The food was amazing. Fantastic and fresh. Good value for money. Will definitely be back.
Great service and excellent food.
The grilled oysters and steamed crab were amazing. Service staff was friendly and attentive.
Staff is amazing ... just awesome.
Fresh delicious seafood: I know what I am talking.
I grew up in Brittany and my grandfather was a fisherman.
My 3rd time coming here and my boyfriend’s first. Really great service, the server was very personable and friendly! Definitely stops me from finding other oyster bars!
Happy hour oysters and drinks with a couple of items from the regular menu= right amount of yummy food for the right price!
I absolutely loved my evening out at this oyster bar. I tried out the $39 Holiday 3 Course Meal and the options offered were quite impressive. Portion sizes was very generous and the quality was what really topped it off! I love how the servers were all very knowledgeable about the menu and even offered different options if a certain dish happened to be out .. felt very well taken care of. I can tell staff was well prepared to take care of anyone during this holiday season so that we can all have a very enjoyable meal despite the strange times the world is currently going through. I am definitely returning for happy hour sometime! HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!
We were there mostly for the oysters and they were as expected, no surprises. We tried a number of their signature dishes - Ahi Tuna tataki, sablefish collars and crab cakes. They were just okay: Ahi Tuna tataki needs more acid and could use avocado and a different kind of chips to complement the dish. The crab cakes tasted fine but they were in the deep fryer a touch too long. Let’s say the sablefish collars are not for everyone.
We also wanted to try their mussels + clams as well as the Unami Bomb but they were sold out of uni. All in all it was a disappointment in terms of taste and choices of seafood. Our server was great though.
Service and food are always great at Fanny Bay! We really appreciated them allowing us to push back our reservation when we were running late. Everything was cooked perfectly and the value of the dishes are good considering the amount and quality of seafood that they use.
Come here if you want fresh delish oysters. Disappointed with my entree.
This is the third time in 2 months that we’ve been for lunch. Always fantastic! Oysters are the best! Love that Happy Hour specials now start at 12pm. Will most definitely be back again.
Great service! Felt super safe. Lots of great safety protocol in place. I'll be back!
I missed eating raw oysters. Glad I went.
The service was excellent, and great guidance with the menu and wine list.
Had a reservation here for my Birthday. Arrived early to see if they can get me in and they did have one available. I called earlier to check as well and they said no. The restaurant probably only had 4 groups of ppl sitting at different sides of the restaurant. Covid complient. Sat down and had to wave the hotess over to get her attention to order. Too busy chatting behind the bar. She didn't go through the menu really, as it was my first time there. Just saw what I liked and ordered it. Ordered some oysters and the special oyster called umaumi bomb, tasted al right bit salty, not worth $12 in my opinion. Ordered the cajun seafood boil. There was only half a crab to my surprise. Did not mention it was just half a crab. Expected a full crab. Crab was over cooked, potatoes were under cooked. My Bf was really disappointed as it was his first time here too. I don't like to complain in restaurants. For a $115 bill for ordering so little not worth it. During the meal we Googled the reviews.. not surprised that the reviews were not so great. As a seafood specialty restaurant the food is alright. Maybe put more effort in to dinner service instead of just happy hour. Anyways won't be returning.
It’s our go to place when we have little time to enjoy some good oysters!
Great service, wonderful fresh seafood, awesome selection of Oysters, delicious drinks. Our second meal there and will be back again!
Delicious food. Casual atmosphere. The only issue was the server kept repeatedly touching her mask while talking to us.
The food was fresh and good, the service was great as well!
We had been craving oysters and the Shucker's Dozen did not disappoint. Very fresh. Our server was outstanding. The Covid protocols in place are excellent. Would recommend without hesitation. Our first visit, by the way. We'll be back!
The seafood was all fresh. The muscles were very large and very tender. The wine broth was tasty and not too spicy. The ling cod, scallops and prawns were fresh, tender and nicely prepared.
It was as good as usual. My parents did like the restaurant, and they were there for the first time
Food was great. My friends ordered beer and after 10 minutes into waiting for their beer they inquired about their beer order and was told by server that she can’t over serve them. . They only had one beer at the restaurant.
Tasted all the oysters-very fresh! They were served with apple cider mignonette. Wish they had a 2nd mignonette for variety. Scallops and pork belly was delicious. The julienne apples were so refreshing. The broth in the mussels and clams was amazing. Very flavourful broth. The Dungeness crab in spicy butter was messy but tasty and the potatoes were flavourful.
All the menu items are well thought out and we will definitely go back.
Excellent place, fresh oysters and great seafood choices. Friendly, casual environment.
We went to Fanny Bay Oyster Bar and Shellfish Market for a causal dinner with family members. The seafood we had were fresh and tasty. Staff was friendly and she made double certain that the table was sanitized before sitting us down. It was a pleasant experience and I highly recommend this restaurant to seafood lovers.
Music was too load at times. During COVID music should be kept to a minimum.
Oysters were overpriced at $3.50 each
Appetizer scallops and pork belly tasted good but overpriced at $23
Clams and mussels entree was small and overpriced at ($25) for what you get. Tasted good though.
Clam chowder soup tasted alright but overpriced at $15
Service was average a bit in the slow side. Server did not seam to be attentive to our needs. We asked for more drinks and condiments with are meal took too long to receive drinks and did not even get the condiments.
Next time we will try Rodney’s Oyster Bar which is just a few minutes down the street.
We arrived 20 minutes early and the host was very accommodating and got us our table. Great suggestions from the waitress, food and wine was awesome. Will definitely come back!
Really dislike having TV’s in restaurants, it ruins the ambience. It’s like the owner gave up on décor.
Food was outstanding. Nice selection of very fresh oysters, we also enjoyed the crab cakes and the crab and shrimp roll with delicious truffle fries!
Service was friendly and fast!
Fantastic food! Very knowledgeable, friendly staff - overall we had a wonderful dinner
Amazing and great recommendations by server.
friendly waiter, clean and safe environment. food was great. expected more bang for my buck with the po boy sliders. Had more bun than oyster. otherwise, great lunch! cheesecake was amazing!
Excellent dine out menu and good service. The 3 courses were very filling.
Food was pretty good. Waiters were good. Value was good.
We celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary here as highly recommended by a family friend. Overall, the food was good and service was fantastic. Our pork belly appie was a tad overcooked but otherwise no real complaints. It would have been nice if the restaurant offered us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary but I did not ask for it. We would definitely go back again!
When customer is paying price for oyster, the customer has say in how they'd like to eat the oyster. Not receiving lecture in front of other guests.
We had an excellent meal and experience. We would have preferred the music to have had more of a background style and been a bit quieter.
Fresh, amazing seafood and great happy hour menu too! Excellent, friendly service. COVID safe. Very pleasant experience!
