next time we're in town!

We were so excited to come here. We had a 8:30 res on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty empty. Our server must've been new. She wasn't understanding our order properly, and things were brought out at the right time. It wouldn't be a problem but it was 3 things that were brought out wrong. Then our starter, she wasn't aware that the sauce was under the items, so we sat and waited for a new sauce when it wasn't necessary. My friends steak was lukewarm at best. It clearly was sitting way too long. The food was OK. But just overall a really bad impression. And finally, the whole staff was cleaning around us and moving tables , etc.. Now its ok as it was late for the staff, but our service wasn't great and maybe one other person that was moving furniture could've been assisting this newer waitress? not a good first impression. Ive been for brunch and it was amazing.
