About Famous Greek Kitchen
Opened 33 years ago this family style Greek restaurant has been a staple in Greenwich, CT. Today it has been passed down from one generation to the next. John's son Seve, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, has expanded the menu with simple, healthy, homemade dishes. The decor has been updated and the service still remains top notch.

Famous Greek Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
We were seated immediately. Drink orders were taken shortly after. The menu offers a great selection and variety and the specials were extensive. Service is very attentive and prompt. We will definitely return. And did I mention mention how delicious the food is? Try the moussaka !
Somehow our open table reservation did not reach the restaurant. We were waiting behind another couple that they ignored until I made a comment which woke them up. It was Valentine’s Day but they were almost empty when we went.
Don’t get the lamb sausage as an appetizer since it was sitting in a cast iron skillet of grease. I had agita for 2 days. The swordfish was over cooked. My wife’s black bass was excellent. Their sides to choose from are mostly starches. They should really change that.
The waiter was always busy talking to the other waiters instead of watching the tables.
Been here many times. The food is always outstanding! We have been eating here since it was a diner and it was excellent then.
Last night was no exception. We split the dill salad which is very simple yet very tasty. Fresh lettuce , endive, cucumber, feta and dill in a refreshing vinaigrette. Husband had the veal chop which was cooked perfectly with kale and the most amazing potatoes I have tasted this side of the Atlantic. High quality potatoes smashed on the plate in the au jus of the chop.
I had the Sea Bass tacos using a delicate tender lettuce leaf as the wrapper. The fish was lightly deep fried to a crunchy perfection, Very very good! We split our favorite rice pudding for dessert..
We will definitely be back.
Appetizer arrived in a short time.
We then waited forty minutes for our main course.
No bread but who knows maybe they don’t serve bread.
Servings were ample.
Other reviewers are right....the fish special was insanely over priced. Cod for 40$.....
Do you know how much cod you can buy at the fish monger for 40$?
The food was good but overpriced. The wine list was extremely overpriced which was evident in that few tables had wine. We had Riff Pinot Grigio which retails at $9.99 - their price was $40 - the cheapest wine on the menu. If priced at $30 they would sell a lot more.
This place needs to either focus on Greek or Italian.
The place was also empty by 9:30pm on a Friday night which is not a good sign.
Fabulous food. Spectacular service. Nice ambience. Lou was our waiter and he was terrific as he was very knowledgeable about the wine list and was well-versed about the ingredients and preparation about the broad range of food on the menu. This is truly an incredibly wonderful restaurant. My wife and I will return again and again alone as a couple and with friends.
Never disappointed. The food is consistently good. The service is very friendly and knowledgeable. Our booth for four was fine. Had we been six people, way too tight. I think the music is unnecessary. The space is small and there's enough chatter amongst diners not to have to deal with additional sound.
We have been coming to this restaurant for ages. Way back when it was a neighborhood pizza place.
In the last years it has upgraded and it is more of a restaurant. The food is very good, wines are good, service is good.
We are very pleased to have the restaurant near-by.
This place continues to amaze...the service is off the charts while the food is wonderful each and every time. Try the fancier specials or the cheaper but delicious Gyro. Finally, this place has a great wine list. Although there are few big name wines, Lou and Melissa (and others?) work hard to have an excellent selection of fun whites, reds, and roses at fair prices. This is becoming a regular stop for us in Greenwich.
