A nice experience and a staff that really seems focused on customer service. We brought a group of international friends with a range of religious and other dietary restrictions, and the restaurant accommodated everything without an issue. I was impressed. In fact, I have to say that the vegetarian food was better than the regular meal. The main dishes that were served for the regular meal were our least favorite- especially the red meat. The first courses were universally great - each one tasty and well presented. I personally loved the crudo and the watermelon salad the most. Glad we went, but if I went back, I might be tempted to tell them I don’t eat red meat. The fish and vegetables were very good.

I had reservations for 6 PM on Tuesday, September 5 with my wife and our daughter. Unfortunately we were unable to access the restaurant. I am in a wheelchair, and, despite being assured on the phone that I would be able to access the restaurant, there is no reasonable accommodation for a handicapped customer at your location. The manager came out to speak with us, and assured us that the lack of accessibility was fully disclosed on your website. I have since carefully reviewed the website and find no mention whatsoever of being hostile and unwelcoming to handicapped customers. I appreciate that the location is in the historic building, but there are solutions to this problem, including installing a mechanical lift or a ramp. The fact that you have chosen to keep your restaurant inaccessible to handicapped customers is disgusting, despicable, and disrespectful. I am not sure how you can make this right, but I am sure that you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Everything was perfect! Food tasted amazing, everyone was welcoming, the only area the team could have improved on was getting us out on time for our show on Broadway (about 20 min away). Our reservation was at 5:30pm and we notified our server when we sat down. We had to leave before the final dessert course to make it out on time, but we loved the food and would absolutely go back again!

We had a great 25th Anniversary celebration dinner here. Each course is interesting and well thought out. Though technically only 4 courses, each course has multiple elements. There was not a bad element on the menu that night though of course the menu changes based on available ingredients. I think the food menu is really not badly priced for what you are getting. I do think the wine pairing is a bit expensive for what you are getting. The pours are very small and though they choose interesting wines, it was kind of hit or miss in what we got. We would have been better off just getting a bottle of wine. The service is excellent with lots of interesting explanations of the food and wine. We would definitely come again for a special occasion. It's also nice that the vibe of the restaurant is laid back. It does not feel pretentious at all.

Mr. Barber’s tireless research to create the perfect flavour in farm and plate doesn’t go un- noticed. A corn kernel, a tiny cube of eggplant reveals the majestic true flavour of the thoughtfully grown produce. This was the perfect night out to celebrate a special occasion. The staff were professional but warm and tended to our needs excellently. They confirmed all of our dietary restrictions and abided to them. Each course was delicious and I left feeling very full: A rarity at high-end dining venues. Extremely happy with my experience.

Incredible meal and flavors, enjoyed the family meal style and each of the 4 courses. Ate in the garden room at an early seating, one other group there and we weren’t disturbed. We didn’t do any drinks but found items on each of the courses delightful and fresh.

I celebrated my birthday here last Saturday night and our entire experience was exquisite from the food to the service. Drinks were delicious, creative, and arrived quickly. Each course was tailored to accommodate my group's dietary needs and was prepared thoughtfully as to allow the natural flavors of the food itself to come to the forefront. Had been looking forward to this meal since watching Dan Barber on Netflix. The food was so fresh, thoughtfully crafted, and delicious! The service was also excellent - kind staff who are passionate about the food and never let your water glass reach empty. We celebrated a birthday and they even brought out an extra little treat. My only tiny critique is that the servers were soft spoken, so we were double checking with one another as to what ingredients had been listed before we dug in! Great experience.

Everything about this meal was impeccable. The food was so outrageously creative and well-planned, and the service was over the top. I can't imagine a better experience. This was my second visit to Family Meal. I thought my first meal there was the best I had ever eaten. The second one topped it -- as if that was even possible. Every bite is surprising in its novelty and creativity and delicious, made from the best things on Earth. We ordered the wine pairing, which I highly recommend. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable and eager to please. An absolute delight from David Barber and the whole Blue Hill team.

If you are very into farm to table, this is an amazing experience. If you are not into this then you might be disappointed. The service and knowledge of the staff is incredible. They were so friendly and explained all of the items you were about to taste. I’ve seen reviews stating that people were not full. Unless some of the food wasn’t to your liking, I can’t imagine this to be true.
